Our farm is 40 acres in the Cowichan Valley, just north of Duncan on Vancouver Island. We are a husband and wife team. Our children have grown and left home for their own adventures. We would love a few extra hands for the summer. We have 4.5 acres of blueberries, lots of apples, plums, and a large vegetable garden. We cut all our own hay for our herd of 8-10 angus/dexter cows and 8 horses we board. We have a farm store where we sell our produce. We would like someone to help us with daily activities, like picking fruit (not the blueberries) But help sorting Blueberries ,mowing grass (ride on mower) or weed and harvest the garden, or other little jobs like painting. The jobs change with the season We would expect about 5 hours daily( 5 days a week) ,but totally open to arrangements when you want days off. We have a very nice 26 foot trailer to stay in. Its fully self contained including wifi. photo is attached, and also we include a scooter for you to drive around if you have a dri... more inside

Update June 20 2018

Hello
Thanks for all the responses to my Helpx profile. I really do enjoy meeting people from all around the world and it is great to get some help around my property.

Currently I am looking for 1 or 2 person for June and July to help take care of my big yard cleaning up weeding cutting grass. If you have handyman skills I always have projects that need to be completed fixing my fence and rebuilding a small retaining wall. I am looking for helpers that know how to do basic gardening and landscaping work without having to be shown how to do it. I also have some handyman jobs that would require being able to use power tools and some basic woodworking skills or being able to install a light fixture. If you are a couple and only one of you have the kind of skills I have mentioned that is Ok I do have other work such as weeding and cleaning so it could work.

This magical, permaculture farm with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean Vancouver Island†is incredibly inspirational.†We enjoy our vegetable and herb gardens, goats, chickens, honey bees, livestock guardian dogs and many other wild creatures that visit us daily.†This history here is rich: this was the location of the Saanich Peninsula's first schoolhouse and more recently is where NoŽl Richardson wrote her 4 famous cookbooks and contributed to CityFood Magazine for years while peering out over the spectacular gardens. Her husband, Andrew Yeomen, was also an author and amazing gardener. Together they created a very special place that at the time (1979 until 2014) required from them a significant leap of faith and subsequently plunged them into the world of organic farming. We (Brea, Todd and 2†children) couldn't be more honoured to be the guardians of this land.†An adventure like theirs has been something that Brea has dreamed about since childhood, and for her the reality of living ... more inside

Beautiful rural property nestled in the forest of the stunning Comox Valley located on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

Mark is self-employed and looking forward to retirement; Teg is a well-known, certified equestrian coach currently employed at the Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society.

In our free time, we enjoy riding the miles of woodland trails that surround our property, as well as taking our horses to the many beautiful beaches in the region, along with our three dogs.

We love to have friends over to enjoy a bbq, after which we like to sit around the firepit or hop in the hot tub.

We need help caring for the horses and property; as well as painting, landscaping, weeding, and other general household maintenance.

Preference will be given to couples or friends travelling together as we are in a rural area.

We ask for 25 hours of help per week in exchange for private accommodation and meals.

Hi, we are looking for helpers. Please read on!

Our location:

Located in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, we are Mason Bee Keepers and non-certified organic gardeners living on an urban lot bordering a salmon bearing creek and forest. Our shade garden has native plants that attract birds and bees. Sunnier spots grow fruit trees and berries in raised beds. We garden to create soil, shade and habitat for the critters as well as nourishment for our ourselves.

What we can offer you:
We raise Mason Bees, and sell live cocoons and Bee houses each spring at the Farmers Market. Mason Bees are peaceful, docile, don't sting and are native to their local habitat. If you are interested in learning about gardening and landscaping with wild pollinators, youíll have opportunities to ask, observe, help and learn.

We are finishing our farmer's market season, and there is much to do around the garden and house. Spring tasks include: firewood, help with garden projects (maintaini... more inside

June - opening for one general all round helper

Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River is a beautiful place to experience Spring and Vancouver Island's great outdoors!!! Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, douglas firs, maples and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the riverís pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighborhood is the access point to many scenic nature walking and biking trails. The 1st three photos are at our home and the others are nearby nearby trails and local vistas.

If you have a specific trade or ski... more inside
