We have started a Vineyard, located in a Beautiful,Quiet,Valley along the bluffs of the Mississippi River. We have five children that have now grown and moved out on there own.My wife who worked as a Nurse for over twenty years is now disabled and spends most of her time at home,I just retired from a career of Process Instrument Work at the local power plant. I could use some help with the Vineyard and Gardens, but also enjoy fishing and boating on the river. We would be willing to supply your own bedroom, good meals and WiFi. We also have two Collies that love to get brushed and played with. The ideal person would have to be able to work on there own a couple hours a day, weather permitting. There might be a few longer days, but I'm sure that having time off to check out the area won't be any problem. If you would care to e mail us, we would gladly share more pics of our place and the Vineyard. There is a Greyhound Bus Terminal and Amtrak Train Station located 15 miles North of us ... more inside

We are particularly interested in hosting HELPXERS for the months of March through July, come and share in our life in the farm and the community. and experience the Midwest. We are located in the southern part of the state of Indiana and share culture with Louisville, KY. ***Apply soon for Spring 2018!***Our rural retirement dream located in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks is just minutes from the Ozark National Scenic Riverways featuring the Jack's Fork, Current, and Eleven Point Rivers, and the Black River and Clearwater Lake are also nearby. Great fishing and kayaking are available nearly all year. We are surrounded by privately held woodland and the Mark Twain National Forest, featuring miles and miles of beautiful country roads and hiking trails, including sections of the Ozark Trail. Helpers at our little farm can expect bountiful scenic beauty to take away the sting of chores, and plenty of free time to explore. We need immediate help with farmhouse renovations and various outdoor chores. For the present, I am on my own here at the farm while my husband is working at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., so I am looking for female helpers only, or a couple, to help me keep things under control and get ahead on a few projects. The mission of our farm is to teach people how to be healthy through good nutrition, exercise, relationships, and a healthy lifestyle. We also provide healthy food for our customers and show them how to prepare it. We have a large garden and small CSA, we make maple syrup, we grow corn, soybeans, wheat, spelt and hay and we raise chickens for eggs, and grass-fed beef. We mill the wheat into flour and corn into cornmeal. We have a sawmill and make our own lumber. We have lots of events including maple sugaring open house, mushroom hunts, and fall festivals. We do other special events including hayrides, retreats, and weddings. We have finished our cabin at the lake and it is open for visitors and events. We love to have volunteers and some resist leaving because of the atmosphere. Send us an email. Hope to hear from you. My photos are mostly with former helpxers, I appear with the bull and pitchfork.

By the way, we have two horses that do not get enough work. Would you like to wor... more inside

Greetings! Since 2010, Wilder Thymes has hosted over 60 work exchange people, and the results have ranged everywhere from horrible to fantastic! All of that has led to where things stand now. Out of necessity, I have reduced the amount of things that I grow down to a fraction of what I used to, so that if I get into a situation where I donít have any reliable help, that the farm is still manageable for me, and I am not stuck working day and night, never able to have any fun, and where I only get to sleep twice a week, just in order to maintain everything, and keep it going. That isnít my idea of a good time! So less is more! But yet, I still try to grow enough stuff to make it amazing, diverse and worthwhile. Itís a delicate balance! Nevertheless, who really wants to do all this by themselves, right?!! Thatís no fun either, and hiring someone isnít really feasible. So if I can find a work exchange person who will work hard with me, it should enhance things, and afford us t... more inside

We are a horse breeding farm in Southern Minnesota USA.
I am a high school teacher. I have several dogs that live inside and outside on the property so you must be comfortable living around them.
Volunteer work would feed and water horses as well as cleaning tack, maintaining stables and checking pastures. I prefer someone with horse experience but willing to train someone with basic horse knowledge.
Duties could include general animal care, gardening, mowing the property, routine repairing fences and farm buildings and painting fences and buildings during the summer. If you come during the winter months, the works will consist of caring for horses & helping around property.
We enjoy hosting people from other countries as well as North America.
There are lakes and parks in the area. I provide transportation for your days off for sightseeing and exploring the area. Volunteers are expected to work 5 hours per day, 5 days per week with flexible scheduling.
We have a baseme... more inside

Looking for someone with carpentry experience, basic plumbing skill, gardening skill, and knows how to handle a chainsaw. Safety is important! (Must be responsible!) We hope to finish up a solar heated shower, siding on the shop, and other projects. We garden organically and eat that way pretty much. Looking for someone soon with Christian values, good morals, until late May. [These are the most important tasks right now.]
We'd consider/welcome a strong, healthy, congenial. Must be non-smokers, not "given to drink," no drugs, no pets, people who are trustworthy. Modest dress is required for both men and women.
Must be cooperative, can-do attitude to get the job done, learn, and have fun accomplishing some worthy goals! :-) We trust, from past experiences, that you will get more out of it than you put into it, and you will be better for coming and learning this work/life. Here we have gardens to plant/tend, landscaping to design/do, summer "solar" shower & bathroom to build, carpen... more inside
