Hi!
Unfortunately we are not accepting helpers this year. We're in the process of becoming foster parents and right now we aren't allowed to have travelers in our home.
Good luck with your adventure :)

We're slowly growing. We have approx 100 free range laying hens, 8 geese,6 guinea fowl, rabbits and 20 ducks. During the summer we also raise meatking chickens, turkeys and pigs. We plan on expanding to grow heritage breed meat birds as well as duel purpose birds. We also plan on raising quail, peafowl and anything else our customers request.
Janet and I are fun and adventurous and we're trying to change the world one person at a time.
Our helpers tasks would include: weeding the garden, gathering eggs, helping us build new structures as well as maintaining existing infrastructure, and swimming in the pool on hot summer days and enjoying roasting marshmallows over a campfire in the evening. Fall season duties would include helping us butcher our poultry and harvesting th... more inside

**Seeking helpers right now for May!! Stay a few days or a few weeks!***

Welcome to our little homestead, an old farmhouse on a few acres of land bordering the Oromocto river. The capital city of Fredericton is just 15 minutes away by car, or one hour's bike ride on the nearby Trans-Canada Trail. There is a river in our backyard to enjoy, and a really nice sandbar beach just down the road from us.

We have many projects on the go, mainly around fixing up the house and growing more of our own organic food. During your visit, you might be looking after our small flock of happy chickens, maintaining our vegetable garden, planting fruit trees, building a greenhouse or gazebo, painting, and more. Experience is not required, but always welcomed.

We ask for 4 hours of help, 5 days per week. Then you have the rest of the day to relax with a book from our library, float on the river with a cool drink in hand, go swimming or for a canoe ride, go for a bike ride on the trail, play gui... more inside

Hi, we are a couple close to 50 years old but young at heart! We live in the country, on a wooded land that we bought a few years ago. We have many projects but not enough time to do everything! Amongst other things, we need hands to help us cut our wood (use a chainsaw if you are confortable using it, split the wood and pile it). We are also making walking trails on our land. We need help to clean the trails (cut and remove branches). Other possible tasks: Clean the flower beds, minor renovations, etc... An independant apartment will be provided with all necessary equipment (appliances, dishes, bed sheets, towels, etc...). We need one or two people for approximately 3-4 hours a day. Help needed from May to October. It can be for only one day, or up to two weeks at a time. Meals are not included but we can provide food for breakfasts and transportation to grocery store if you have no transportation.

Bonjour, nous sommes un couple près de la cinquantaine. Nous vivons sur une ter... more inside

We are looking for helpers for May and July to help in our market garden (planting, harvesting, weeding) and also to help around the house (cooking, cleaning, hanging out with kids)

Whether you want to come for the weekend or for a month, we will make things work. All ages are welcome to come learn with us as we grow!

We grow vegetables for a 30 member CSA (weekly veggie baskets) and for the market.

We are going to be doing many things throughout the season including: soil preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting, seed saving, drying, canning, and selling our veggies throughout the summer at the local farmer's market. We did some intense garden planning this winter and would be happy to show you how that was done. Some projects that we're excited about this summer, besides growing veggies, are building some small structures, making apple cider in the fall, and wild harvesting anything in season (fiddleheads, mushrooms, berries, etc). As long as you are willing to learn, w... more inside

Over the last dozen years with a lot of help from people from HelpX.net we have turned this place from an neglected piece of land to a really neat farm. This season we will be raising chickens, a couple of pigs and a couple of beef cattle plus a large organic garden and a small orchid. We also plan to spend a lot of time this summer working on trails and clearing land. Since 2005 we have had a total of 45+ people come and stay with us. Some come for as little as a week and others came for the season. Several helpers have even come back year after year. Located in the rolling hills of Prince Edward Island Canada this 150 acre farm has been certified organic. To date we have restored the original farmhouse and built or restored eight out-buildings, including a machine shop, Garage, pigionier(it's a long story) and a several barns, planted large garden and small orchard, made a large pond and cleared some trials in woods. Check out our website for pictures and information. Lots of wo... more inside

Hey There,
We are building our shelter this summer and would love to welcome extra helping hands and hearts!

We live on a 100+ acre woods/field that is part of a land trust with fellow community members. We have 2.5 acres to build our own personal homestead on and this will be our first summer transforming that idea into a reality.

We would love support building our strawbale home and are welcoming anyone who has ever wanted to learn how to build a home with primarily locally sources material. Our build will also include a rubble trench, earthbag construction elements, raw sheeps wool insulation, cedar shakes for our gable ends and an earthen floor. We will also be using cob to cover the walls! If you are at all interested in making art with us let us know!

Our accommodation will be tents (which we too will be sleeping in) and completely off grid with wifi at a nearby center.

We are asking for roughly 3-4 hrs energy exchange five days a week in exchange for 2-3 meals ... more inside
