Hello!

I live in Uusi-värtsilä, a little village in Tohmajärvi, North-Karelia, close to the Russian border. Here can be found forests, bogs, remains of stoneage villages, springwaterlakes, rivers, wild animals, clean air and interesting people. Perfect!

I'm a 39 years old wood artesan.
I live in a old wooden house that previously housed 6 families. There is no running water or electricity in the house. Outdoor drytoilet. The house is slowly renovated a bit here and there. The garden is slowly getting some fruit trees, and other edible perennial plants.
There is two domegreenhouses in the garden and a third one is beeing built.

I have a little workshop where I sometimes make bentwood furniture and wooden handicrafts. I invite helpers to share the costless joy of gardening, handicrafts, yoga, making tinctures, cooking, baking treebarkbread, picking berries, mushrooms, wild edible plants, spruce resin balm, herbs and so much more. I think the world has gone more or less cr... more inside

Help is needed all year around in Finnish Lapland for a "Santa´s Pet Farm" (domestic animal yard).

Making coffee and selling tickets for customers. Also keeping the accommodation cottage nice and clean during Your stay :-)

If you are good on western riding, it's possible (not a must:) for you to go for a ride with my young American Bashkir Curly- horse. ... more inside

INTERESTED IN HELPING LGBTIQ ARTISTS?!

Hi all!
I'm in the process of renovating a big 1930s shop / house into an artists residence. And I need help! :)
The Artist Residence once the house is renovated will be for minority artists, particularly LGBTIQ artists from around the world who might not be able to safely work in their home countries.
The house is situated in the village of Niinisalo in western Finland. There is a bus stop about 50 metres from the house so it is easy to get to. From Helsinki it's about 4 hours by train and bus, from Tampere less than 2 hours by bus.
The village itself is very small and has no services. The closest town is Kankaanpää about 7 kilometres away. There is a good biking road all the way to town and bikes are available :) The town has all the basic services, shops, restaurants etc.
There is a public beach by a lake short walk/bike from the house.
House has been uninhabited for nearly 20 years and is in pretty bad shape. During the summer 201... more inside

We are four person family, sheep, chickens and cat. Parents we are craftsmen in various fields and art is an important part of both work. We cherish old traditions and organic living in all our efforts. The area where we live is old and the village of Skogäng has been inhabited for hundreds of years. We have rebuild the 100v. old cowshed as workshops and as guest accommodations. Traditional Finnish loghouse we built 2010 as our home at next to it. The loghouse shows different types of craftsmanship, almost everything is handmade. In the garden we grow herbs, onions, salads, etc. Every year the garden expands and we get more and more food from there. We eat organic food.

We would like to get help for taking care of animals, building and repairing of sheep fences and normal house hold.

We also need help in the building work. We are glad if you have the skills and interest in your hands. You will get guidance and advice from us, and most of the time you will work together with J... more inside
