Ready to see some aliens? Come to Roswell and visit the UFO Museum and other fascinating places here. BTW, you will not find any aliens in my house, sorry to say...

I am a retired teacher, and I stay busy most of the time. I am a Teacher Liaison for the Space Foundation, president of the Roswell Astronomy Club, tutor for people online and in person, volunteer at church and in schools, and a travel nut. I was an exchange student in Spain for a semester and have also traveled throughout Europe and Brazil. I have hosted and surfed often through Couchsurfing and enjoy meeting new people.

I am married with two sons. My oldest son lives in Nashville after landing a great job, and my youngest son is starting his second year at college. The youngest son does come home periodically for some home-cooked meals. :) We have three outside dogs and four cats that spend time inside and out.

My husband and I live in a ranch-style home outside of the Roswell city limits. Our ho... more inside

Looking for HelpXers after November 12.

We are family of 4 who moved to Texas from Australia 3 years ago. Nate is a scientist and Rika is an Elementary Teacher. Our daughters are 11 years and 9 years old. We have 2 dogs and 2 horses. We are looking to add chickens and veggie gardens to the farm.

Our farm is 5 acres of thick Cedar and Oak trees. There is a full size sand arena and 3 stall barn on property. The house has all the comforts of WiFi, bathrooms and laundry. There are many parks, trails and reserves close by.

We ask for 2-3 hours a day per person. This is in exchange for room and food. Current projects could include clearing land (trees, bushes and rocks), building a chicken coop, renovation of home, cleaning chores in home, cooking, picking up dog poop, unpacking garage, etc.

We have an airstream camper with a/c that you can reside in. Small kitchen. Can't use bathroom as the plumbing is not hooked up but can use showers, bathtub etc in house.

ARIZONA: FLEXIBLE HOMESTAY OPPORTUNITY FOR GERMAN OR ENGLISH SPEAKERS

This is a great opportunity for a brief and casual "add-on" before, after or between your other volunteering, work-exchange projects or homestays in the U.S. If you are exploring the U.S., or making your way to another assignment, and would like to layover in Arizona, then keep reading!

My particular interest is in hosting native or fluent German speakers who would like to help me improve my German (both Hochdeutsch and conversational / idiomatic). I have six semesters of college-level German but need help with my vocabulary. I would describe myself as B1, maybe B2 proficiency. I can help you with your English in exchange if you like. The maximum stay for German speakers is one month.

Those who are not German speakers can perform other modest services for me. I have an always-evolving list of household projects around the house -- including manual labor (especially painting and paint-stripping), as well a... more inside

We need helpers beginning in April going forward. Our normal stay is 2 weeks but we will try to work with your schedule.

We prefer to have "Helpers" who are willing to socialize with our family and learn what we do as well as teaching us what they do. We want this to be a 2-way street. We also prefer that you have some self-motivation.

Our main focus is the rescue of llamas and alpacas and we need help in the pastures with feeding, fencing, clearing tree branches, burning etc. We have projects going on at all times and can use someone who is willing to learn about our operation. Would also like help with projects around the property including electrical and minor carpentry. Our chickens are in their "palace" due to our Helpxer's and we now have fresh eggs. We are expanding our chicken palace to move 30 new ones in.

Besides helping with the llamas and alpacas, we have property projects, and other odds and ends.

We have very limited internet (no Wi-Fi) but you can che... more inside

I manage five mobile home rental properties in the Phoenix Metro area, in south Scottsdale Arizona on the border with Tempe Arizona just a few miles from Arizona State University.

I need help with building an outdoor yoga studio, renovating houses, landscaping and maintaining a small urban garden. There are always projects to work on and I appreciate ideas from helpers to improve the properties.

Short-term home stay options: (one week to two months) Projects are usually done from October - April with an opportunity for free accommodations in exchange for work, helpers provide their own meals.

Long-term Homestay option From May - September, helper is needed to stay in my home while I am away and handle some errands, property management tasks. Helpers are responsible for utilities costs and meals.

My husband Tim and I moved out to our place in the desert in January 2008 along with our many plants. It was soon after we arrived that I got re-introduced to the miracle Moringa tree and began growing them. One thing led to another and our company was born. We have continued to grow our little farm to what it is today. We have an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees, an enclosed veggie garden area that is protected from wildlife, several growing structures (greenhouses in winter and shade structures in summer), and lots of projects to become more self sustainable, including solar energy production, etc.

We endeavor to provide a vast range of experiences for someone, and to offer a well balanced variety of activities that allows someone to learn as well as to contribute. As our business continues to grow, as well as the natural shift in focus / priorities that happens from season to season, our needs at various times also shift. Our most immediate need at the momen... more inside

Hi there! Our farm is a homestead-scale farm run just outside of Austin, Texas. We (Jeremy and Suzannah) raise duck, rabbit and duck eggs. We raise some vegetables in raised beds while working to build soil health in our field so we can use it for greater production. We use organic principles at the farm though it is not certified organic.

We live in a 3 BR home on the property and you would live in either a spare bedroom in our home, or in a mobile home located on the property as well. We are in the process of fixing up the mobile home.

We are seeking someone to assist with carpentry work on the mobile home so we can invite farm interns or short term rentals in 2018 while growing community around the Farm. The ultimate goal is to outfit the space for visiting chefs and other food educators to stay so that we can provide educational opportunities to the local farming community. You would assist with daily chores, egg, and meat production. We are asking for 4 hours of work, 5 d... more inside

I run a 2 acre off grid and water haul permaculture farm in the middle of the high desert (60 miles from Kingman and 100 miles from Las Vegas) and Iíve been growing veggies, salad, berries, medicinals and last year planted 25 fruit trees.

Iíve learned the hard way that itís impossible to make a living selling organic food in rural areas where most people choose to buy their ďfoodĒ at Dollar General or Family Dollar. Itís very sad, but thatís how it is. And itís no reason to not grow lots of food, but I had to make some adjustments.

Iím looking into starting a tiny house community and will grow food for visitors and attendees of various workshops and activities such as permaculture, growing food in the desert, gravity irrigation, building with adobe, off grid living, making medicinal salves, gold prospecting, native plant tours, etc.

Itís been a long h... more inside
