30 acres of mixed forest,pasture and large pond, very close to the Cowichan river and hiking trails. We have 4 greenhouses 90x30 for vegetables for local market. Accommodation is either a travel trailer or bedroom in the house. Hours of volunteering is 5 hrs/day 5 days a week. Work is mainly harvesting, planting or weeding the vegetables. We raise chicken and sheep for meat. We also have horses,dogs and cats. Meals are non vegetarian.

We are a fun, creative, musical family. We have 3 children 8,3,2.
We love to grow organic food, we live right beside the cowichan river, you can see it from our property and we swim in the river everyday in the summer, its also great for tubing.
We like adventures and spend a lot of time outdoors.

We would enjoy having a cheerful mature person helping us around the property, i.e. grounds clean up, some weeding/gardening - assistance with replanting, finishing and painting the inside of a small accessory shed and building garden boxes, some maintenance. Carpentry skills welcomed.
We live on 5 oceanfront treed acres. Our acreage and dwelling are totally non-smoking and no drugs are allowed. A private bedroom, bathroom and shower, with its own entrance, attached to our house, is available for your stay. Also available is a canoe and bicycles.
Meals are shared. Our meals consist of organic fruits and vegetables when available, mostly gluten free [but not necessarily if you are not wheat intolerant], wild fish and free range naturally fed chicken.
Friendly small non allergenic dog in residence.

Denman Island is a wonderfully quiet, sunny, nature-drenched place to spend a summer! Denman is a welcoming, open-minded community with lots of interesting folks and activities (http://www.denmanisland.com has tons of info about the island.)
We have 16 mostly-forested acres next to miles of hiking trails, and near ocean beaches. We're creating an organic homestead, ideally a food forest one day.
Would you like to contribute to a sustainable, healthy small farm? There is a lot to be done, and we need strong, enthusiastic, motivated hands to help with some of these tasks this year...

We are currently looking for a helper to work with us between now (late May) and late June, and are also looking for someone (or several someones) to join us in September and October of this year.
My partner Jessica and I run a very small Community Supported Agriculture program from a half-acre of fertile land near the south end of Quadra Island. Building and nurturing healthy soil is our passion. We strongly believe that well-balanced, living soil is essential for producing the most nutritious vegetables possible.
Jessica and I met in 2004 while studying horticulture in the Vancouver area. in 2010 we moved away from the city to Quadra Island to pursue our dreams of a life with plants. In early 2011 we began farming our current field.

I have been homeschooling my kids for a few years (in French) and we need someone for helping with the family household and child care (and babysitting). Our helper is always part of our family. We love making activities (museum, Hiking...) and we also have a garden and love to grow some vegetables!
We love camping and traveling.

This is a small tour company based out of Sandspit on the Queen Charlotte Islands, or Haida Gwaii. We run boat tours into Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and run B&B style accommodations in Sandspit. Throughout the year we take volunteers to help with general labour, carpentry, yardwork etc. During the operating season (May through September) we also need help at our B&B in Sandspit and at our remote floating lodge at the north edge of Gwaii Haanas. We are welcoming singles or mature couples immediately and especially for May and June. Carpentry skills in particular welcomed. 5 minutes walk from the beach, our 3-acre sunny property is located on a southwest facing slope in a quiet rural setting with views all round of mountains and ocean plus an active eagle's nest. Activities will include maintenance of vegetable beds, maintenance of trails and exterior stairs, and construction of a poultry "tractor"and possibly a new greenhouse. The three weeks before June 15th/16th we need help preparing for the Denman Island Home and Garden Tour which our property is part of . In season, Helpers will help care for a wide variety of organic vegetables, berries, fruit trees as well as poultry and rabbits, including composting, weed control, mowing the meadow, harvesting and processing produce. We are seeking help in and around our household. We are open and flexible, with lots of chores to choose from (childcare, garden work, firewood chopping, path creation, building, piggycare..) there is always something to be done!
We have lots of projects going on at our place including the building of a composting toilet outhouse and a strawbale cob wall with living roof, the building of which is being facilitated by the MudGirls.
Located centrally on beautiful Salt Spring Island, with a view of the ocean, we offer a lovely and convenient spot to stay awhile.

Located on a lake on beautiful Quadra Island. This area is famous for outdoor recreational opportunities - canoeing, hiking, beach combing. Helpers will have access to a canoe and kayak, and will be able to paddle up the series of five lakes. This is a remote area, and it takes about 30 minutes drive to get to the local store, library and pub. Many recreational opportunities are available on the island - from Kayak Tours to Whale Watching expeditions.
I need help getting in the winter's supply of wood. Some heavy lifting of rounds for splitting (I have an electric log splitter for gentle use by the ladies) and pulling of brush to burning pile. Also need some help establishing a new garden area. Man or lady capable of 5-6 hours a day - Monday through Friday - in exchange for room and board. Saturdays are less hours and Sundays are off. Private bedroom with twin beds.
