Hey skier and snowboarder couples. We're looking for some early April help Spring cleaning and clipping for a week or two. Come give us a hand and we'll take you up to mountain with us on your days off. We normally have great Spring riding in April with one of the deepest snow packs in the world.

The spare room will be ready for you. The hot tub will be hot and the boats will be in and we start skiing and sailing in May. Learn to wake board or water ski. On rainy days you can help Catrina with indoor chores. Outdoors we need help with landscaping and the yard, beach and boat upkeep and pressure washing and lots of painting. We are professional cooks and eat well. We'll provide you a room in our house and meals and rides for you helping out with 5 hours of work 5 days a week. We are in a beautiful part of the world with great access to Mt. Baker, hiking and water sports (we have a ski boat and sailboat and hot tub). We are 1 hour South of Vancouver, B.C., 1 1/2 hour... more inside

We are an off the grid homestead. We produce much of our own food, with organic, biodynamic garden, dairy goats and chickens. We have two dogs and a cat. We are located in a redwood forest, 7 miles inland from the coast on a ridgetop. Karl works from home with some travel as a meeting consultant and Melinda is an acupuncturist with a clinic located about 20 minutes away at Sea Ranch.
Our interests are Taoist meditation and Tai Chi practices, cooking everything fresh ideally from our garden, goats, chickens and other local sources, nature, our animals. Basically, our way of life is how we spend our time.

In addition to short helpx stays, we are now also looking for individuals or couples who have farming or carpentry experience for stays of 6 months or longer. In this case there would be some wages in combination with a place to live in exchange for work. The terms of this agreement would be negotiable depending upon skills of the individuals.
For short term stays, we need help... more inside

"Resident volunteers" from HelpX and Wwoof have been a Godsend to our non-profit working ranch serving children and animals on our 15 acre ranch. When we lost our site development funding the day after 9-11, we thought the ranch would go under. But the children who had been coming to the ranch during after school programs and summer camps refused to let that happen. They gave up their fun time on the ranch riding horses and driving go-carts to work every minute they could to keep the ranch going. They hand dug fence posts, built shelters for the animals and did whatever was needed.

In as much as they loved the ranch, they missed their fun times on the ranch until we got our first "resident volunteer" from Wwoof and more followed who also came from HelpX.

Once we signed up with HelpX and Wwoof, the ranch has continually progressed forward thanks to some wonderful help from around the world.

The kids are so very grateful for all who have come and who have left them with wo... more inside

We are a semi-retired couple with a 6-acre vineyard in Napa, Caslifornia. We have enjoyed having Helpx'ers come to the vineyard to help with a variety of tasks. Currently (January-February) John is pruning and we need folks to support this task: clearing the wire of tendrils, using hand pruners; checking emitters on drip system; picking up bundles of prunings and putting in a pile for burning; picking up green tape from ground. Other tasks may include helping with veggie beds, setting gopher traps and WEEDING! There is a travel trailer on the premises to accomodate a couple or two singles; bathroom is shared in the barn. We are located fairly close to the town of Napa but there is no public transportation nearby. We can provide transportation to the local bus system. In exchange for room and board, we request 4 full days of work (approx 32 hours) with 3 full days off per week. We are not vegetarians but don't always eat meat, sometimes organic, non-smokers, and don't use ill... more inside

We are currently scheduling worktraders for tent camping in 2015. We try to have 6-11 worktraders/community members during the growing season. We have 62 acres of farmland, forest, pond/creeks, highlands, valley and lowlands. Veggie/aromatic gardens farmed naturally/via various methods of permaculture. Berries & nuts(strawberry, blackberry, hawthorn, elderberry, hazelnut) and trees: pear, apple, chums, plums, cherries and so forth. (We are not an orchard, but we do have a myriad of fruiting trees.) We have a fibonacci sequence solar shower done, with compost toilet and outdoor kitchen to be built soon, a few gathering spots, a sweat lodge, and indoor bathroom/kitchen/laundry), a tipi shade structure and more. We have a dozen chickens, 4 goats, a couple cats, anywhere from a couple dogs to more, depending on what sorts of friends our community member/worktraders bring and the wildlife in the area.

One awesome thing about this farm is that it's n... more inside

I good friend of mine told me after I graduated from high school.."Joy, go out into the world and see what you can see. Then bring it back here. It's the only way we will ever grow and survive."

I moved back to scott valley,(not scotts valley), where I was born 2 years ago after living in Thailand, Alaska, New Mexico, Washington, Vermont, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Guatemala and many places in between.
My home was built in 1902 and was empty for a few years before I bought it. It has a lot of character and needs a lot of help. I've pulled most of the carpet out, but the floors needs finishing. I would love large colorful murals, the ceiling is about 8 feet high, and some tile work done on the stairs.
The original root cellar is still here, but the roof needs to be fixed as it has become over grown.
I would love to put in permaculture gardens all around the property, get the barn/shop cleaned and working again (a friend has offered to give me four Icelandic sheep this spring a... more inside

I am an artist living off the grid with my dog Lily and 3 cats. We have just installed a state of the art solar system, so now I can move forward hosting guests. I love nature, and the peacefulness of living in the forest.

Right now I'm looking for help, preferably a couple, starting after 4.15.2015. Things may change and open up to an earlier time, but for now this is where we're at. I will be posting any updates in my profile, so please check back. If you don't hear from me right away, please know that you will get a response.

The weather is mild in our area, so it is easy to work all winter.

Tasks include completing a stream bank restoration project, forestry, gardening/landscaping, and some minor construction work.

BEFORE YOU REPLY PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE PROFILE CAREFULLY.

LOCATION
We're located in Southern Oregon near the California border, 5 miles from the town of Williams, near Grayback Mountain We're off-the-grid, so we generate our own power with a sta... more inside

This is a nice sailboat of 42 feet and as an every boat and a house needs some work on it every year. Varnishing and cleaning, painting and sanding. I love to cook and my husband Dave loves to share his experience of sailing. We both would like to provide the best hospitality for the nice people. I'm from Europe and Dave was born in Tacoma. For the last couple years he has been sailing up to Alaska with the crew of 5-7 people (mostly young students). He has very nice videos of these trips on Vimeo.
P.S.If you able to see this add,it means you are able to see a phone number, too,I guess. So,please feel free to give us a call though we dont have enough time to write back sometimes, sorry.
Dear friends,we are very thankfull for everybody who had contacted us,but for this year we have finished our season of sailing, hope to hear from you next year.
