We are looking for help with our small, private campground and starting a 1-3 acre permaculture farm.

Come visit our 16 acre camp and farmstead in the Santa Cruz mountains, about an hour from San Francisco, Santa Cruz and San Jose. It's the rich, bottom slope of the only named little mountain around here, mostly covered with towering Redwoods, Douglas Fir, Bay Laurel and gorgeous Oaks, with some cleared sites in between. We are named after a perennial creek which feeds the larger Pescadero Creek (even after several years of historic drought), once home to Salmon and still home to Steelhead Trout.

Our home base is modest and rustic, and we use off-the-grid electricity, high speed Internet, hot outdoor showers, self-m... more inside

House & Projects:
When we bought our house 4 years ago, it needed a LOT of work: painting, carpentry, landscaping, etc. We've made many improvements, but there are still many more projects to do.

We are a multi-generational family of 5 ranging in age from 36 to 78. Plus, we have 17 chickens and 2 border collies.

In the last 3 years, we have had great experiences with many HelpXers from many places working on many projects! Each experience has been unique and wonderful!

Most of the HelpXers have slept on our 2 comfy couches, but sometimes there will also be private rooms available, depending on our permanent housemate arrangements.

There is always something to do here and I always appreciate having someone to help. When the weather isn't good to be outdoors, my interior projects are painting, installing trim work, refinishing wood flooring, installing new flooring, replacing insulation and general cleaning. My plans for the summer months always include painting! We will... more inside

**Spring has sprung and we are getting our hands dirty in the gardens! We have a couple of openings in the next few months in the Pacific Northwest is calling you.**

We are a family of 3 living in 3 bedroom house just outside Portland, Oregon and really enjoy the exchange of culture when meeting new travelers or friends.

Have started a bit of an urban homestead on our quarter-acre lot - 12 raised bed vegetable gardens, blueberry/raspberries, fig trees etc. Through a local “bee-share” we recently added a hive to our property last spring. We have taken on a new challenge of doing some “refreshing” both outside and inside the house that we would love your help with.

Someone with general handyman skills will be able to help with the house - general carpentry and finish woodworking, interior and exterior paint prep work and application or maybe you like to craft in the kitchen. If you are more of an outside person or have green thumb - help with gardening, brush clearing or land... more inside

Mountainside farm close to Yosemite National Park with 100 mile views. It's complete solitude here that hundreds of millions of people have seen.
I have Queensland Heeler dogs, raise chickens for eggs, grow fruit trees, veggies, herbs, spices and medicinal plants. I take volunteers year round.
I have lived in the Yosemite area since 1985, I married into the Yosemite Indian Tribe and have Yosemite Indian children. Yosemite is a big part of my life and my farm. We have a living culture that is year round and I regularly take my volunteers to the ceremonies.

PLEASE! Click on all 3 website links and read my Couchsurfing profile and binding references.

To see my list of YouTube video references from some of my farm and volunteers click on my 1st YouTube link.
The 2nd YouTube link is my whole channel.
My farm is mostly a show case for my YouTube videos and growing the food for the people to eat on my farm. I grow food to eat and video, not sell, what I export is my videos ab... more inside

Come explore 5 acres with beach access on Lopez Island next to Shark Reef Sanctuary (a park where Sea Lions frolic with many small beach coves and amazing views). I am coming from Hawaii and getting to work on this mostly raw land. I envision putting in gardens (organic / permaculture) and improving places for myself and guests/helpers etc. to stay while leaving most of the land in it's natural state.

Any kind of helpers welcome. Lumberjacks, cobb / earth / pole / stick treehouse builders wanted.

This is a beautiful area, however we will be roughing it (outhouse/off-grid for now), staying in a 'tour bus' or a tent until more stylie digs are created...think witnessing the birth of this place - here's your chance to help it grow!

Since I am new here, I can refer you to my couchsurfing profile (several all positive references). - https://www.couchsurfing.org/people/redwood/

DESCRIPTION OF ORGANIZATION AND FACILITIES:

Maplewood is a small farmsted on 20 acres of agricultural and forested land. The land is bio-diverse and offers a little bit of everything from creek frontage, deep forest, south facing hillside, and pasture. Currently we have a newly planted fruit and nut orchard, a 2,000 square foot garden area, chickens, three cats, and two happy hounds. The natural beauty of the landscape offers an inspiring and rich ecological context for whatever project is at hand, as well as providing a place to relax and reflect deeply on the wonders of our inner and outer world.

Situated adjacent to the small rural town of Powers Oregon (pop 650); Powers has one gas station, a small market, a library, a post office, a cafe, and tavern, and a small thrift store. Local river and country recreation activities such as fishing, kayaking, and swimming are wonderful. The closest larger town is a 40 minute drive.

We encourage guests to bring their experience, i... more inside
