We have a small family run Riding School and Livery yard and dog boarding kennels in county Kildare near Dublin and we need help with our ponies and horses - we would be delighted if we could find someone who would help us with these animals and who is able to ride to a decent level/clean stables/groom horses/walk dogs..
We have some lovely well trained Horses for any horse enthusiast. From time to time we have Horses in to sell for clients. We also attend Horse Shows.
In the summer months we host foreign paying students aged 12-18 who are interested in Horse Riding also.
We would love someone who could do a bit of maintenance on the yard/farm,gardening,painting etc if asked. Working around Horses can be hard work but rewarding. I have bred Horses for over 40years and we are a fully insured and approved riding school so there is plenty of knowledge to be gained. We also have 2 large dogs.We have a beautiful large Georgian Home with mature gardens close to the university town of M... more inside

hi! I need help with landscaping and maintenance jobs on the land and in the Magic Forest, making firewood and also some computer projects on a Mac OS 10.6.8 like website and possibly video editing, promoting planet awareness through NatureArt.I am a musician who gives drumming lessons and workshops in the community + sound healing sessions. I manage an environmental project on the beautiful land of an old farm with stone walls + fuchsia hedges. The cottage which is surrounded by local + exotic trees and plants, a magic forest (with special spaces with sculptures), a holy well + a small organic garden. There are dogs, cats and a pony. The area is remote + beautiful. It is 7 km to Ballydehob, the next village. There is limited WiFi here. Musicians + film makers are very welcome, but not a necessary condition. I live with my children in an old cottage. Volunteers stay in the house or a caravan. 2 small farms turned into the one near the West Coast of Clare. We keep lots of farm animals like cattle, 9 horses (three for riding)we have interest in natural horsemanship!, donkeys, sheep, goats, fowl and sometimes pigs. We produce a wide range of vegetables for ourselves and some for selling. We have two children, went to primary Steiner/ Waldorf school; Frank (17) and Fina(13) and they love having volunteers around the place. Now they go to a local secondary school. We hope you have the ability to adapt to our for most of you different and simple life-style and enjoy farmwork with irregular hours at times, even our time off is irregular most likely on sundays or bad rainy days! We hope that during your stay with us you are willing and able to work as hard as ourselves, it could be tough at times, but you will get a true sense of farming life-style! It is important to realise beforehand that you are a volunteer who gets the opportunity to join into our family home so please do... more inside

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children, living on a dairy farm, with polytunnels and raised beds for vegetable growing.

We cater for both vegetarian and non vegetarian volunteers. If they wish, vegetarians can prepare their own meals, and anyway, it would be a new experience for us! Claire is limited in her experience of cooking principally vegetarian food but is learning fast!

We will need people for seed sowing and transplanting in Spring and early Summer. During Autumn and Winter, we would be doing some stone clearance, building of walls and paths and some general maintenance of the tunnels etc. Usually, we don't take people in December as there is little work to be done on the farm at this time.

We have recently converted a farm barn into a 2 bedroom unit with a kitchenette/living room area and a bathroom. It can accommodate up to 3 people, but usually we take 2 people at a time, unless we are particularly busy (during June mainly). We find it is nice ... more inside

Surrounded by sea, lakes & mountains our mixed farm is in sync with nature and the seasons. Farming activities mostly with the sheep & ponies & working sheep dogs. We often host more than one helper at a time.
We provide very good food & helpers have a day off every week. But we do work a lot here. Our farm awakens in the morning and we spend the day coming and going, to-ing and fro-ing, meeting the needs of our animals and general what-needs-to-be-done-tasks. Please be aware of the actual rough and tumble of living and being on a real life living animal farm...manual work...outdoors...sometimes wet...etc
(If anyone has some experience training ponies we would especially love to have you here. Our ponies are gentle and easily broken.)
In New Year we will plant trees and hedges on the farm and also repair stone walls and an old stone ruin on the farm. We welcome helpxers to stay for couple of weeks or couple of months. We also overwinter ponies & lambs. We need help at lambing ... more inside
