We are particularly interested in hosting HELPXERS for the months of July through the fall, come and share in our life in the farm and the community. and experience the Midwest. We are located in the southern part of the state of Indiana and share culture with Louisville, KY. Days here are lived to the fullest, whether working, creating or relaxing; whether in the field, the garden, the river, the pond, the kitchen or the table; whether privately on the land we are so grateful to be able to steward or with the incredibly wholesome community here. Our Farm is Smoke, alcohol and drug free. We enjoy and protect the wild life, sorry we do not promote domestic animals on the property. We are gentle and respectful people and expect the same from our guest. As customary, the person joining us, is expected to work five hours a day, five days a week in exchange for room and board; Saturday and Sunday are consider your time. However, occasionally you may have to work longer hours because of... more inside

Hi everyone,

Jenny & Alex here! We moved to Detroit in 2013 after living in Asia for 5 years. Alex is originally from California and Jenny is from Hong Kong. We met in Germany through an internship and later fell in love in a hostel in Spain while road-tripping through wine country. Alex has a background in tech start-ups in NYC and California while Jenny worked in marketing for L'Oreal in Hong Kong & Germany.

We LOVE to travel and have lived and adventured throughout Europe and Asia extensively. In 2013 we decided to move back to the US and thought we would end up in California but when we heard they were tearing houses down in Detroit we decided to check it out. As any open-minded traveler knows, a good place can often be distorted by the media so we decided to do a road trip to see the city for ourselves. After driving into Detroit we fell in love with the city! People here have a lot of pride and heart. There is a spirit of resilience and you can feel the energy as the ci... more inside

Let us show some good homesteading skills - they can help you for life. This is the way God intended for us. Connect with yourself and nature at NBN.
So we offer cleaner air, wonderful working conditions, birds singing, flowers blooming, organic food and water without chloride or fluoride. Experience microbiology through fermentation of food. Our new direction is to improve the quality of our veggies by changing the foliar feeding at different stage of growth
The path we tread develops spiritual awareness and tending milk goats, steers and pigs develops a caring character. Live reality and shun the artificial man-made life.

Green Building project using the cordwood masonry technique. This building will be an energy efficient, green, art studio.

I am a printmaker/papermaker/bookmaker eager to move my equipment in and have folks join me in the studio for creating and learning.

This is year 9 of the project- the timber framing is up, all the cordwood walls are complete, sub flooring on first and second floor is in, metal roof is on and the first floor has electric, ceiling fans and lighting and vinyl plank flooring is all done!

Help is needed to install plumbing for the two bathrooms and kitchen, dig trenches for a water and sewer lines and run electrical wires to the second floor outlets. Three dead trees need to be cut down.Bringing your own chain saw is a plus.

I live in a small village about a forty minute drive from St Louis, on 4 fishing lakes, in a 670 sq. ft. log cabin next to the building site. I can provide sleeping bag space in the studio. You would share the kitchen and one bath... more inside

We started our Vineyard back in 2004,it is located in a Beautiful,Quiet,Valley along the bluffs of the Mississippi River. We have five children that have now grown and moved out on there own. My wife who worked as a Registered Nurse for over twenty years is now unfortunately disabled and spends most of her time at home,I just retired from a career of Process Instrument Work at the local power plant. I could use some help with the Vineyard and Gardens, but also enjoy fishing and boating on the river in the evenings and of course days off. We would be willing to supply your own bedroom, great meals and WiFi. We also have two Female Collies that love to get brushed and played with. The ideal person would have to be able to work on there own or in a small group, after some training of course to get you up to your comfort level, so as you basically understand what the goals might be for the time of year and tasks at hand, a few hours a day,if the weather permits, is what we usually wor... more inside

The home is located in a wonderful area of Chicago where Noble Square, West Loop, and River West meet. You will be able to enjoy walks to many parks, the library, restaurants, and more lively areas such as Wicker Park and the heart of the West Loop. Divvy bikes are steps from the front door, a bus stop is less than a block away that can take you directly to Navy Pier or connect you to any other part of the city. The mission of our farm is to teach people how to be healthy through good nutrition, exercise, relationships, and a healthy lifestyle. We also provide healthy food for our customers and show them how to prepare it. We have a large garden and small CSA, we make maple syrup, we grow corn, soybeans, wheat, spelt and hay and we raise chickens for eggs, and grass-fed beef. We mill the wheat into flour and corn into cornmeal. We have a sawmill and make our own lumber. We have lots of events including maple sugaring open house, mushroom hunts, and fall festivals. We do other special events including hayrides, retreats, and weddings. We have finished our cabin at the lake and it is open for visitors and events. We love to have volunteers and some resist leaving because of the atmosphere. Send us an email. Hope to hear from you. My photos are mostly with former helpxers, I appear with the bull and pitchfork.

By the way, we have two horses that do not get enough work. Would you like to wor... more inside

Greetings! Since 2010, Wilder Thymes has hosted over 60 work exchange people, and the experiences have ranged everywhere from horrible to fantastic! All of that has led to where things stand now. Out of necessity, I have reduced the amount of things that I grow down to a fraction of what I used to, so that if I get into a situation where I donít have any reliable help, that the farm is still manageable for me, and I am not stuck working day and night, never able to have any fun, and where I only get to sleep twice a week, just in order to maintain everything, and keep it going. That isnít my idea of a good time! So less is more! But yet, I still try to grow enough stuff to make it amazing, diverse and worthwhile. Itís a delicate balance! Nevertheless, who really wants to do all this by themselves, right?!! That isn't a whole lot of fun either, and hiring someone isnít really feasible. So if I can find 1 or 2 good work exchange people to work with me, we can accomplish grea... more inside
