This is an opportunity to sail the Hawaiian islands as preparation for a longer trip in the South Pacific and beyond.

If you only have a short time available to volunteer, even just a few days, there is always the opportunity to help with boat projects in exchange for accommodation and sailing lessons(food is not provided). This is very popular. There would be no ocean sailing but even just life at anchor in Hawaii for a short time can be an experience. No specialized skills are necessary to assist with boat projects. An extra set of hands is help enough. Projects are usually short and simple, about an hour or two of work maximum per day.

The trip to the South Pacific is clearly a longer time commitment and time should be spent learning the boat within the Hawaiian islands first before the longer voyage. Sailing within Hawaii is a great way to find out if ocean sailing is something you would like to do. The focus will be on visiting the more remote locations that a... more inside

I'd really like some willing farmhands to help me. This beautiful farm is on the outskirts of wood valley on the big island. It is completely off the grid here. It's very peaceful here and picturesque.
Some of the tasks include: tending the organic garden; planting weeding fertilizing., planting coffee, and many other plants. Some construction, ( that would be a plus) and in general helping with daily chores. mainly, I need help clearing and enlarging and replanting the garden. Some of the big plans for this year are to maintain the usually producing organic garden, weed, mulch and fertilize the half acre of coffee, build the walls out of bamboo to the outdoor hot water shower, and create a stone landing for the house,.
A plus... is that my next property neighbor is offering paid coffee picking at this time. (It is seasonal) and that is now. So when you finish the 4 hours here....you can, if interested, take a break and then go to the neighbors place and pi... more inside
