We have a five year old vineyard on our shared family property. We are looking for help in the vineyard , and spring clean-up . We have built a new Winery and there will be some work finishing it. We have chickens, ducks and dogs on the property .

We are looking for a positive , hard- working individual or couple to work 4 -5 hours a day , 5 days per week but this is flexible. It is often hot and sunny so we like to start early in the morning, leaving the late afternoon and evening for recreation. We are an easy- going 58 year old couple and their 30 year old daughter who like to hike and bike in our spare time with family and friends.

We live on the Eastside of Skaha lake. Activities close by include swimming, boating, hiking, rock- climbing, tennis, and mountain biking. We have bikes and kayaks that you can use. You will have a private bedroom and bathroom with a separate entrance in our house. We would like to share cooking and meals and we will provide the food.

Greetings!
We live in the beautiful Similkameen Valley in Southern British Columbia. Our 1/2 acre property is surrounded by orchards, wineries and organic farms. We run an Airbnb from our wonderful 1913 farmhouse. Our small town has a grocery store, pharmacy, post office, library and a museum. There are a number of restaurants, particularly good Thai and Indian Food. It is a 4 hour drive to Vancouver and a little less than 2 hours to Kelowna.

There are 3 of us living on the property full time. Norma, an artist, seamstress and B&B operator, Stephen, world traveler, electrician and general contractor, and Lady, our wonderful border collie/labrador. This summer we have had helpers from Mexico City and Cologne, Germany. We have also hosted over 100 Airbnb guests. Our guests come from all over the world and speak many languages. There is a lot of opportunity to learn about their way of life.

Stephen was a wwooffer for 4 yrs and his main disappointment with most places was the lack... more inside

We are 'Helpless' after months of great volunteers. Looking for up to 3 helpers.

Ian and I are two retired Biologists enjoying life on a new (to us) farm where we can grow larger flocks of our heritage chickens in the most healthy way. The raising of breeder flocks, collecting and washing eggs, and growing forage for our birds are ongoing tasks. We are also refurbishing old barns and building coops, etc. The veggie garden needs to be planted and we need help with pruning, and spring clean up. There is also a family cow you can learn to milk and a cute calf that needs regular handling.

Ian and I have a tremendous amount of knowledge about (and experience in) Canadian ecosystems, especially in British Columbia. If you are interested in Ecology, Animal Husbandry, Genetics or the trills and spills of running a small farm, you can learn a lot here!

We are located in Armstrong, a real farming town about 20 minutes from Vernon. This is a great area for hiking and bird watching in... more inside

We are looking for help now through mid July and again in the fall, however, please inquire as we will consider stays outside that period.

We enjoy meeting and working with helpers from different countries and we try to make your stay work for both of us. Although we are not vegetarians or other specialty diets we have no problem hosting one. One family member is gluten free.

Seasonally we need assistance with with fencing, firewood cutting, the garden, harrowing, feeding livestock, building and building maintenance and general farm labour. No experience necessary but must have a willing attitude and be comfortable around animals. Someone with Carpentry skills is always helpful. This year carpentry projects include rebuilding the well house and a new sheep lambing jug and sawdust storage.

We are located on a small farm 4 km north of Lumby and 30 minutes east of Vernon BC, with sheep, laying chickens, hay and sometimes meat birds. We also have some older horses and a larg... more inside

The Compound is a philosophical experiment. It's an experiment in communal living, in food production, open-mindedness, alternative modes of being, bartering, agile development and lumberjack architecture. What we're trying to create here is a sort of communal playground where locals and visitors alike will have the opportunity to do whatever they feel like doing, to learn and teach, to express their creativity, and to have fun. We hope that many people will stay here over the coming years and that each will have an opportunity to create something lasting; from art installations to plant and animal life, from timber-frame building restorations to music and friendships, to climbing walls, mountain bike trails, and snowboard jumps. This place is something of a blank canvas, and we hope to create the right conditions that will inspire people to form and then fulfill their own vision.

What separates The Compound from most other HelpX listings is that this is not a commercial enter... more inside

Welcome/Bonjour,
My husband and I operate a small horse-ranch in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. We breed Canadian Horses, a rare breed and National horse of Canada. Part of the land is dedicated to cultivation , mainly hay and grain . We live in a very private ,quiet area, offering hiking and swimming near by. Enderby is 25 minutes from the city of Vernon. If you love walking in trails, reading book while watching horses eat and lots of quiet time, you will love our place.

In the Spring time, we are constantly renovating, fixing or building new sheds. We are looking for help for those projects , priority to people who have experience in carpentry, or people enjoying renovation projects outside.Come may and july we need some help with haying and riding horses. The work can be physically demanding specially when we do hay but it only last a few days!!. We all participate together and only stop when the hay is all stored in the barn.

We speak English and French , no smoking ... more inside
