Our organic fruit farm in the heart of Niagara is looking for cheerful strong interested people to help on the farm. We are close to St Catharines which is easily accessible by bus.

In the Summer : we work in the garden ,vineyard and orchard and go to Toronto markets three times a week. We can accommodate helpers in our home or a private 2 bedroom farm trailer. In the house we have a big bedroom with a private bathroom and TV room which can accomodate two people.

In winter we prune the vines and trees unless it is Very cold then we find chores to do inside the house or barn.

Helpers usually work 5-6 hours a day, five days a week. While some jobs require a longer day (especially during harvest) there's always rain days when we catch up with email and TV.

We treat our helpers like family which means that they eat the same food we do (excellent organic meals). Laura does the cooking and all pitch in to help clean afterwards. If you have special dietary or health needs p... more inside

We are located in Ontario Canada, on Manitoulin Island the largest fresh water Island in the world, heart of the great lakes. This large Island has 108 inland lakes and sandy beaches.
We have a 1/4 h garden that provides organic local food for our artisan bakery & events restaurant. We host a dinner event called Gourmet Garden Gig with live entertainment Wednesdays and Saturdays in July and August.
Our garden provides a space to linger and enjoy a cup of tea at lunch time. We teach our help-x about most we do. You like to learn gardening, bee-keeping, cooking, herbs, remedies and selling good food, your are a great fit for our small but very diverse little business. Farm to Table is what it is called in Canada. Since we teach various skills we prefer help-x to stay a minimum of 2 weeks, best learning experience will be 4-6 weeks with us.
Both Guy and I love sharing life's knowledge how to live sustainable with a small carbon footprint.
You will have your own room with shared ... more inside

Permaculture Nursery seeking help from May 1st until mid-September, 2018.
Our nursery specializes in rare perennial vegetables and salad plants, and other useful plants for low-maintenance edible landscapes. We have demonstration gardens that we eat from, and workshops on how to design low-maintenance, self-fertile edible ecosystems. We practice permaculture and forest gardening, and we're trying to make a productive homestead that's also ecologically rich and diverse. We love experimenting with new plants and have extensive experience growing a wide range of unusual and delicious edibles. We just finished building a beautiful little cabin for our helpers. It's a few steps from the wild Beaver river where you can swim or go canoeing. We're located in the Beaver Valley, which is a beautiful, natural and very wild piece of the Niagara Escarpment. Come join the fun!

December, 2017: Winter break on the West Coast, after a super westbound leg of the x-country trip on the 5th Great Adventure.
So happy to have built the.GREAT ROOM extension with farm grown, felled and milled wood before we left. Thanks to Stephen and Raphael.

Happy to accept helpxers from April 1st, 2018.

So, no pics of snow blowing after a monster storm, no pics of maple syrup production, of the vegetable garden, of the many flower beds to be kept, of the wide expanse of lawns to mow, of weed whacking, forest management and maintenance, the portable saw-mill, the summer cottage, rhubarb chutney processing, the asparagus bed, the apple harvest, and no pics of the fitness room/ soccer field, trampoline or the five workshops.
WHAT HELPX MEANS TO ME: Giving HelpXers a chance to be creative, inventive, resourceful and independent, given access to the extensive machinery and equipment that is available. Sure, the camaraderie and companionship are important, as are the opport... more inside

Looking for fun and helpful individuals interested in visiting Toronto. Looking for company and some general help around the house.

You will do things like cleaning, cooking, laundry, ironing, errands and the like - around 2-3 hours each day - without my needing to chase after you. Might also be interested in any special skills you have.

You will be sleeping in my living room. I have a cot for you to use, as well as a couch, should you prefer that. The neighborhood is known as Little Jamaica or Eglinton West. There is a Tim Hortons downstairs, two pharmacies across the street, and a big library, supermarket and a couple banks are a couple blocks away.

I generally prefer that you are back by late evening so we can hang out. You can stay out late occasionally, with a general weekday curfew of 1030pm and weekend curfew of 1130pm. This is not the place to stay if you are hoping to be out clubbing etc regularly.

Offering space to stay and as much coffee as you can handle. Th... more inside

Gardening, forestry
We live in a small cottage on a friendly lake about 3 hours north of Toronto.
We have the usual cottage toys available, canoe, small sailboat, row boat. Looking for help with selective cutting trees for firewood and lumber which we cut on our own small mill. Hopefully someone that is a better gardener than we are as we would like to start growing our own produce and maybe even get some chickens. Help with some construction and painting projects. We have some old machinery we are always trying to keep running. We are offering free accommodation and meals in exchange for help.
This is a no smoking environment.

Greetings Weary Travelers!

I will consider helpers for April 2018. Enjoy your travels!

I WOULD PREFER HELPERS WHO ARE 25 TO 40 YEARS OLD, PERHAPS, BUT NOT NECESSARILY, WITH SKILLS IN CONSTRUCTION, CARPENTRY OR ELECTRICAL OR ABLE TO HANDLE GAS POWERED EQUIPMENT FOR GARDENING.

We are situated on 22 acres with spectacular views of the countryside-just one hour north of Toronto by car and accessible by GO train or GO bus to Orangeville where I can pick you up.
There are three bedrooms available to helpers decorated as India, the Mediterranean or the Commonwealth, with two single beds in each and great views. Each room has indoor and outdoor access. There is a lower room leading to the garden just for helpers to read, view videos and play games. Laundry available as well. Now a picture perfect bunkie for 2 or 3 is available, thanks to the hard work of helpers. Most recently, we have added a small private ZEN room for peace or meditation. There is an indoor salt water po... more inside
