Hello,

I own a small & nice apartment in Brussels near all bus, tram and train station and very closed to the center. I am located near the ULB (University of Brussels) where you can find a lot of shops, restaurants, bars and clubs. You can come and stay in my apartment in exchange of some cleaning/cooking/shopping duties (only 1 or 2 hours a day so you will have plenty time to visit Brussels). I am working full time so you will be very independent and you will have a lot of time for you. In the apartment, you can use the internet, the computer and the television. I'm young and happy to host you if you are visiting Belgium. Do not hesitate to contact me via email or via SMS/Text Message or call in the evening after working hours. You are mostly welcome any time during the year. I've also been a volunteer during 3 years and I will be very happy to host you and share time/experience.

In a couple of years time, we want to create a smallholding (2,7ha), growing and selling organic fruit and vegies. On the land we started planting some fruit trees and shrubs and there is a large veg-garden in progress. In 2012 we started building a straw bale house, which will be continued and hopefully finished next year. Next to the house, some other future projects are: building a large semi-underground greenhouse, creating a natural swimming pool and neighboring sauna, building a roundhouse with reciprocal roof which will serve as workshop, making a chicken coop and off course continue planting more trees and shrubs and enlarging the veg-garden. We are very much interested in permaculture and edible forest gardening and try to design the land with these principles in mind.
Currently we are looking for help with the straw bale house. In between there is the veg-garden to attend to, which means sowing, planting weeding and especially harvesting. We expect you to help an average ... more inside

Jonna is 56 years, Rien is 73. We have a big house and a big garden in a very small village (106 inhabitants). Meadows and woods are surrounding us.
We like to reuse things. Rien is very skilful and can fix almost everything. He chops the wood for the heating.
Jonna likes gardening, she also collects seeds and exchanges the seeds all over the world.

Jonna would like to get help in the garden. I like to garden organic, so there is a lot of weeding to do. I also grow all the plants for my garden (it is not full yet), so, sowing, pricking out, transplanting, planting and watering must be done also. Further all the usual garden things plus seed collecting and cleaning the seeds. And sometimes we go to a market to sell the surplus plants. There is also a vegetable garden. If it is raining, we would like to get some help in the house.
Rien would like to get help with chopping the wood and repairing things.

We have a small farm breeding and training gaited horses which is very rare in Europe. We live in a beautiful area called 'Lage Kempen' with forrest and sand dunes. A great area for walking, biking or horse back riding. Our family exist of 3; my parter, our son and myself. Our critters: 7 horses, 5 dogs, 4 cats and chicken.

We are looking for someone willing to help babysitting our wonderful son (born September 2011) every now and then so I can spend more quality time working with the horses. He is an active boy and needs a dito sitter! Other than that we can use help on the farm and with the horses; Feeding horses, cleaning paddocks, fixing fences, assisting horse training etc. Every summer we have one or two bigger projects to work on. Our facility is not to be compared with a regular horse barn. Our horses are not stabled but room free in paddocks and pasture. We aim to keep and train our horses as natural as possible.

We started our small horse-pension in Feb 2011 and enjoying every day out here working on our idea. We are a Belgian-German family - Maria, Bert, 3 kids - living together with 5 cats, our 4 horses and 3 pension horses. Our idea is to create a horse friendly place and give horse owners the chance to find a way to enjoy being with their horse. It is based on trust, respect, fun and a relaxing environment using different horseknowledge like natural horsemanship, paddock paradise, centered riding, academic art of riding....

Volunteer help is needed all year around. We prefer that you stay at least 2 weeks and we like to limit it to 2 month. The work varies, but mostly it has to do with the daily tasks around the horses and bringing our place a step closer to our idea. You don't have to have experiences with horses but of course it is more fun if you are interested in them.

Our house lies in the suburbs of the university city Ghent. 100 m walking distance of public transportation that brings you within 15 minutes to the historical center. Ghent has a lot to of offer and Belgium is a small country with fast trains connections (when on time ...)

We are a family of 4: Will (explosives expert), An (midwife and social worker), Lukas 5 year and Max, 2 year very lively and curious boys. We eat bio, not veggie but menus can be adapted to your likes. We have a lodging room with a double bed.

We live in a townhouse but with a nice garden in a quiet neighbourhood. We just renovated our house and need now somebody with painting skills (furniture, ceiling) and/or somebody with carpenterskills to build garden furniture. We also need help in the garden (cutting grass, weeding, painting fences)
Our kids will love to assist you so you need to have steel nerves ...

Hi I'm Marc and I live in a square farm in Vechmaal. Vechmaal is a little village located in the province Limburg in Belgium next to the french part of Belgium. The farm is surrounded by fruit fields and beautiful nature where you can enjoy a fantastic walk. Every season has its beauty. Vechmaal is near Tongeren (the oldest town in Belgium build by the Romain's). In Tongeren you can visit the Romain museum and they have the biggest antique market from Europe on Sundays. Now about my philosophy of the farm. I want the farm to be a passage for people who are traveling in search of their path in life, consciousness, being, spirituality and self knowledge. I want it to be a place where people can share life knowledge, skills, philosophy and thoughts.
