This is a peaceful and secluded creative sanctuary in the high desert of Arizona near the Grand Canyon (altitude 3500 feet), that's dedicated to producing original art forms intended for global exposure. The goal is to plant seeds of a different kind and help heal our planet with higher vibrational energy. The main focus is on music production from recording to performance and relating to spirituality, although not religiously affiliated. Close to Las Vegas, it's in the wilderness and is self-contained in a very small community. However when deadlines have to be met, it's not a place to be passive. Once art is created it's meant to be shared ~ not kept to ourselves so there is work to be done. Time to relax will follow.
I need an assistant/right-hand-man (possible business partner) to help with office/online promotion for albums (iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby, Spotify and other sites) and to prep for performances. No investment required other than your time and energy. Also incl...

Hi, We're the mother daughter team of our 5 acre homestead set between Benson and Cascabel. We are coming upon our one year anniversary of starting our work trade programs. We have had a full house most of that time, having hands show up just in time of when they are needed. We truly can't thank everyone who has stayed with us enough for all the hard work that has been put in here. We are blessed and look forward to many more to come.
We're in a great area of the Southwest Arizona. We live right along the San Pedro River that runs seasonally and within an hour or so of different things like a copper mining town, an old west town, a mission, Mt Lemmon, Chiricahua Mts, the hills behind our land. Or just stay at home and enjoy our desert oasis. And for our international guests we are a bus ride from LA, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. We are a bit in the middle of nowhere. A twenty minute car ride takes you into the town of Benson. We are in an area that does not get regular cell ...

Hi everybody out there, for now, shortly, we have dogs, a cat, chickens, 2 rabbits, a Guinna pig, and an organic garden with fruit trees and a pond with fish. Which most times needs work. We live in a two story Adobe, 3 circles, round shaped, passive Solar house, that we build our self's in 1986, we are currently remodeling and adding on to. We have had lot's of people here, over the 25 years that we been here. I am am originally from Switzerland, Charlie is American, and have a daughter that's in High school. We are used to and enjoy living with other people. We are looking for energetic, positive, communicative people, that can contribute to our lives (and visa verso) learning from each other. At the moment we are constructing a new Greenhouse (that just got finished, thanks to all of you that came to help!!) and a bathroom. We love color, and being creative when building. Input always welcome. Comes summer, we are hoping to start building another house, and we will be needing ...

My husband and I live on five acres located several miles south of Gallup, New Mexico. Joe is originally from West Africa and I (Rachel) am American. We are developing our organic garden, which grows in size year by year, and we sell our produce at the Gallup farmers' market in summer. We have built our garden beds based on hugulkultur, an old concept that uses scrap wood and manure to build up our hard clay soil. We are still hauling decaying wood from the forests as well as horse manure from a neighbor.
There are also a couple of sheds that we are converting to greenhouses, and this summer we would like to build hoop houses for the outdoor garden beds. We also plan to install a greywater system and to plant more fruit trees and shrubs. We are interested in having help with gardening and building these improvements.
I also make handmade luxury soaps and lotions and sell them at the market. If you are interested in learning to do that, you can help me with that as well.

I am an older woman, living on five mostly undeveloped acres just outside Roswell, N.M. (yes, THAT Roswell) who needs help mostly outside, including landscaping (xeriscape), fencing and turning at least half of the property into a site suitable for goats, llamas and chickens, as well as a garden. (And, if you're into cooking or housekeeping, I wouldn't turn that down either.)
I also have several older motorcycles (my means of transportation) that could use some TLC if anyone has mechanical knowledge.
After wonderful experiences with several different HelpXers, my priorities currently are:
1. Repairing barbed-wire fence 2. Cleaning the property 3. Putting in vegetable garden 4. Others as needed
You'd get a private room (shared bath) in my home, and could work as many or as few hours a day as you'd like. I'm not a cook, and I work very odd hours, so I'll buy your food but for the most part, it'll be up to you to cook.
I discovered this site through Couch Surfing, and...

