At our farm here in the Coachella Valley we grow 5 varieties of dates; Medjool, Barhi, Khadrawi, Halawi & Zahidi....and we also have young plantings of mango's, sapodilla, guavas, temple orange, Peruvian apple cactus and sweet lime.

Tasks include: irrigation, pruning, picking, fertilizing, pollination, clean-up, trenching, house cleaning, road repair. Tile setters & concrete workers are appreciated here, and so are nomadic carpenters or anyone with experience using ropes and equipment for rock climbing since I need to adapt this skill on my tall palm trees. We clean our We clean our soaking pools regularly. Date harvest begins around July 1st and goes till September 15th, so we hope to connect with long term volunteers during that period.
My hot springs is located in a very remote setting in the Coachella Valley of the southern California desert about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Los Angeles, or 50 miles southeast of Palm Springs, just off highway 111, in the morning shadow of t... more inside

Come explore 5 acres with beach access on Lopez Island next to Shark Reef Sanctuary (a park where Sea Lions frolic with many small beach coves and amazing views). I am coming from Hawaii and getting to work on this mostly raw land. I envision putting in gardens (organic / permaculture) and improving places for myself and guests/helpers etc. to stay while leaving most of the land in it's natural state.

Any kind of helpers welcome. Lumberjacks, cobb / earth / pole / stick treehouse builders wanted.

This is a beautiful area, however we will be roughing it (outhouse/off-grid for now), staying in a 'tour bus' or a tent until more stylie digs are created...think witnessing the birth of this place - here's your chance to help it grow!

Since I am new here, I can refer you to my couchsurfing profile (several all positive references). - https://www.couchsurfing.org/people/redwood/

We require that helpers have a working cell phone for this area. We need to be able to communicate with you. Please do not arrive without at least the ability to text in our area!

We have a MANDATORY TWO WEEK MINIMUM (unless other arrangements are made) to lessen the potential for misunderstanding and stress as well as to increase everyone's potentially positive experience.

We REQUIRE that all Helpers have experience with animals because we do have 2 dogs and 2 cats that are part of our family. Thus, part of your family duties is to help take care of the pets! We are flexible as to your schedule within reason and given notification.

For convenience, we show in our listing projects first to make this easier for helpers. :) Please Read through what skill sets were are seeking to see if this is a good match for you!

Skills we are currently looking for include, but not limited to: Plumbing help - we need to replace the filters for the reverse osmosis system, Woodworkin... more inside

After 9 years in beautiful Haines, Alaska I have relocated to a raw mountain ranch at 4750 ft elevation, located in Crescent Lake Oregon.
I am needing ongoing help with fencing and some building, animal care, clearing, wood cutting, path building, etc. House is small, but nice. Barn is located away from the house, with a loft.
I have alpacas, llamas goats, dogs, cats and of course, chickens.
For accommodation: there is a spare room, small but it has a bunk bed and a desk and I am able to supply a roll-away bed if needed. There is also a barn with a nice loft, for sleeping in semi-camping style. There is plenty of room to camp, as well, in a wonderful forest setting that is just east of Willamette Pass.
We are surrounded by lakes and the area is loaded with hiking trails, very close to the PCW access and Willamette Pass Ski area (which has downhill and cross country skiing available).
I provide meals, beds and will do my best to facilitate your adventures here. I cook with ... more inside

Founded in 1927, this is a retreat center on Orcas Island in Washington State. Its 78 acres of forest, meadows and trails is situated along ĺ of a mile of shoreline. The camp offers a wide variety of programs for people of all ages. In addition, there is also daily meditation, trail walks, a labyrinth, a small bookshop and a well-stocked metaphysical library.

On the site there are 28 buildings, a commercial kitchen, an organic vegetable garden and an heirloom orchard. We are seeking volunteers for our all the different departments: housekeeping, kitchen, garden, light maintenance. You may be asked to work in a variety of areas. Hi I'm Tracy. I live in a rural area of Southern California about an hour North of San Diego. My husband, Jim, and I have a small family farm we have been developing. Our children are mostly grown up and gone, but we love when they come by for dinner or to hang out.

We have a nice big house (one level) with a swimming pool in the back. Outside of our regular backyard is the farm area where we have chickens, turkeys, ducks, and a pig. In another area we have a large garden. Half of the property is not developed yet. Some of the projects on our list are a chicken garden, a cob building, painting and raised gardening beds. Besides farm work, we can always use technology help with our businesses and we really value cooking and cleaning skills.

Location-wise, we are an hour from Los Angeles, an hour from San Diego, an hour from Palm Springs and an hour from the beach or mountains. It would be great if you have a car while you're here, but there is public transportation nearby. (T... more inside

Located west of Mt. Rainier National Park, this is an FSC certified forest/wetland and includes a straw bale home and permaculture garden. We are in the process of creating bed and breakfast facilities, camping areas and a trail system. I would be willing to have someone who would be able to help with outside projects such as trail work or forest remediation work. Also help with cleaning and laundry. In spring and summer we have lots of yard work and gardening. Over the winter, I'll be doing a bit of painting and refining inside.

I would expect helpers to work 3-4 hours/day for 5 days/week. I will provide meals and work with you if I can, but your ability to work without me is appreciated.

Most helpers have been staying in a tent/cabin that has two twin beds with bed warmers. The cabin is unheated and has a composting toilet. We also have a small bedroom with a double bed in the house.

This property is a bit remote with no public transport near, so you will need a veh... more inside
