Welcome to the sunny and spacious Parkland area of Saskatchewan where you can see for miles/km in every direction. In the words of a German guest, "Mann kann sich nicht sattsehen, an diesem Himmel. Auch Licht und Farben sind unübertroffen sowie die klare und trockene Luft". We operate a mixed farm and Market Garden approximately 140km east of Saskatoon. Because our farm is near Lake Lenore, we have a beautiful view of the lake while we work in the garden. Occasionally, wild deer come wandering through the yard and garden. You can also see moose, coyotes, foxes, bald eagles, wild geese and ducks and many songbirds. The animals on our farm include cows, pigs, chickens, cats and a very friendly border collie dog, Chloe. We often share work, play and meals with our young grandchildren and their parents. We are looking for people who are willing to help in the garden with planting, weeding, mowing, harvesting, preparing for the Farmers' Market and anything else that needs doing. Help wit... more inside

Father and son mixed grain operation in beautiful south east saskatchewan. Located 1 hour south east of Regina SK. 1 hour from the breathtaking views and serenity of the moose mountains. 1.5 hours from the historic bad lands offering a great history of the Wild West.
Locally, the plains offer a wide variety of wildlife to be observed. Deer, moose, foxes and coyotes can be observed frolicking around the property. Spring and fall is an excellent time to observe migratory birds passing over head.
There are also many lakes close by for soaking up the sun, swimming, motor sports or fishing.
The small town of Fillmore offers many amenities and has a fairly active youth crowd.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if interested.

Thanks,

Have you always wondered what it takes to farm in Canada? How to operate large equipment? Or what it means to farm organically?

We are a fun loving, Canadian/German family which is embarking on our farm adventure in Saskatchewan. Alongside our father, who is an established organic farmer, we are starting our own ogrganic farm focusing on grains.

We accept helpers year round, however, seeding will start in May and harvest typically is starting as early as August.

As we transition into full-time farming, we have to maintain jobs in Alberta. That said, Mark's parents will host you in their house throughout your stay. We will be 'out' in SK every weekend and during all our vacation which is - of course - scheduled during busy season.

Our family is grateful for any help you provide in return teach you all we know about organic farming, crop rotation, and how to operate tractors and other equipment.

During your spare time, you could visit Saskatoon, Regina, Lake Diefenba... more inside
