FGF has two immediate openings for 1 month or longer to work on the organic vegetable farm and help at the very busy farmers' markets.
We are currently farming vegetables on 12 acres but will be increasing to 50 acres in the near future. The vegetables are sold at 7 bay area farmers’ markets, a farm stand, & high end restaurants. We farm both summer and winter vegetables so we are always busy. Volunteers help us seed trays, transplant weed & harvest.
FGF is a non profit community farm with 3 missions 1. to give all people food access, 2. growing a new generation of famers and 3. educating the public on where food comes from.
There is a 2 week probationary period after arrival of helper to determine fit.
Our visitors work 6 days 4 to 6 hours per day.
We currently provide coed housing in 2 RVs that can house 8 or 9 and a covered tent platform for 4 tents to house 4 to 6 more. FGF generally have 8 to 12 visitors at a time. We have hosted over 100 in the past year & 1/2.

We are a couple in our early 30s and have a house 12 miles south of Seattle. We have been HelpXers many times over the years and are happy to now be able to host. Last summer we had a great time hosting people from France, New Zealand, Germany, & Turkey who assisted with the construction of a shed.

We can provide room and board in exchange for 4-5 hours of work 5 days/week. We are flexible and can talk about a schedule that works for you. It is a private bedroom with double bed and a shared bathroom. We prepare plant-based meals but you are welcome to cook anything you'd like if you prefer.

We are currently looking for help on landscaping, drainage and exterior painting/construction projects, as well as general help around the house with cooking and cleaning. Depending on our job schedules (Gwen is a high school teacher, Dave works in an office), we may be working together with you, other times we will explain the project and let you go to it!

There is plenty of room to camp as weill in a wonderful forest setting east of Willamette Pass, surrounded by lakes and loaded with hiking trails....please join us in this new adventure!

Located west of Mt. Rainier National Park, this is an FSC certified forest/wetland and includes a straw bale home and permaculture garden. We are in the process of creating bed and breakfast facilities, camping areas and a trail system. I would be willing to have someone who would be able to help with outside projects such as trail work or forest remediation work. In spring and summer we have lots of yard work and gardening.

I would expect helpers to work 3-4 hours/day for 5 days/week. I will provide meals and work with you if I can, but your ability to work without me is appreciated.

This property is a bit remote with no public transport near, so you will need a vehicle or be happy to come and go with me. I am totally willing to pick you up at SeaTac airport or from AmTrak station in Tacoma or Olympia.

**Summer is pretty full up - but we have a few short stays available**

We are a family of 3 living in 3 bedroom house just outside Portland, Oregon and really enjoy the exchange of culture when meeting new travelers or friends.

Have started a bit of an urban homestead on our quarter-acre lot - 12 raised bed vegetable gardens, blueberry/raspberries, fig trees etc. Through a local “bee-share” we recently added a hive to our property this spring. We have taken on a new challenge of doing some “refreshing” both outside and inside the house that we would love your help with.

Someone with general handyman skills will be able to help with the house - general carpentry and finish woodworking, interior and exterior paint prep work and application or maybe you like to craft in the kitchen. If you are more of an outside person or have green thumb - help with gardening, brush clearing or landscaping would be ideal. We would be happy to develop a "work plan" with you based on a combinat... more inside

Peaceful horse farm in southern Oregon offers clean, quiet room and board, in exchange for 25 hours per week of work on the farm.

Previous horse experience is a requirement. We are a family run horse breeding operation, and need assistance in handling youngstock, halter breaking foals, preparing and photographing sale animals, as well as some general farm work.

Our location is in beautiful southwestern Oregon, just a few miles west of Interstate 5. Our farm is located just outside of a small town, and about a 20 minute drive to more major shopping. We have good mobile phone reception at the farm as well as wifi.

We are easy going and this is a very pleasant location. Candidates need to be friendly, cheerful, a self starter, confident around horses (including stallions), and be able to complete tasks on their own, as work takes me away from the farm regularly.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. :-)
