We now have enough help organised until the end of September, thanks. This is an independent hostel in the Glens of Antrim, Northern Ireland, near Glenariff Forest Park, 8km from Cushendall, 18km from Ballymena. We often host "barnminders" who look after the place, keeping it clean and tidy in exchange for accommodation and food. The owner is a professional storyteller and we hold music and storytelling sessions at the barn. Barnminders must be fluent in English and like animals as we have one large German Shepherd Dog and one cat. Owner speaks German, French and a little Spanish. We are in an isolated location so people must be comfortable with staying on their own on occasions.
See picture of the barn and the owner below.

Help with planting out the vegetable gardeners anyone with experience of gardening eagerly needed. We always NEED PEOPLE WITH ENERGY AND DETERMINATION. We appreciate help with our Eco tourism farm work. FAMILIES are WELCOME. RIGHT NOW WE NEED HELP WITH preparing vegetables for sowing and firewood.
We are an honest, straight forward hard working farm family. We believe in the philosophy of help exchange. It is simple the more you give to us in energy and commitment then the more we give back to you. We are big time volunteers within our own community. We provide comfortable, clean accommodation and private bathroom, for 2-3 persons and a big Irish welcome. Music, fun and laughter are a plenty, especially for those who work as hard as we do.
The usual small farm things are done here, chickens, pigs, lambs and vegetable growing. We need help in the house too, cooking, cleaning, laundry, in short just mucking in with the whole farm family.
There is always great variety ...

Welcome. Thanks for looking at our information. We are a small, cosy and friendly 23 bed tourist hostel with real coal fires in BELFAST near queens university and botanic gardens. My cheeky jack russell dogs visit the hostel regularly. The building is a lovely old Victorian style terrace. Its a great base to explore the life of the city and the beauty of our lovely countryside (Giants causeway and Mourne mountains for example). Also.... you will get a chance to sail on the lovely Strangford lough (may-oct), go for hill walks etc .... We work on a roster system and at present it is 2 days on, 1 day off. (7 hour shifts) In exchange you get a bed in a 2 bed or 4 bed dorm, breakfast, some organic fruit/veg and 20 pounds per week. Of course there is free tea, coffee, laundry, internet use and the possibility to do some free tours(Giants Causeway). Work is all aspects of a hostel, CLEANING, changing beds, dealing with people. ***Please note that your English must be at an acceptable level to be confident and capable of answering the phone and checking in new guests alone after some training. We have found that Helpers who are naturally friendly, enthusiastic & outgoing and who love talking to people of different nationalities, ages and backgrounds enjoy the hostel the most - it is a very interesting environment for meeting people of many different walks of life.***

Busy self-catering cottage business on hillfarm (now only used for winter grazing and silage making) overlooking the Irish Sea and the entrance to Strangford Lough. We have five traditional stonebuilt cottages set in beautiful coastal landscape which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Friendly hosts, two labradors, some chickens and a cat! Help needed during high season months of July and August and into September, with cleaning, laundry, painting, general maintenance of gardens and walking trails and small building and conservation projects. Around 20 to 25 hours work per week in return for comfortable accommodation in main house with homecooked meals. Mainly vegetarian cooking, but locally caught fish, fresh eggs from our hens and the odd Ulster Fry often on the menu! WiFi available for laptops. Would suit someone (or a couple ) who loves the coast and countryside. Lots of opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing, photography, birdwatching, canoeing, di...

Please read my entire posting and if your still interested you are welcome to come.
Currently i am looking for 7 friendly volunteers that is outgoing and would be hanging out with and be great with my guests to work in the two hostels. Please only apply no more than 1 month before you plan on arriving
For someone funny, smart, outgoing, good with guests and thrives in the hostel atmosphere there might be a full time job. But not guaranteed. Only when needed
I am only looking for people staying at least one month.
How it works is i provide you with free dormitory accommodation and £50 a week for food(as i don't cook for volunteers, its to much likes and dislikes) In exchange i need you to work at least 3 shifts a week. Shifts are either 12 hour day or night shift or a 9 hour cleaning shifts. On occasion it might be split shifts. The hours are long but not hard. Plus i always try where possible to cram the 3 shifts close together so that you 4 days off is enough to relax...

My name is Christine, and I am an Artist with over 20 years of experience in Pottery and Teaching.
Due to disablement with a car accident, and I am looking for help doing some Household chores, work in the Garden and with doing dome some shopping (so an international driving licence would be advantageous).
Its in a rural area, and about 3 miles outside Enniskillen (Fermanagh).
Because I am a single person and on my own, this would be ideal not only for a couple, or a single person, but for a more mature, trustworthy experienced helpx member.
I really do need the Garden done. It requires a lot of work for which I would be really grateful for. We need to clear away a lot of rubbish, strim, and then maybe then prepare the Garden for organic gardening.
The work would be 4 to 5 hours a day. In exchange for the work, you will have your own room in the house, hot water/shower, breakfast, lunch and cooked evening meal and good Irish hospitality and friendship.

** I am looking for helpers now and for the summer** This is a backpacker hostel about 50 metres from the Atlantic Ocean in the pretty little town of Portstewart. The nearby coastline is a dramatic mix of rocky coastline and long sandy beaches with the major attractions of the Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-rede rope bridge further along the coast and easily accessible by bus or car. There are fine surfing opportunities in both Portstewart and the nearby Portrush with surf shops in both towns. The area also has a lively year round night life. The hostel is a small 32 bed hostel. Volunteers would need to be happy mixing in an environment with all nationalies and types of guests. The duties to be done would be to help maintain a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the hostel. They would also help in the various cleaning and reception activities of the hostel. As you would be interacting with the guests a reasonable level of English would be needed although the position might suit someo...
