We live in a beautiful 8 acer piece of land in the Slocan Valley. We are a family of 4,( we have 2 young boys). We have a large garden , which is a big part of our lives, and we try to grow enough vegetables to get us through the Winter. We also have other projects on the go that we want to get done this year like , building a cord meditation cabin , a solar shower, and a better out-house. We are also very busy with our business in the summer. We sell clothing from India at markets and music festivals , so we will also be needing help with this. We have either a guest cabin, or trailer or tipi as accommodation. We are vegetarian and eat organic food. Looking forward to an exchange with you! Come join us in paradise!

We are looking for someone as of May 18th to come and help in the garden.
We are a family of 3, David and Laure with an inquisitive seven year old boy, 1 puppy, 2 cats and chickens. David is from here and Laure is from France. Our love of nature has led us to build on a beautiful piece of land and develop an organic garden with the help of a live-in, french Quebecois gardener, Michel. Laure has a horticulture background and David a degree in Natural Resources.
In exchange for a meal a day and a private camper, we are looking for motivated people to spend about 15 hours a week in the garden, or construction help...we have many projects on the go to choose from. The camper has running water and a propane stove We are happy to share our kitchen and eating on the large deck.
We are in the beautiful Slocan valley and enjoy a pristine river and stunning wilderness views. There IS wildlife: Turkeys, coyotes, bears, cougars, deer, elk, and mountain goats.
We are a fifteen minut...

Currently I am looking for helpers from June 2013 and onwards.
I am not a farm. I live in town in a 5 bedroom home, (15 minutes walk from Nelson centre).
If you are looking for a pause between farm stays, or you are interested in the life around Nelson, British Columbia, I might be ideal for you.
My background is in Communication. I have been involved in the 60's creating video art. In the 70's I helped to establish community radio stations in Montreal and Vancouver. In Denmark, I managed a theatre. Back in Canada I traveled with a slide-show presentation on my travels in Nepal. I am full of stories and questions. I am enthusiastic to learn from you and share experiences.
I have now lived in Nelson for 30 years. In this time I have created a community newspaper. "The Express" has now morphed into a PDF publication. So, I am very interested in communication. I have also just opened up a 50 seat performance venue. It works mainly for acoustic music and movies. I live...

We are a small backpacker's lodge in the Canadian Rocky Mountains right next door to Kootenay National Park. Owners/hosts are a German-Australian couple with a passion for cycling, travelling, nature, scrabble and meeting people from around the world. We can accommodate up to 28 people in 7 rooms. We like our place to be clean & comfortable with a relaxed, friendly feeling. Watching the sun set over the mountains while chatting with people on our lovely (820 sq.ft) deck is our favourite way to end the day.
The area offers lots of exciting opportunities: hiking, kayaking, white-water rafting to name just a few. Wildlife is abundant (and visits the property frequently :-) Radium Hot Springs is a small community, everything (including the hot springs) is within walking distance. Community bus service is available weekdays for trips to neighbouring Invermere on the Lake. Greyhound provides service to Banff, Calgary and Golden. We also have an assortment of bicycles available for tr...

Our family-owned 150 acre farm in Armstrong, BC is looking for a few young, enthusiastic folk to help contribute to a vision of a multifaceted, sustainable, organic farm. If you plan to start your own farm some day this is a great opportunity to learn how to start up a farm business with the help of some experienced farmers and the freedom to experiment with new, innovative techniques. We have more ideas of what we’d like to do with the farm then we have hours in the day. With the ample resources, experience and skill at hand, most of these visions are only a jump away. It’s the motivation of others keen interest that could give us that extra push to build something amazing. And we’re happy to share with others. Here’s a few of our ideas: -Pasture raised, better then organic chicken. This is already in the works. I’m just building an indoor/outdoor brooder area right now. Lots of space and healthy clean conditions makes for good healthy chicks and low mortality. Then I plan to...

Our ranch is a tidy farm that organically raises lamb, Berkshire pork, garlic and a market greenhouse. We are looking for a responsible person/pair of people who are non smokers for September/October 2013 or earlier. The main job in Sept/Oct is harvesting from the greenhouse and outdoor market gardens, managing sheep and pigs through their grass pasture rotations, planting garlic along with various interesting farm chores. There is a chance that we will be haying during that time as well. At our farm you can gain a lot of hands on animal experience. We are gentle with our animals and giving them a good life is our main priority. We work hard and we are good, fun people to work with. We grow nearly everything we eat here on farm and we love to cook good food. It is important to us that you enjoy your stay. In return we ask that you come willing to work hard with a good attitude and an open mind.
We have kind, well trained horses to ride if you have riding experience.
We have pr...

We are looking for someone as of may 8th to come and help in the garden.
We are a family of 4: Annie & Chris, with 2 energetic boys 6 and 8 years old, 1 dog, 1 cat and 11 chickens. Our German and Quebec roots found new soil here in the heart of the Slocan valley. In exchange of food and a roof we are looking for some help in the garden mostly in spring and fall. The garden is a very important part of our life and is getting bigger every year. Still new at it we are learning a lot. We are very interested in Permaculture and self-sustainability. We are looking for motivated help for the preparation of the soil: primarily and foremost lots of weeding, digging and planting. Many other tasks available though.
We offer a beautiful environment to spend some time in the Kootenays, good healthy food and a camper as private space. We are happy to share our small kitchen.
We live on a beautiful open piece of land in midst of the Slocan valley, 3 km north of the village of Winl...
