It is a safe, warm, and dry environment where one can relax and be surrounded by nature. There is a network of nature trails connecting four small fish and frog ponds and the various cabins and tent platforms.

Workers are needed building greenhouse extensions, construction of out-buildings for food processing and storage, preparation of land for next year's gardens, wood splitting and processing, mulching, and composting.

We're slowly growing, with 1.5 acres of organic strawberries and a garden, and we plan on starting a CSA program. We have approx 80 free range laying hens, 3 geese and 5 ducks. During the summer we also raise meatking chickens and turkeys. We plan on expanding to grow heritage breed meat birds as well as duel purpose birds. We also plan on raising quail, rabbit and anything else our customers request.
Janet and I are fun and adventurous and we're trying to change the world one person at a time.
Our helpers tasks would include: weeding the garden/strawberries, gathering eggs, helping us build new structures as well as maintaining existing infrastructure, and swimming in the pool on hot summer days and enjoying roasting marshmallows over a campfire in the evening. Fall season duties would include helping us butcher our poultry and harvesting the garden and getting ready for winter.
We are a bit remote, but we do have cell phone reception and internet. We're 20 minutes from a lar... more inside

This is a small farm located on the outskirts of Saint John, New Brunswick. We grow vegetables, herbs and raspberries, which we sell at two local farmers markets and a roadside stand on the farm. 2013 is our third growing season.

Daily tasks for helpers may include: tending the gardens, foraging for wild berries, preparing for the farmer's market or the roadside stand, chopping firewood, and food preservation. Between the two of us we have varied skills and are happy to exchange information and knowledge. Amy is an artist who likes to cook and make preserves. Derrick works as an environmental consultant and has a background in forestry, permaculture and carpentry.

There is walking trail on the property and a small beach on the Saint John River with a bonfire pit. There are three kayaks which helpers may use to explore the area. Uptown Saint John is just a ten minute drive or 20 minute bike ride away. There are many attractions for new visitors to the city such as the City Mar... more inside

Welcome to our tiny homestead, an old farmhouse on a few acres of land bordering the Oromocto river, 20 km from Fredericton. We have several projects on the go, centering on fixing up the house and moving towards growing most of our own food.

If you come for a visit, you could be helping with such things as painting, building furniture, putting up fences, planting, weeding, or other garden or building projects. Experience not necessary, but always welcomed.

In return you get your own room and lots of good (vegetarian) food, the opportunity to swim or canoe from the backyard, a spare bicycle, and maybe even some homemade ice cream. When we have time we are happy to show our guests around and include you in our social activities, such as they are. We work hard sometimes but find time for fun as well. Length of stay is flexible.

We look forward to meeting you!

We took over this farm 3 years ago. The home is comfortable, but the barn and some of the land need a lot of work. We work without chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, not even those allowed by organic standards. All animals spent most of the time outdoors. We have dairy goats, chicken, lamas and horses. We have started selling some vegetables, preserves, bread, eggs etc at local markets and / or through retailers. We do some of the work with our horses. We are right on the Richibucto River.
We are looking for helpers that are willing to put in an honest days work because they are interested in farming, nature and animals. We work six days a week. We offer 3 meals a day, a room, the possibility to ride on our horses, to canoe and bicycle, free internet access, possibly use of the car and naturally the chance to learn a lot. We are in a location that is close to beaches, dunes, provincial and national parks.
There is no TV on the property. Excessive alcohol... more inside

We are a couple in our late 50's who were city born and city raised. We "quit the city" 10 years ago and are striving to achieve a self-sustainable lifestyle on our small homestead in rural New Brunswick. Our "farm" consists of two Jersey milk cows, free range chickens, a couple of summer pigs destined for the freezer, two dogs, a few cats and an organically managed garden. We would love to have guests to assist with the many chores involved in operating a small homestead....everything from handmilking the "girls" to gardening, brush clearing, fencing and small carpentry projects. We would offer room and board in exchange for 4 hours labour per day. We are approx 20 min drive from the coast and beach afternoons are entirely possible! We would love culinary and/or musically inclined helpers as I love to cook and hubby is a guitarist (jazz). We are non-vegetarian. Accommodation would be in a double bedded room with shared bathroom facilities. We can also offer a humble one room brook... more inside

We live on 100 acres: fields, gardens, raised beds, ponds, on a woodlot along a beautiful Heritage River. New Brunswick. Workers are needed to help us to establish a small permaculture CSA organic garden, build raised beds, plant berry trees, fencing, or even just help around the house, cook, or help build a small greenhouse or help buil a solar food dehydrator. We will service approximately 12 CSA families this year. We want our gardens to be a Centre where people can visit and learn about permaculture in our area. Our goal is to grow healthy food and inspire others, offer a hands-on learning place. We are in our first year developing the permaculture designs we just recently received. The gardens will be well thought, and designed to be functional, soul nourishing, with Wabanaki components. We have berry growing areas, many greens, ponds, medicines, flowers, arbors, small cottage and a log home. We would love to build a small green house of wood and windows for year-round pur... more inside

Old run down homestead. We have just started our seeds and plan a large garden. This summer we will have bees, chickens and goats and whatever else we come across. We operate a small wood-lot that we selectively harvest with an old growth forest as our goal. We are just starting and work will range from garden and livestock care to logging, fence building and tree planting. Accommodations are rustic in a wood heated farm house with access to plumbing and hot showers right next door in our home.
We would gladly provide room and board for a 4 hour workday, we are close to the sea and great beaches, surrounded in woods that you are free to roam.
