Small farm (MOSTLY ORGANIC PRACTICES but not seeking certification) with goats and alpacas. 8 of the 14 animals living here are adopted/rescued. The rest were born here. Acreage still needs improving after 15 years of steady work. Rural area in the Pacific Northwest about 20 mins drive to Gig Harbor. Culturally diverse community with artists, musicians and writers. Host couple are a Scottish immigrant woman with an American husband. Looking for 1 or a couple at a time who can join in with the daily round of an active couple in their early 60s. You wouldn't be asked to do anything we don't do/haven't done ourselves. Tasks we do include: mucking, foot trimming, noxious plant pulling, ditching and drainage, splitting and stacking firewood, clearing deadfall and general "tidying up". You can learn about land management, animal care and fiber arts. We generally are out and about 4 to 5 hours per day 5 days per week or some combination that adds up to same. We would be so happy to have you join this eclectic group of weirdos in volunteering for the #1 hostel in the USA (literally)!

Only 1 block from the beach and centrally located to all that San Diego has to offer, we are nestled in the laid back surf neighborhood of Ocean Beach, known by locals as OB. If you are fun, outgoing and love the sunshine, then you may be the right volunteer for us! Currently we are seeking help for housekeeping and activities. While volunteering with us you get a free bed in our staff dorm, free breakfast, wifi, and laundry... and a family away from home. We are specifically looking for international travelers looking to come explore our city. Our apologies, but we do not prefer couples or groups of friends. Applicant must be at least 21 years of age.

Hello Helpers!

My name is Claudia (62) and I live in a lovely 3 bedroom home in a neighborhood within the city limits of Anacortes, WA which is located half way (1.5 hrs) between Seattle, WA and Vancouver, B.C.

Anacortes is on Fidalgo Island. It is surrounded by the north Puget Sound and San Juan Islands on three sides, and by the Swinomish Channel and the flats of Skagit Valley to the east. The weather is milder than other areas of the Pacific Northwest, because it lies within the Olympic Mountain rain shadow.

My house is near forest lands, trails, and lakes in the middle of Fidalgo Island. My 1/3 acre yard has large fir and cedar trees so I enjoy a lot of quiet privacy here. My backyard has been certified as a wildlife sanctuary by the state of Washington. You will see many critters visiting daily.

I am looking for a person who will do home sorting and organization, scrubbing down kitchen cabinets, wash floors, garage organization, windows, and some winter yard work... more inside

A family in southern California has an extra room. Anybody with automotive repair experience? Ornamental Iron work (fencing) experience? Landscaping including masonry? Plumbing? Our older daughter has grown up and moved out so we don't need any music help we posted about before, unless you can teach voice on a professional level in Paris. But we could maybe use some help with Architecture software like Revit or Rhino, four our college age daughter. We can trade housing for your help. Maybe English lessons. Fun family. Please let me know anything that you are able to do. We can also help you. Let me know what your interests are.

I have a small arc welder, I need some wrought iron welded up. We could also use some painting. The cars are 2 1970's Mercedes, but the newer cars might need some work as well.

We can teach Spanish language & Mexican cooking.

**we are booked up until spring, if you find the Pacific Northwest is calling to you again in a few months do reach out.**

We are a family of 3 living in 3 bedroom house just outside Portland, Oregon and really enjoy the exchange of culture when meeting new travelers or friends.

Have started a bit of an urban homestead on our quarter-acre lot - 12 raised bed vegetable gardens, blueberry/raspberries, pear and fig trees etc. Through a local bee-share we recently added a hive to our property last spring. We have taken on a new challenge of doing some refreshing both outside and inside the house that we would love your help with. Outside is in full swing right now as we are adding fruit trees and reintroducing native plants back into the yard. Getting fall crops harvested and beds ready for winter.

Someone with general handy skills would be able to help around the house. Or maybe you like to craft in the kitchen instead? Be challenged to games by a precocious munchkin? If you a... more inside

We are a Spiritual retreat center located close to the beautiful town of Julian in Southern California. We are located about an hour drive away from San Diego, and we are a few miles away from Julian.

We are in the midst of gorgeous rural native trees and nature away from urban life here. We are not affiliated with any particular spiritual ideology or philosophy with a central authority, but we are rather a community of truth seekers learning and growing in the mirror of relationship and intelligent questioning of everything; and love, we believe, is the only light in this spiritual journey.

We have only very Yummy, healthy and organic Vegan and Vegetarian food here shared with all community members, and our community is Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco free. We would love to welcome new members who would like to have some peaceful time and help us in the ways that fit them best. There are no corporate type of strict living/working here, but rather a friendly and family like envir... more inside

NOW up to February 9 I need someone to help me move some things around, organize and if I am really lucky, someone who loves to sell online. You must be ok with getting DIRTY, LIFTING heavy things and maybe a bit of handyman work (reattaching baseboard and whatnot). I rent out a couple of rooms on AirBNB and I'm in the middle of cleaning out and reorganizing my storage room plus other projects. Good organizing skills essential. I am especially interested in people with construction and handyman experience. Technical knowledge is also appreciated. I DO NOT need full time help. I must be out of the house by February 9 so I'm in a time crunch.

In exchange for approximately 3-4 hours of work per day you would get a free night and breakfast/lunch in my cool, Victorian house, including wifi. If you are interested in additional work let me know. If you end up staying for more than 5 nights, you can take time off off to explore or you could double up on a workday, I'm fairly f... more inside
