We have a 100 head cattle ranch and many horses, if you like to ride. There are always alot of things to do on the ranch when you have cattle and horses and chickens. You don't have to have experience to volunteer here. Alot of the work is with cattle and we treat our animals well. The cows all have names and they're very tame to work with. We've been using our ranch to teach many young people about ranching/farming, so if you want a real hands on experience, you can get it here! We enjoy sharing our lifestyle with people from around the world and we provide meals and we have many beds downstairs, in our home with us. You will have all the extras like free phone use within Canada, internet in the evenings, laundry facility, satellite tv, and more. We are located on the north end of Lake Dauphin, a lovely area all year round. We have horses to ride, bikes available, and swimming at our lake, and campfires and many other things to do in spare time. Helpers will be helping with catt...

We are excited to announce the continuation of our Wanipigow Garden and Trail Project in Hollow Water, Manitoba. Consider this an open invitation to join us while we tend to gardens, swim in the Wanipigow river and enjoy the land with great company.
Our goals for this summer are to work with our community partners at the Adam Hardisty Health Center and Ravens Creek ecotourism to support gardening on three large plots and over a dozen raised beds for community elders. The gardens will be the location for educational workshops on starting a garden, pickling and preserving, fall planting and cooking in season. We also plan to work with local youth and wilderness experts to build trails which showcase places of particular beauty, ecological and cultural significance.
Hollow Waters traditional lands are located in the Heart of the Boreal, the worlds largest remaining intact Boreal forest. This makes it all the more important for our planet that development in this community puts th...

The best of both worlds, we are just one kilometer to the city bus for journeys into Winnipeg, but still enjoy the serenity of the country on our 5 hectare acre organic farm, nestled between the LaSalle and Red Rivers.
Come help with our intensive market garden, our goats and our small chicken flock. We take our produce to Manitoba's largest farmers' market, 5 minutes from our home, and run a small CSA (Community Shared Agriculture). Learn how we inter-connect greenhousing and high tunnels, permaculture, chicken tractors, composting and small-scale production, to be a self-sustaining family farm. Our winter business is vermiculture: we provide vermicomposting worms and kits and educational programs to schools. Our homeschooling family enjoys good conversations over meals that are organic, often vegetarian and gluten-free. When we eat meat, we only buy from sustainable sources. Our house is geo-thermally heated, and aim to be energy efficient and natural, using clay painted wall...
