Please read the entire profile as it concerns 2 properties.

Looking for a caregiver for my father, who is 97 and has dementia. Accommodations are a private room in a shared house. This is a historic building, a converted church, built in 1829. He has 2 caregivers, but they cannot be there all the time, so I need someone who can fill in for the times they aren't there. My father mostly needs help with preparing meals and making sure he doesn't wander or fall. There is no lifting required. Helpers must be able to commit to at least a one month stay.

I also own a farm, which consists of 23 secluded acres of woods and fields bordered by a river, situated outside a small town. There is a large organic vegetable/herb/berry garden and perennial beds, an orchard, chickens, 2 horses and 3 cats. I strive to practice low-input, regenerative farming and gardening techniques. No chemicals are used here.

Helpers who are interested are welcome to spend time on the farm as well. It's a... more inside

We are a married couple learning to farm, focusing on following intuition and flow, living simply and inexpensively Ė and making a Living rather than merely money.

We are off-grid, with limited solar power, rainwater and well water, wood heat, outdoor solar-heated shower and bonfire-heated bathtubs, and an outhouse. We have a 1958 2-bedroom mobile home and an 8x8 pallet fort shack for guests to sleep in, as well as plenty of spots for tents.

We are looking for helpers to assist with harvesting, planting, weeding, mulching, building, etc in exchange for good food and a place to sleep - as well as the experience of taking part in this experiment in alternative living and organic farming! We are laid back, but we are usually working on one thing or another most of every day here - it's a busy life but a wonderful one.

The farm is a mile from the beautiful Saint Croix River and just over an hour from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul in Minnesota. A neighbor often ... more inside

We have started a Vineyard, located in a Beautiful,Quiet,Valley along the bluffs of the Mississippi River. We have five children that have now grown and moved out on there own.My wife who worked as a Nurse for over twenty years is now disabled and spends most of her time at home,I just retired from a career of Process Instrument Work at the local power plant. I could use some help with the Vineyard and Gardens, but also enjoy fishing and boating on the river. We would be willing to supply your own bedroom, good meals and WiFi. We also have two Collies that love to get brushed and played with. The ideal person would have to be able to work on there own a couple hours a day, weather permitting. There might be a few longer days, but I'm sure that having time off to check out the area won't be any problem. If you would care to e mail us, we would gladly share more pics of our place and the Vineyard. There is a Greyhound Bus Terminal and Amtrak Train Station located 15 miles North of us ... more inside

We are a young family living on the south side of Chicago. Laura is a high school art teacher and Cory is a community organizer. We have a baby boy, Bayard, born January 2015. In 2012/2013 Cory and I traveled the world, and did helpX along the way. We loved our experiences and would like to provide a similar experience for fellow travelers.

We just bought our first home and need some help getting settled in. We have a few painting projects and some small construction projects we would like to get underway. We also need help with day to day things, like cooking, doing some deep cleaning, organizing our stuff, and other odd jobs. We both work full time outside of the house, so we need helpers who are independent and can start and finish jobs on their own with little instruction. Let us know if this is you.

Our location is 4.5 miles from Chicago's central loop, a short 20 minute bus ride. You can walk to Lake Michigan and great beaches from our house, along with a wonderful bik... more inside

Located 90 miles west of Chicago, our eco-sanctuary and retreat center is a seasonal facility from May to October that is used to host workshops, retreats, festivals, gatherings and events that promote healthy living, creative arts, spirituality, sustainability, and getting closer to nature. Yoga is also a focus; you can expect a yoga class every day (either led, or self-practice time) at the farm.

This farm-turned campground-turned retreat center has a vibrant community with much excitement. We need your help to make this a sanctuary, sustainable not only to the ecosystem, but financially as well. There is a lot of work to do but there is even more fun to be had. 37 beautiful acres, towering oaks, historic barns, fireflies, campfires, starry nights, a swimming pond and a positive loving community.
