A home on a river and a beach that needs willing hands to help renovate, paint, garden, landscape etc. Light housekeeping too. An incredible setting with a surf break. Room with dinner. 3 to 4 hours a day. Town is 5 mins away. This is perhaps the most beautiful setting. I am honored to live here. The property is shared with two other people and three nice dogs. We are friendly as are the dogs! This is an opportunity for someone who likes the water. Both river and ocean. We have kayaks and surfboards you can use. Internet available. I will be needing a house painter soon. Will give first dibs to painters!

Organic Status: Transitional, almost organic
Aloha, I am an organic, permaculture farmer on the Hamakua Coast of the Big Island and my neighbor and friend that does not do computers asked me to place this listing. He is past retirement age and needs help weeding Laulau leaf Taro, enlarging the vegetable garden and put in spices and herbs for eating and tinctures. He also raises Talopia. There is a small structure to stay in near the ocean cliff, among the ironwoods, where you can see and hear the waves and in the winter, the Whales. We have recovery people around sometimes so like clean and sober people thats tobacco free. (Not a 420 place) My neighbor is a local Portuguese that has lived in the area all his life. He has been involved in agriculture all his life and we will both be teaching about farming. So we are looking forward to people sincerely interested in gardening over the age of 25. Please E-mail your description and phone number and we will call you back. Mahalo

Organic Status: claimed organic (former sugar cane land laid fallow 60 years)
We have 20 acres of former cane land left fallow for over 50 years. We are building Bio-intensive raised bed gardens, orchards and permaculture plantings. We are doing alternative building with local materials such as standing dead ohia, guava (invasive) and basalt (lava rock). We plan to add ponds for aquaponics = aquaculture + hydroponics. Creative craftwork is encouraged. Produce from farm and staple foods are available to share. Plenty of guava wood is available for cooking.

Organic Status: not certified but practicing
Aloha. We are a new farm breaking ground and building orchards and gardens. Our farm is proudly independent of the electricity company, and are striving for self sufficiency in many other ways. We produce 100% of the cheese, eggs and milk we consume, and want to get that way with vegetables and starches soon too. We're looking for help building a food garden production system. Lately, we have been experimenting with making IMO fertilizer, and finding more efficient ways to use our livestock waste. We are hoping you can come and learn how with us.
We are currently building livestock loafing sheds and chicken tractors, preparing for more fencing, and establishing garden beds. We maintain sheep, goats, ducks, chickens and rabbits. The help we need is from independent people with easy going hard work attitude. Animal feeding and maintenance, garden weeding and maintenance, planting fruit trees and vegetables, are some of the tasks we need some help with.
We will provide ...

Organic Status: affadavit and permaculture
Learn Sustainable Living, Permaculture and Organic farming by LIVING it!
FARM WORKER &/or NANNY, pref female solo or a couple, no families,
- 2 month stay preferred
OPENING on-going.
The beauty of Kauai will knock your socks off...literally!- time for open-toe shoes! Situated on the unbelievable lush northshore of Kauai, the Garden Isle, in an area with several organic farms. This is a small island, quiet life, no t.v. remote. I just got back from Honolulu and the crowded-ness blew my mind. This is a big change of pace, slower & simpler, island-style. Wake up to the birds and waves (if they are big and the trade winds carry sound this way).
Our last 2 helpers chose to travel a short while after starting, and left us stranded and overwhelmed. Please only apply if you are ready to dedicate some time to Kauai & our farm and family needs. We need A nanny. Especially someone who loves kids and is into teaching and learning from them.
We need nanny help...

We are located on the edge of Hilo, Big Island. We are nature, plant, and animal lovers and we live in the midst of lush tropical trees and flowers, parrots, other birds, and cats. We are lacto-vegetarian with occasional seafood, non-smokers and drug free, and we are expecting the same from our helpers. We are gradually starting to plant about 6 acres (3 ha) of coffee as well as doing a variety of finishing improvements and remodelling on the house and its surroundings yard. We would love to have help on builing/remodelling, yard work, and house cleaning.
