I live on a northern gulf is. between Vancouver Is. and the west coast of B.C. My farm is located on a ridge overlooking a wetland reserve and Baynes sound facing Hornby Is. There is hiking, biking, skiing in season, bird watching. Mt Wasington is 1 hr away. I have two border collies. Duties include gardening maintaining my chickens and some carpentry. It is small and rural and friendly. My house is constructed from recycled materials and at times referred to as hippy gothic. This is life in the slow lane and natural beauty abounds.

We live on an 18 acre farm in Metchosin Victoria and we have been hosting travellers for the past 2 years. We love the program and it has been a great experience for my 5 girls. On the farm and the farm next door we have chickens, dogs, cats, horses, ducks, peacocks, and sheep. There is always something going on in our household and as we don't travel much (with horses, dogs, and kids) we would like to introduce our children to cultural diversity by participating in a farmstay program. Work around the property could be caring for animals, maintaining the fields/fences/barn, garden work, and/or cooking (if you like to cook).
UPDATE: We are currently looking for helpers for the next few months!

I am living on a 5 acre property surrounded by forrest with four horses, a dog and two cats. So you must like animals. There is always help needed with maintaining the property like building, painting and a little bit of gardening. No specific skills needed. The most of the time we will work together. So we will have fun!
A minimum stay of about two weeks is requested. I can pick you up at the Greyhound Station in Parksville or the ferry terminal in Nanaimo. Helper(s) will be accommodated in their own new studio (see pictures) with shower, composting toilet, heating and electricity. WiFi is availabel in the main house.
There is a car and a bike for your use so you can explore the nice area around. A lot of opportunity for hiking, scenic views and swimming in summer. You can even take the dog with you.
It is a 10 min. drive to Parksville, 15 min. to Coombs, 30 min. to Nanaimo, 2 hr to either Victoria or Tofino. So you can easily explore the island from here.
I like to coo...

We would love to give our children (5 year old girl and an 8 year old boy) an experience of having new cultures in our home. We are looking for, preferably, a female, to au pair for our two great children for July and August, but this could be extended further or started earlier if needed and a great match is found. We are close to all amenities, parks, beaches and the University of Victoria. A driver's licence would be an asset. We welcome a visitor that is interested in spending the summer with us in lovely Victoria, BC Canada!

Hi! We are located 15 minutes from downtown Victoria, by car or bus, on about an acre of property where we keep chickens, honey bees and a small garden. I stay home with our 17 month old while my husband works and we are looking for a non-smoking helper or helpers to help mainly with general household chores - cooking, cleaning, and help with the baby as well as outdoor chores such as gardening, yard maintenance, help with the chickens, and other various small projects. We will provide food and accommodation in exchange for a few hours of help per day. Our main focus is to make our home feel and function as a community.
We are a 2 minute walk from a major bus route into town and are happy to help with transportation ourselves as well. Our accommodation includes your own bathroom and bedroom with a balcony and partial ocean view! Couples and children welcome. Thanks for your interest!
*Currently looking for helpers for July*

Located in beautiful Glenora, rural yet close to Duncan city centre, this farm has a variety of projects on the go, though all on a small scale. There are lots of fruit trees, raspberries, a veggie garden, as well as a fledgling seed growing and production business. Accomodation is a small but comfortable and clean camper trailer with access to the house washroom. Work exchange would be 5 hours, 5 days a week, with all food provided, though you will need to prepare your own meals. Good quality, organic food is all you will get here! We are close to beautiful hiking and cycling trails, the Cowichan River, as well as being in the vicinity of several vinyards, one right next door. The house is an old farmhouse, which also needs some work, but the views from the windows are lovely! The projects on my farm are managed by myself, and by Robin, who lives in a cottage on the property. We are both experienced organic gardeners, with some permaculture knowledge, and are Organic Master Gar...

Our place lies at the foot of Mt.Arrowsmith, 10km north of Qualicum Beach. The 5.5 acres is home to, at the moment, 30 Alpacas, two llamas, 2 miniature donkeys - Anneke and Serafina, our Maremma dogs - Khema and Samo, Roger the Rooster with 24 chickens and Kocour and Beeps the cats. It is our endeavor to be self sufficient and therefore we are developing an orchard, organic gardens and we are also beautifying the landscape with ornamental trees. We have a shop which sells alpaca fiber as well as fashion wear. There will be time to learn many skills together. The work is varied and depends on the weather. Help is required approximately 5-6 hrs daily for 5-6 days a week (30 hrs per week) or according to your plans and needs. Stay of minimum one month is preferable. Accommodation is in the house and meals are provided, eating with the family - our palate is variable, non-vegetarian. Smoking outdoor only, no indoor pets except occasional visits by Kocour and Beeps the cats. We are ...

We are a fairly active retired couple who live on 5 acres in a rural area on Vancouver Island. There is a bus service and a Neighbourhood Pub within walking distance (1/2 km.). Recreational activities in the area include scuba diving, kayaking, swimming, biking, hiking, etc.. Pets in our home include a very friendly dog and a calico cat. We also have a few elderly chickens and a rooster. We try to be environmentally aware and careful-we do not use pesticides in the garden, we recycle, etc..We eat our main meal around 6 o'clock in the evening. Food wise, we try to follow a balanced diet which includes fresh vegetables and meat, poultry, or seafood.
As time passes we find we need some help in maintaining our home and property. In exchange for room and board we would like some indoor/outdoor help for four hours a day, five days a week. We would like help with gardening, mending fences, painting, etc..Your living quarters would be in what used to be part of our bed and breakfast...
