3 months ago we moved back to our roots, the prairies. Although we loved the west coast truly and deeply, the beautiful open sky of the prairies and the open hearts of the prairie people have called us home to make a homestead where Christina's ancestors settled when they first came to Canada nearly a century ago. We are currently living in the quiet and peaceful community of Hafford, while we save up our funds to make our dream of organic farming on the prairies a reality. Ian is working full time and Christina needs help with the huge garden we are planting and basic household chores(cooking, cleaning, and minding the children). We have two young and lively children (Gabriel is 3 and a half, and Molly will be two in August). If you are looking to embrace the "simple" and "real" life of the prairies, are community minded, and love children and grass roots living, we would love to have you stay with us. We are close to Redberry Lake Biosphere and the city of Saskatoon.

Welcome to the sunny and spacious Parkland area of Saskatchewan where you can see for miles/km in every direction. In the words of a German guest, "Mann kann sich nicht sattsehen, an diesem Himmel. Auch Licht und Farben sind unübertroffen sowie die klare und trockene Luft". We operate a mixed farm and Market Garden approximately 140km east of Saskatoon. Because our farm is near Lake Lenore, we have a beautiful view of the lake while we work in the garden. Occasionally, wild deer come wandering through the yard and garden. You can also see moose, coyotes, foxes, bald eagles, wild geese and ducks and many songbirds. The animals on our farm include cows, pigs, chickens, cats and 2 lovely dogs--Lady and Chloe. We often share work, play and meals with our young grandchildren and their parents. We are looking for people who are willing to help in the garden with planting, weeding, mowing, harvesting, preparing for the Farmers' Market and anything else that needs doing. Help with meal prep...

We are located on a farm 10km out of town (45 minutes from Regina) and are always looking for general greenhouse help. There is always work available throughout the summer months, as we run a large greenhouse operation. Such work may include planting, weeding, fixing and building. Also, if you enjoy activities such as cooking, etc., those are always more than welcome as well. In addition to our greenhouse, we also have 3 horses, dogs and a cat. Our yard is fairly large, so there is always some yard work to be done.
Our family also includes 4 grown childern, on their own (Saskatoon, Regina, Fort Qu'Appelle), but frequently come home for vists. We are always looking forward to meeting and working with new people! And we look forward to your interest/replies!

My husband, Larry, and I own and operate a 300+ beef cow/calf operation. Horses are used on the ranch to check and work cattle. We are looking for individuals who would be interested in helping from the beginning of April to end of June calving out the herd and getting cattle out to pasture. Some things you may help with could be looking after animals, Fence/Corral/Building maintenance possibly operating quad/tractor/feed truck. I am a Veterinary Technician so if you are interested in Animal Sciences you could learn a lot here. I also do all the hoof work on our horses. You will be accepted as a member of the family and will be expected to pitch in with house hold chores. We have a piano and I sing and play guitar. I also write "cowboy poetry". In your spare time, you are welcome to saddle up and explore our many trails and enjoy the abundant wildlife in our "backyard". Our Ranch is located on the edge of the Boreal forest. Located near the beautiful Moose Mountains in southeast Saskatchewan we operate a small scale, grass based livestock farm situated on native prairie. Our farm offers a wonderful opportunity to explore our tree filled ravines and discover evidence of life in Saskatchewan before European settlers, such as First Nation teepee rings and buffalo rub stones. We are trying to live a self sustaining life, so our farm is constantly evolving. We have a variety of animals such as meat and egg chickens, turkeys, geese, pigs, beef cows and Jersey milk cows. All animals live on pasture and are moved to fresh grass regularly. Jobs range from feeding and moving the animals to milking cows, yard and garden work and even childcare for our two young daughters. There is work for people of all skill levels. We are experienced travelers and have a good understanding of what it is like to be in a new land. We love meeting people and sharing in their customs. Warren can speak basic Spanish. Welcome!
