Thank you to the wonderful helpers who stayed at my home this year. It is such a good experience to host helpers from all over the world. I've tried new recipes, had lovely dinners prepared, and enjoyed the company and help of so many great travellers.

I am looking for a helper beginning immediately and would love to have someone or a couple that can stay for September, October and November 2017. However I am willing to accomodate helpers for 2 or 3 weeks also. The fall is very beautiful here in Newfoundland and the hiking is great.
Helpers can contact me at my e mail address to discuss a stay. There's lots of nature, this is the place to visit. I will be extremely busy, so it is not always possible for me to spend a lot of time with helpers. I prefer helpers who are content to spend time at my cafe and then have quiet time at my home. People are very friendly here and it is easy to get a ride to St. John's.

I am a long term helper myself, so I always try to be k... more inside

This place is a century old, cozy fisherman's home at the edge of the Atlantic (great view!) that includes gardens and a hobby farm with goats and chickens. During the summer months it is a guesthouse visited by hikers along the East Coast Trail. Helpers from all over the world have enjoyed staying here throughout the year. You are expected to help with the farm, upkeep of the house and barn, and with taking care of the guests while also enjoying time to hike, sightsee and relax. Helpers are also welcome in the winter. Located 30 minutes from the center of St John's.

Particularly welcome are people who are handy and have some carpentry skills, e.g. to help building fences, repair a barn, etc.

We are a non profit organization and have been in operation since 2005. We are off-the-grid with microhydro and/or wind turbine on site. We are searching for people with 'handyman' skills including carpenters/builders who like being in nature and who like alternative living and self sufficiency. Tasks for helpers could include construction activities related to the main centre building, building green house, woodshed and accommodation spaces and firewood gathering. There is need for landscaping and especially focus on the organic gardens for those with a green thumb! We are flexible and helpers should work with what resonates inside them. We have lots of tools! We ask Helpers to contribute an average of 5 hours labour per day in addition to meal and clean-up times. We can usually get Helpers to and from the airport in St. John's.
