We are located on Whidbey Island, just north of Seattle. The island is host to many tourist events in the summer and provides outdoor adventure all year long. The cottage I live in overlooks Saratoga passage, a place known to be a favorite of the orca and grey whales. There is beach access close by and a lovely deck to enjoy. Whidbey is accessible by a short ferry ride to the south end of the island (about 30 minutes from Seattle) or a bridge on the north part of the island. A fare-free bus system is a great way to get around between the small towns.

I can offer a loft room with a private bathroom as well as meals. There are also bikes you are welcome to borrow. If I am going into Seattle, you can enjoy the city sights while I am at work. I would also love to show you the old growth forest on the island.

I am looking for someone to help with gardening and yard work for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. Tasks include: mowing, gardening, weeding, planting, hedge trimming, wood ch... more inside

We have a 3-season education course on sustainable beekeeping, and we raise chickens for organic eggs year round. We are in a unique environment, so we teach others how to raise food sustainably in the high desert region of Central Oregon. We’re prepping and planting the summer garden and getting busier outside as the weather is warming up. We’re looking for a few more skilled hands to join us. We have various indoor and outdoor projects happening through the late spring and lots of stuff through the summer. You can take part in our thriving community life.
We’re doing more clearing, thinning and brushing in the surrounding green woods to ensure our property remains fire safe for years to come. Also we’re doing a lot of wood splitting and stacking to keep us warm through next winter.
Located in Siskiyou County, California we are north of the Klamath River. The property is 20+ acres adjacent to Klamath National Forest. The ranch is located in a rural natural environment with the closest neighboring houses about a mile away. Garden and orchard lands are approximately 2 acres.

We are a 160 acre working ranch located in the Mount Diablo Mountain range, in southeastern Monterey County (although our mail comes from Coalinga, Fresno County).

We have a horse,5 burros total from the 2 we adopted from the BLM and October 2012 they had offsprings. Also 2 Alpacas and a small herd of African Pygmy goats.

Our birds include laying chicken hens, guineas, wild turkeys (that are domesticated), geese, Indian Runner ducks and Peafowl.

Could use someone to care for our animals and birds on a daily basis. Work projects could include out building repair, fence repair or enclosure repair. In the spring we prep and plant our family garden.

We ask for stays of at least 2 weeks as it takes a few days to learn how to care for our animals and birds.

If you are a loner, like disappearing into your room or a do-it-my-way person do not apply. As we encourage camaraderie, conversation and doing things together. Our hope is you come to learn and experience the rural li... more inside
