Thank you for taking a look at our profile!

Approximately four years ago I purchased this beautiful property (28 acres/12 hectares) with the intention of creating a permaculture demonstration site. I decided it was best to build the business first so we could begin generating income. We went through an extensive conditional use permit process with the county we live in and now are considered a private park. Starting next spring we will begin working on the permaculture aspects of the property. For now we are just doing general maintenance and new small projects for the private park.

The property is located at the base of the Oregon coast range and consists of primarily forestland with pastures, creeks, a pond, springs and much more. The wildlife is abundant with beavers, otters, eagles, osprey, salmon (in the fall in our creek on the property), cougars, deer, elk and more. We have an amazing paved 21 mile bicycle trail (Banks-Vernonia Trail) that runs through the middl... more inside

**Fall is pretty full up - but we have a few short stays available**

We are a family of 3 living in 3 bedroom house just outside Portland, Oregon and really enjoy the exchange of culture when meeting new travelers or friends.

Have started a bit of an urban homestead on our quarter-acre lot - 12 raised bed vegetable gardens, blueberry/raspberries, fig trees etc. Through a local “bee-share” we recently added a hive to our property this spring. We have taken on a new challenge of doing some “refreshing” both outside and inside the house that we would love your help with.

Someone with general handyman skills will be able to help with the house - general carpentry and finish woodworking, interior and exterior paint prep work and application or maybe you like to craft in the kitchen. If you are more of an outside person or have green thumb - help with gardening, brush clearing or landscaping would be ideal. We would be happy to develop a "work plan" with you based on a combinatio... more inside

RIGHT NOW I'M LOOKING FOR SOMEBODY TO START HELPING ME IN END OF NOVEMBER/BEGINNING DECEMBER. I'M ALSO PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE SO IF IT'S AFTER SEPTEMBER PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME.
Vegan and vegetarian friendly!

Hi my name is Bruce.
I'm wondering if you would be interested in helping someone like myself. By the previous sentence I mean someone who is charming, wonderful, engaging, intelligent and shy. I broke my neck when I was 18 years old and have been in a wheelchair ever since. After breaking my neck I went back to school and received a couple of degrees. Most of my life I have been working until recently and that is because I came down with a condition called hypotension which is something that is difficult to manage but is livable. I'm looking for someone who is energetic, intelligent and ready to take on a challenge. It's important to me that whomever I choose has good sense humor and can understand sarcasm. I'm also a liberal and I am concerned about politics along... more inside

Looking for person or persons to work 4 hours a day,(each person), 5 days a week in the morning. The rest of the time is your own, and you may do as you like.
We have 5 acres, but only 1&1/4 are actually used. Duties would include general yard and garden work. Also cleaning pens and coop, feeding animals, collecting eggs, picking fruit, vegetables, and nuts in the growing seasons. Other times would be general yard, garden or pen cleanup, or help out as needed. House work would be general chores, like sweeping, dusting, dishes. There is always something to do here, no matter what skills you may have.

If you have carpentry, electrical, or plumbing skills it would be a plus. Building, sheet rocking, wall papering, tiling, or finish carpentry would be a huge plus. Our house was never completely finished, because my husband has had 9 major surgeries and can no longer do the work himself.
