We need helpers beginning in September going forward. Our normal stay is 2 weeks but we will try to work with your schedule.

We prefer to have "Helpers" who are willing to socialize with our family and learn what we do as well as teaching us what they do. We want this to be a 2-way street. We also prefer that you have some self-motivation.

Our main focus is the rescue of llamas and alpacas and we need help in the pastures with feeding, fencing, clearing tree branches, burning etc. We have projects going on at all times and can use someone who is willing to learn about our operation. Would also like help with projects around the property including electrical and minor carpentry. Our chickens are in their "palace" due to our Helpxer's and we now have fresh eggs. We are expanding our chicken palace to move 30 new ones in.

Besides helping with the llamas and alpacas, we have property projects, and other odds and ends.

We have very limited internet (no Wi-Fi) but you can... more inside

Our 40 acre homestead is located in the high plains of New Mexico, at an altitude of >7500 feet above sea level. We started building from scratch six years ago, and currently raise pigs, chickens, and rabbits for meat, for our consumption and for market. We also have Jersey cow for milk, her calf and another beef calf. We are committed to raising our animals on an organic and non-gmo diet, and practice all levels of permaculture to improve our somewhat desolate landscape. Growing native fruit trees and bushes is a passion for us, alongside planning for a more conventional orchard. Housing provided for guests is a large geodesic dome, with a solar set up for power, no indoor plumbing, a woodstove for heat, and a camp kitchen for preparing food. We live quite rustically, fitting ourselves into the land rather than trying to change the land to fit our needs. Our farm is thirty miles from the two closest towns and our dirt roads are rough, so a vehicle with good ground clearance... more inside

We are proud to be a foster farm for a llama rescue organization. Our farm is a llama refuge located in the hill country of South Central Texas. Normal stays are 1 to 2 weeks. Stays for more than 2 weeks depends on availability & projects. Helpers are accepted year round. The hill country of Texas has four seasons with different activities possible during each season. Our main focus is the care of llamas, poultry, cats, dogs and rescue of llamas. We do not use any pesticides on the land and use herbal medicines as well as conventional medicines for the animals. Accommodations vary with the time of year and what is available. Tent camping is available, however it is hot in the summer & cold in the winter. Electricity & water available for your own camper or RV. Toilet is a humanure system or shared with the farm house.

We would like HELPX members to help in the compassionate care of animals or the repair or construction of out-buildings or maintenance of facilities and pastures. ... more inside

I am an older woman, living on five mostly undeveloped acres just outside Roswell, N.M. (yes, THAT Roswell) who needs help mostly outside, trying to make my property self-sustainable. I'm learning as I go, so trying new things is always fun.

I have just retired from my job and will be traveling the world for the next few years. However, the property still needs caring for and my caretaker, Gary, a HelpXer himself, will be overseeing it and taking over the hosting duties.

Thanks to some marvelous HelpXers in the past, the major (read: really hard) work is done, so now I need folks who can help plant, weed, water and harvest my gardens, as well as feed and care for my two llamas, six goats, two ducks and dozen or so chickens.

There's still some outdoor cleanup to be done and we both love folks who come up with creative new ideas for my property. (And, if you're into cooking or housekeeping, we won't turn that down either.)

This spring, Gary is looking for folks skilled in... more inside

About Blue Mountain Trail Vineyard:
Sustainably farmed wine grape vineyard in the Davis Mountains of west Texas, about 25 miles north of Marfa and 30 miles from the Amtrak station in Alpine. We have beds for five or six people in a communal sleeping space in the upstairs area of an insulated metal building, with kitchen, bathroom and living space downstairs. At 5400ft (1650M) elevation, our winters are cold but the summers are mostly mild, with warm days and cool nights. The temperatures here rarely exceed 92F (33C).
While I am looking for help most of the year, spring and fall are the busiest times, and sometimes we have a pretty good crowd here for pruning, planting and harvesting. If you're interested in learning about viticulture and wine making, this is your place. I'm still learning about those things too.

I'm also looking for help with some alternative building projects, especially putting up a straw bale barrel room

Open now! We have camping space in our awesome 16' dome available until July 22nd; after that we are booked until mid-January. Please email me if you are interested! (Camping means you need to bring a sleeping pad, sleeping bag, etc.)

A serious interest in organic farming and willingness to do outdoor work is necessary.

Internships of over 1 month will start with a one-month trial period to make sure we're a good fit. If it works out well, then we can extend it up to 4 months.

We are a small sustainable farm, on 4 acres, 5 miles south of Albuquerque at 4900-feet elevation. We are in our 10th year, and work is varied. We welcome honest, fun-loving and hardworking folks who love to get their hands dirty. We have a 1/4 acre vegetable garden, and do a lot of food preservation in the summer and fall. We raise chickens, turkeys, and a peacock. In addition, five adults, one small child, and three cats currently live on the property.

Summer housing (April-Oct) consists of ... more inside

We are two natural health practitioners and community leaders creating a sustainable farm in beautiful southeastern Arizona, on 55+ beautiful acres of rolling hills landscape. Using watersaving techniques, including drip irrigation, aquaponics, and rainwater harvesting. This spring we will have 5-10 farm members, and we're very excited about growing more and more!

In exchange for basic grocery staples (restocked weekly), goat milk and cheese, eggs and produce from the farm (all, when available), and a few dinners and breakfasts each week, we would look for 3 to 5 hours of work each day, 5-6 days a week. We are also happy to show you around, take you on hikes, and share with you our beautiful corner of Arizona.

We have four dogs - they are friendly and good ranch dogs. Unfortunately, we can not host guests with dog/s.

No drugs. Smoking is ok, outside only. Light drinking is ok.

We enjoy our privacy, and will respect yours. We will not enter your quarters without your... more inside
