I'm a single woman who has a 1/2 acre property (.20 hectares) that breeds mostly goats, but also ducks, & occasionally dogs (I have a chocolate lab & 2 Blue Heeler/Border Collie x). I also have a few chickens, a couple of parrots & 3 cats. I'm friendly & easy-going & am a non-smoker, non-drinker & no drugs & my children are grown up & have left home. I live very close to the bus stop (about a 5 minute ride to Langley) or you can easily go to Vancouver or to the beach on your day off if you like as well. There is some shopping & a wave pool/gym within a 20 minute walk as well. I'm also close to the U.S. border if you want to do a day trip there. I also have a bike available if you desire. I work at the local (harness horse) racetrack, so you will have an opportunity to come to the races if desired & meet some of the trainers & drivers.

In the winter & spring, I have lots of baby goats being born & also early spring the ducklings start. As it's just me, I would love having some ass... more inside

Hi there! We're looking for help in our orchard & garden for the 2013 growing season.

We request a 2 week minimum stay & 4 hours of work per day. Although we don't include (daily) prepared meals, you can eat what we produce (fruits, veggies, & eggs), and have ice cream daily from our fruit stand. You'd also be invited to our big family meals (usually) 3 times a week. Helpers over the years have really enjoyed this mix of group/family meals & solo cooking :)

Accommodation is a cosy & private (for helpers only) cottage with a full kitchen (+BBQ) & indoor plumbing (toilet/shower/tub), WI-FI, & available laundry.

Our orchards produce peaches, pears, apples, plums, apricots, & cherries. Also, we have a large vegetable garden (herbs, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, squash, eggplant, melons, etc.). With the garden and the orchards, we sell direct to the public via our fruit stand. Our veggies are spray free & we use minimal early-season spray in the orchards.

We are renovating our older home in Gibsons. A beautiful property with a large yard near town. Gibsons is only 40 minute ferry ride away from Vancouver. An easy commute on your days off. After work head to the many beaches within walking distance or borrow a kayak and head out to sea (maybe spot a dolphin or killer whale?) My experience as a site superintendent gives me plenty of skills as to what we want to accomplish but I will need help. I am a great teacher and love to pass on my knowledge of Canadian wood frame construction methods.

LAST MINUTE!!! HAD SOMEONE CANCEL NEED SOMEONE FOR MAY 20TH TO JUNE 5TH.

We currently have room for one more helper or a couple from July 1st onward.
We have a Vineyard located in the beautiful Similkameen Valley. Cawston is 40 minutes drive from Penticton and offers lots of recreational opportunities. Hiking,Swimming & Tubing in the Similkameen river are just some of those activities. The Similkameen Valley is a large producer of fresh fruit and vegetables with many traditional and organic orchards, farms and vineyards. Most of our work is spent outside in the vineyard with pruning, thinning, planting and mowing. There is a small portion of the year when we harvest the grapes, usually the first part of October. Accommodation and meals would be with our family, sharing cooking and cleaning responsibilities. We have a dog and five house cats. We would love to have you visit and share our home with you!