no farm here, i have a house with a fairly large yard. i'm learning about permaculture & dryland water harvesting. there is much to be done & it will take time & more muscles than i have!
lots of sunshine happens here, which rocks in the winter. not so great in summer. sorry i can't guarantee warm winters anymore either- we had 20 degrees last january! brrr. this is not common in the 35 years i have lived here. i do hope it won't become the new normal.
i have been too busy to do much with my place since the kids grew up. i broke both arms 2 years ago (short fall, long story!) so nothing was accomplished for many months of bone healing & muscle rebuilding._
both house & yard are need of help, though much less than when i 1st posted. i had an awesome long-term helpXer who accomplished wonderful things, including building an awesome chicken coop. people who have construction skills & especially those willing to dig are still most welcome! i have lots of plans!

I currently have a full slate of helpers lined up for the summer, though things could change. You are welcome to contact me, but I will not respond unless I need more help.
Our ranch is nestled in the western slope of the Rocky Mountains just a few miles from the West Elk Wilderness. I raise a few cows on a pure grass diet, which are then direct marketed to the end consumer as natural grassfed beef. Also raise horses which I use to guide and pack hunters into the Wilderness in the fall. There is also a small flock of chickens, a semi-wild orchard and a couple of gardens to supply our tables. I live here full time and another family has a weekend straw-bale off-grid cottage here. Ranch activities include haying, irrigating, fencing, gardening, moving livestock, moving electric fence, handling horses, building maintenance, orchard pruning, forest thinning, firewood gathering and a variety of general projects. I have other part-time work off the ranch so sometimes just need...

Mustang Training. This year we will be getting wild horses ready for adoption. We will gentle horses caught by the USFS in New Mexico or the BLM in other western states and get them into adoptive homes.
There are a limited number of spaces for volunteer ranch helpers. As a helper, besides helping with the horses, you will be also doing work to support the program such as building fences or working in the garden. You will definitely need boots and work gloves.
We no longer provide a free course in animal training but there is still an opportunity to learn a lot by observing what we do, sitting in on classes, and using our library of materials.
Smokers, substance abusers, people needing psychiatric medications, and compulsively reckless people SHOULD NOT APPLY.

as you can see on my website that this is a fully sustainable farm/renewable energy learning center powered by wind, sun and biogas. it borders a beautiful mountain wilderness in northern new mexico next to lakes, rivers and hot springs. helpers can expect nice accommodation [there are several apartments] and excellent local food [e.g. trout, mushrooms organic greens etc.]; tasks are varied and range from farming, taking care of livestock such as chickens, goats and rabbits, to construction and repair of energy systems. or picking mushrooms at 11.000 feet altitude... there are also all kind of food-related tasks such as baking bread or fermenting root vegetables and cabbage into kim chee, or making kombucha and tempeh those interested can learn about all aspects of sustainable living, on actually existing systems - not just theory. it is also a great place to see low-budget building methods such as adobe [mudbrick] strawbale, pumicecrete, pallets and earthships [my neighbor's, not ...

UPDATE: We are not a Vegetarian operation:we eat and serve:pork, beef, chicken, dairy ( all pastured and healthy). We have been working with “organics” since the early 70’s and use these methods on this farm we purchased in 2005. It was a played-out old farm stead, heavily abused by farm chemicals. We are working to restore the soil to a viable state for our crops and animals by using raw milk, fermented horsetail, molasses, fish emulsion, etc. We raise registered Miniature Hereford cattle, a few milk cows, some honey bees, sometimes a pig or two, laying hens, one horse, two dogs, a cat and ducks. We are experimenting with breeding a smaller Jersey. We have baby ducks coming this month ( April 2013) We can handle several folks with all sorts of daily farm jobs. There is always: Garden work, barn work, field work, fence work, tree work, cattle wrangling, to name a few.
When a HelpXer or Wwoofer shows up, we figure he/she came because he/she wanted to work long hours (10 to 12), 6...
