AVAILABILITY:

WE ARE NOW BOOKING NOV 21, 2017 ONWARD

Lincoln Hills Farm is a small-scale, organic farm located on a 10 acre homestead amidst beautiful rolling hills of farmland in northern California, approx 45 miles northeast of Sacramento. The farm was founded in 2012 by Tammi Riedl, who’s training in biodynamic farming at Rudolph Steiner College inspired her to leave her "corporate" career in finance, mid-life, to pursue her passion as a full-time steward of the land – to develop a regenerative farm, grow organic produce for her local community and teach regenerative agriculture.

We incorporate organic, biodynamic, permaculture and regenerative practices in our operations to grow vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers that are distributed through our vintage market farm stand in downtown Lincoln, local food hubs, grocery stores, hospitals, restaurants, casinos and businesses. We are also dedicated to providing healthy food to our local families in need through the Placer ... more inside

This is an opportunity for a few volunteers to learn how to build a home while helping raise money for charity at the same time. The work will cover all ranges of home construction and volunteers can expect to learn skills that would take most people years of schooling and training.

We are a group of building contractors and farmers focused on putting an end to unnecessary suffering. We believe in teaching people to fish, rather than providing it. Our goal is to acquire vacant land that is suitable for both farming and home building where we will create a community through teaching people how to grow their own food and build their own homes. We know this to be a truly sustainable path to empowering and enabling people to secure the healthy and happy futures they deserve.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit, funded by profits from local building/remodel projects.

It's believe that we live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Just hours from Yosemite, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, California. USA Right in the middle of California on an acre palm tree farm. A small family with much to offer to those who enjoy the beautiful out doors to the big city adventures. Our home is located in the country with outstanding views of the snow capped mountains. We are blessed with great weather though most of the year. Our six bedroom home is shared with myself, my early twenty year old daughter(she is one of four) and our four amazing Labradors. Our family has all grown up, many friends and family have lived with us through the 25 years we have called this place home. We have many accommodations to offer as well as a wonderful opportunity for those who would like to travel and experience beautiful California.
Being that our home is older there are many repair projects needed. Plumbing, electrical, landscaping, painters, construction and lots of ... more inside

Hi I'm Lindsey and I'm building an off-grid artists residency in the Mojave desert about 30 mins east of Joshua Tree, CA. The land is 5 acres and just getting set up so I need all kinds of help and all skill sets are welcome. Currently I could especially use help fixing my 1975 Winnebago. Other projects for this year include creating a ferrrocement water cistern, roof rehab & catchment system, and building an Earthbag Dome. Please check out the website & video.

Accommodations are camping or car/RV only. I have a small generator- water is hauled and there is an outhouse.

If you're an adventurous happy helper, prepared for the conditions of the Mojave desert, please reach out to be part of this exciting project. **Please do not contact me more than a month in advance of your intended visit.** Thank you!

I live on this beautiful island and live a wonderful stress free life. I am currently working on treehouse construction and a camper van project there are also daily things such as wood harvesting and crab fishing to do. I would be very happy to teach the skills I have amassed in the building trade. There is a wood fired sauna, pizza oven & jacuzzi on the property available as well as full bathroom & laundry facilities. I would be more than happy to exchange food (you would want to eat) & a (private) comfortable bed for at least 3hrs a day of work. I am very easy going and trustworthy so I would prefer you are as well.
I'm also on couchsurfing and have over 100 positive references:)

Nov 16 2017 Update: We have wrapped up another successful season, made possible with the help of some AMAZING folks from HelpX, WWOOF, and Workaway! We usually take a break from hosting until February, but may be able to host someone in Dec/Jan if it is the right fit. Someone applying during this time frame would need to have some rural living experience (woodstove, rainwater collection etc). Available work during this time frame would be indoor work including seed processing and packaging, interior painting, possibly some indoor construction or woodworking; and outdoor work including pruning small trees and blueberry orchard, landscaping, poultry care, firewood chopping and stacking. For this position, we would hope to find a person with some farming/gardening experience and a strong interest in learning and a solid work ethic. It is also important that this person be willing and able to work independently.

We are a community devoted to conservation, educational and soci... more inside

The food here is very good! And we have need of help with some interesting carpentry projects. And trail work in the forest. And/or help with our BnB. Located west of Mt. Rainier National Park, this is an FSC certified forest/wetland and includes a straw bale home and permaculture garden. I would be willing to have someone who would be able to help outside projects such as trail work or Gardening. And/or help with the bnb.

I would expect helpers to work 3-4 hours/day for 5 days/week. I will provide meals and work with you if I can, but your ability to work without me is appreciated.

If you can stay for more than two weeks, we usually get you out doing fun stuff like visiting Mt. Rainier or Seattle.

This property is a bit remote with no public transport near, so you will need a vehicle or be happy to come and go with us. I am totally willing to pick you up at SeaTac airport or from AmTrak or bus station in Tacoma or Olympia/Lacey.
