The farm is located 20 minutes from downtown Quebec. Le landscape is beautiful. The land and house bound the Jacques-Cartier River, an ideal location for nature lovers. It "is not" animals, only plants of vegetables and ornamentals. I work in the contract jardinnage for merchants in Quebec city center. Knowledge in horticulture and permaculture is desirable for monetary compensation, but not required in 100% exchange. Le garden nursery and greenhouse near the river Jacques Cartier. In addition, the possibility of staying in a cottage and utilize the teepe. I speak mostly French and a little's anglais. Je get all throughout the year. For cons, I've a very urgent need in April. I am anxious to meet you. Welcome to all.

Johanne

** The following in english, section en français au bas de la page, hablamos español, ni uzas esperanton.

We are starting a fruit tree nursery and organic family farm in a small and beautiful village between the sea and mountains of Gaspesie (Gaspe peninsula, Quebec). The project takes place on a 14 hectares land we own in Mont-Louis (between Sainte-Anne-des-Monts and Gaspe city). We live there surrounded by beautiful mountains, friends and neighbours. We are seeking help for the gardens, tree nursery and on building projects such as barn improvement, greenhouses, helpers' camping area and a new family house. Your experience and creativity can be put to good use and we are very open to your suggestions. Be aware that the project is just starting so we don't have much producing yet, just a lot of space! Although we are not rich, we have sufficient tools and resources to work steadily and efficiently.

In exchange for your help, we offer camping accommodation and can also provid... more inside

Nous sommes Andre et Daniel, who have decided to leave our comfortable urban existence and throw ourselves into the rural life. We haven't quite gone off the grid or gone full farming though. We bought an old conference center that used to be part of a vacation resort. The past five years of our lives have involved a lot of renovation work turning this commercial building into our home and our future life project. We haven't quite figured out the life project part, but that was the point of taking a 5-year sabbatical to get this project done. Come give us your insight and spark some ideas. CHECK OUT OUR PROGRESS AND PLANS (see photos link above).

If you would like to help out, there are plenty of rewards around here no matter the season. We are right next to a lake where you can swim or boat. There are 30km of trails for hiking or snowshoeing with lots more off-trail to explore. There's also groomed cross-country ski trails not far away. Lots of deers in the winter for those int... more inside

French description follows.

We are now planning our 2013 season and accepting applications. We will enumerate below what are the different projects for this spring, summer and fall. Hope to hear from you :)

First of all, we are a small Buddhist community of 3 people living self-sufficiently in the forest of Lanaudiere, Quebec, on a land of 20 acres. Our place is easily reached by a daily bus from Montreal. We are cultivating approximately 5 acres of the land. We grow heritage and hardy fruit trees (apple (over 200 varieties), pear, plum, cherries, apricot, strawberry, raspberry, haskap, blueberry, kiwis, etc) and vegetables. The other 15 acres are forest. We live in a log house; the other buildings are made of recycled materials. The helper will live in his own apartment with a bathroom and a small kitchen for his breakfast and dinner.

We have hundreds of projects, but are only 3 to make them come true so we need your help! We are eager to meet people from all over the worl... more inside

Greetings! Bonjour!
We are a young, married couple who are living in the family's big ancestral home. We are looking for general help to work around the house regarding:
Reparing/building a fence
Plumbing work
Creating a terrace area
Painting bedrooms and kitchen
Maintaining the vegetable garden, lawns & woodland

And... I guess I should mention we expect you to pick up after yourself and help with meal preparation.

We like music, football, reading, barbecue & fresh food! We joined HelpX because it is a great initiative, promotes exchanges, provides the help we need and if we were travelling we would definitely want to be Helpers...

We have a fair bit of land with a mini-beach along the Coaticook river. During your free time you can float down the river (if it is not too dry), bicycle and discover the valley (if you are not afraid of hills!).

Bonjour Voyageurs!
