We are looking for a friendly person to come and help on the property, garden, construction and babysitting. We have many ongoing projects and will appreciate support in different areas.
We are a family of 4: Annie & Chris, with 2 energetic boys 10 and 12 years old, 2 dogs, 2 cats and 30 chickens. Our German and Quebec roots found new soil here in the heart of the Slocan valley a few years ago....

The garden is a very important part of our life and is getting bigger every year. We are very interested in Permaculture and self-sustainability. We are looking for motivated help for the preparation of the soil: primarily and foremost lots of mowing, digging and planting. Many other tasks available though!

We offer a beautiful environment to spend some time in the Kootenays, good healthy food and a private space. We have a beautiful farm overlooking Kootenay Lake and the Purcell Mountains in the Kootenay area of south-eastern B.C. There is always help needed to take care of the horses. Other typical projects involve maintaining the fences, gardening, and painting. Depending on the season we may also be harvesting fruit and preserving it. If you are interested in 'food security' you can gain experience with us.

We are a gay male couple living on an almost 90 acre, off-grid land co-operative.
We have cellular / mobile service, and intermittent internet.
We produce our own power using a micro-hydro system which is currently generating 8 KW and is shared by us and the five other households on the land.
This land co-operative works together and plays together but is not a commune. We cultivate lifestyles of low-impact modern living in intentional community while living independently. We aim toward a lifestyle of voluntary simplicity.

We have a large community garden which is not certified organic, but we follow organic gardening principles and beliefs.

We focus on organic growing methods such as hugelculture and permaculture although we are always interested in learning about new ways to grow. We strive toward total food self-sufficiency, however - we are still a long way from that being a reality but close enough to see that it's nearly within our grasp!

We are located a few minutes outside of beautiful Golden, BC. Minutes away from some of the best rafting, mountain biking and skiing around. We have an awesome opportunity for anyone wanting to learn more about Eco home building or starting a homestead from scratch. We purchased a 8 acre property that was completely forested a few years ago and have built our Eco home that we just moved into just over a year ago. Things are still under construction in many areas of the property.
We are able to offer a self contained 21' trailer with own kitchen and bathroom to one person or possibly a couple that are good with their hands and enjoy working outside. In exchange for 4 hrs work per day we will provide comfortable accommodation and all meals. Work would involve assisting with building projects, some landscaping and gardening. There is flexibility to work longer some days and have some days off in order to relax or explore the area.

If you like mountains, wildlife and exercise and you are interested in a true country experience this is the place to be. We would welcome any help and would love people to share their organic knowledge with us. No experience is necessary just enthusiasm and a love of the outdoors. Throughout the year we have a wide variety of tasks to do.
In March and April the cows are calving and we often complete some small building projects. In May we are preparing the fields for planting; there is ploughing, discing, seeding, picking rocks and setting up the irrigation system. We also plant the large vegetable garden in May and June. For the rest of the summer we are haying, moving irrigation pipes twice daily, building and fixing fences, gardening, hand pulling invasive weed species, and on checking the cattle, harvesting garlic, sometimes traveling to the Farmer's Market on saturdays
There are tasks for all skill levels and strengths so don't be afraid to join us.
