We are a family of four (mom, 41, translator; dad, 43, theatrical set designer and doing this and that in the field of culture; boy, 12, into robotics, football, hockey, floorball, mobile and PS gaming; girl, 11, into all kinds of animals, especially horses, cooking, reading, music) who live in a big old house that we are slowly renovating.

We need extra pairs hands for all sorts of jobs around the house and garden depending on the time of year and whatever projects we have going on: scraping, painting, cleaning, wall-papering, basic carpentry, yardwork, gardening, basic forestry, chopping wood, cutting grass, picking berries, cherries & apples etc etc. There might be some light work with our ten or so chicken as well. In the summer work will usually mostly be outside.

We also have a few beehives, and helpers are welcome to help with their care if they so wish, but that is not required. ;)

Our helpers normally stay for one to three weeks, and unfortunately long-term stays ... more inside

Dear friends,
You are welcome to Finland to the small hostel located in the forest.
We organise programme for children camps for which we would like to invite native and non-native English speakers.
The camps we organise are directed mainly on children from Russia.

Next camps are
28.October - 5.November - Adventure camp
02.January - 9.January 2018 - Secret Lab (science camp)
End of March - beginning of April 2018 - New technologies

During camps there is a lot of work like cooking, cleaning, working with children, teaching, etc. Usually there is not so much free time during camps. Days off we usually have after camp. Anyway, we are flexible and we can agree other timetable too.

Besides camps in summer we accept helpers for general maintenance work, gardening, etc. For these tasks the timetable is about 6 hours per day and two free days per week.

We have just started a multifunction business in our small community just about in the middle of Lappland. Our base is an old schools building where most of the activities are to take place. These include handcrafts, artistic creation, gardening, traditional agriculture like reindeerhearding, sustainable environmental development, social work and healthcare. As we also include natural economy in our practices we also do fishing, hunting and gathering, which are still predominant in the area. We are gladly involved in local community projects. For now one of the main projects is repairing and renovating the newly aqcuired building, so there is plenty of work.
One of our numerous functions is to invite people to come and stay with us and exchange skills and knowledge and inetarct in the local community. Another is to help further a local bioenergy project. We also have enough room to to offer guesthouse type accomodationto both paying and work exchange guests.

We are are four person family, sheep, chickens and cat. Parents we are craftsmen in various fields and art is an important part of both work. We cherish old traditions and organic living in all our efforts. The area where we live is old and the village of Skogäng has been inhabited for hundreds of years. We have rebuild the 100v. old cowshed as workshops and as guest accommodations. Traditional Finnish loghouse we built 2010 as our home at next to it. The loghouse shows different types of craftsmanship, almost everything is handmade. In the garden we grow herbs, onions, salads, etc. Every year the garden expands and we get more and more food from there. We eat organic food.

We would like to get help for taking care of animals, building and repairing of sheep fences and normal house hold.

We also need help in the building work. We are glad if you have the skills and interest in your hands. You will get guidance and advice from us, and most of the time you will work together wi... more inside

I need assistance for making firewood, daily house and garden works.

My house is an old border guard building, located close (400m) to the Russian border in eastern Finland. Currently, this is a private home.

I have lived here for the past 18 years, at the moment with a cat and four Alaskan Malamutes sled-dogs (dogs are staying outside 24 hrs). The house is grand, with a total of ten rooms and 3 floors.

This is a very quiet and peaceful place, with the nearest shop located 25 kilometers away.

Private room and daily meals are provided, WI-FI, sauna everyday, if needed and free gym is also available village nearby.

I'm renting out a few rooms by airbnb and booking too.

My English is fluent, I would prefer helpers with a good knowledge of the English language.
