We are located in Laurier, a largely French speaking but tiny community situated 3 hours N.W of Winnipeg, Manitoba. With hard work on part of myself and many helping hands along the way, this place has grown from my small family home into an eclectic and cozy 3 story/5 bedroom BnB.

We are open weekends and hosts a variety of events from large themed holiday dinners (up to 32 persons) as well as living room style concerts (up to 70 persons indoors and out) featuring talented bands from across the Canada and the world.

We have a lot going on, itís true, but at itís heart is my home and it is a place to gather, exchange stories, talents and experiences.

I am looking for Helpxers with diverse range of talents and skills for the property as it is ever expanding. Some jobs include: construction, serving, cooking, cleaning etc.
Helpxers are supplied with a big, big roof over their head, hot food on their plates, an ever changing array of interesting folk and leave, most importa... more inside

Hi! We have room available for helpers year round, on our ranch. We have had to sell most of our cows in March. But we still have 12 horses on our farm. Volunteers are always welcome throughout the year and you can learn a lot about looking after animals, looking after fences, some gardening, yard work, house work, and whatever else is involved in ranching and maintaining one throughout the year. We own about 400 hectares of land, and make hay during summer months. Experience is not necessary, and it's not hard to learn here!

Many horses are also available, some were professionally broke for riding, others could use some training. Volunteers that ride and like to work with horses are always welcome too! There are plenty of bicycles to use here, in summer, and we are near the lake, if you like swimming, bonfires, or skating/playing hockey on our lake in winter.

If you like being around animals, and are energetic, enjoy working outdoors and want to experience quiet country ... more inside

We have a cottage we call home in a subdivision of Petersfield, located 45 minutes north of Winnipeg. Petersfield is a very small town, but if you are looking to experience the rural prairie lifestyle you would have a great time with us.

We recently added a beautiful baby boy (Theodore) to our family. He is basically dictating our lives these days. We would be looking for helpers who are comfortable with kids and wouldn't be put off by potentially being awaken by a crying baby at night.

We have an organic garden, heat our home with wood and live 1/2 a block from a private community beach, which is excellent for canoeing, swimming and fishing in the summer; and skating, ice fishing and snowshoeing in the winter.

We have a guest bedroom for 1 person or a couple. The room has plenty of space for all of your things. We have fresh linens and quilts for the room, along with anything else you might need.

We have 2 dogs and a cat.

We are full for 2017 - Thank you!

The best of both worlds, we are just one kilometer to the city bus for journeys into Winnipeg, but still enjoy the serenity of the country on our 5 hectare acre organic farm, nestled between the LaSalle and Red Rivers.

Come help with our intensive market garden, our sheep and our small chicken flock. We take our produce to Manitoba's largest farmers' market, 5 minutes from our home, and run a small CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Learn how we inter-connect greenhousing and high tunnels, permaculture, chicken tractors, composting and small-scale production, to be a self-sustaining family farm. Our homeschooling family enjoys good conversations over meals that are organic, often vegetarian and gluten-free. When we eat meat, we only buy from sustainable sources. Our house is geo-thermally heated, and we aim to be energy efficient and natural, using clay painted walls, broken tile flooring, and natural elements. It's all a work in progress,... more inside

Hello!
We are a cattle and horse operation located in the beautiful Interlake region of Manitoba. We are 150 km north of Winnipeg. We have a working cattle and horse operation as well as a few goats, chickens and other pets. Our family is active in the rodeo arena so we stay busy year round. Helpers on the ranch would be working with us on day to day ranch duties. Riding young horses being mostly what takes up our time. Gardening and other regular farm chores would be on the agenda as well.
