Petra, Janez and Svit (2 year old) are our names. We are a young family which is creating a nice, pleasant place, where people would like to come, help, learn, teach, build and hang out. You are welcome to join us if you feel so.

3 years ago we bought a small old farm in a village which is quite isolated (market, post, bus etc. are 10km away). We renovated an old house so that now we can live in it (it could still need some more touch to be even more cosy). On the property there are still other buildings in a bad shape, so every year we try to make some things better - depends on how many hands we have to help, what material we have and what idea pops out. Janez is educated in natural building and has a lot of experience on it. So for this year we plan to renovate one building with straw and clay - and make it a room for winter time.

We offer the possibility to work on our small romantic ranch for free board and lodging to an open-minded, uncomplicated person who likes the contact to horses, animals and people. We are looking for volunteers for our project in Ljubljana Slovenia.
We are looking for native speakers of English for our project from 15 July to 15 August. We're organizing summer English courses for Russian students in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Therefore we need people who can teach English as a second language.
What are we waiting from our future teachers:
You are positive, patient, well- educated, responsible. It doesn't matter if you don't have large experience in teaching English, the most important for us that you can explain grammar and pronunciation, handle with adult students, prepare materials for lessons and discussions. We would like you to be a part of our command, spend some free time with our students, take a part in our activities : picnics, excursions, trips to other cities, workshops.

Our house is situated in a beautifull mountain village, caled Jezersko (www.jezersko.info). Most of the time we are alone in the house with my grandmother (I am 26, she is 77).We used to have rooms to rent, but today we do not rent them anymore. This year we are planing to paint the fences and balconies. There is also a lot of work in our yard, where you can help. In rooms you can use wireless internet conection, toilet and bathroom is shared. We have dog and cat. We are a family living on a hill 20 km south of the capital Ljubljana in a beautiful nature. Our small house is located in a small village, next to the forest and we have a big organic garden (4.000 meters of land). We bought the house and the land 3 years ago and slowly we want to turn it into a small permaculture paradise. The house is in the town of Podmelec in the Soca valley, Slovenia. The house is around 180 years old and is set over three floors with 3 bed rooms and a bathroom. I am in the process of a full restoration, I am a professional House rest-orator, and would like to meet people who enjoy to learn and have a go! We are an English couple with a 2 year old baby girl, who own a 6 bed roomed house in a small farming village near to Tolmin which we are renovating. We offer 3 quality meals a day for 6 hours of work a day with 2 days a week off. Accommodation is provided within the house. We have wireless Internet in all rooms and English Sky TV,and a pool table.We will need help painting and labouring .No experience needed as we will be happy to teach these skills.There is a river near by (but its quite a walk down a steep hill) where you can go swimming in the afternoons.There is a bar not far away with very friendly locals.There are many festivals here and party's in the summer.there is a very limited public transport system here, so if you are wanting to explore further than our local area then you will need a car.

I am looking for helpers this spring who are wanting to enjoy the beauty of the Soca Valley while helping me renovate my mothers house in a very picturesque location above Kobarid.

The house is well on its way to being finished, so I will need help painting, plastering and tiling. There will also be some carpentry you could try your hand at and if you like landscape gardening there's an area to the side of the house which could use some love.

Whilst DIY experience would be great its not essential as I'm more than willing to teach you what needs to be done. And, you don't need to be particularly strong either - I'm certainly not!

After your working day - which can either be in the morning or in the afternoon - as you prefer - you will be returned to Kobard where you will be staying.

I own Hemingway House B&B which is right in the centre of Kobarid which is in the heart of the picturesque Soca Valley...the river is short walk away and the town has many bars and restaurant... more inside
