We are a grassroots community support organization. We need volunteers who are willing to stay for longer periods than shorter. We need volunteers on several different projects. The projects include: 1) Toledo Ecotourism Association - working to help empower Maya communities to be self-sustaining through cultural ecotourism (marketing, monitoring already working sites, filming, etc.), 2) LRL - Liberating Recycling Leaders - working with the youth of the Toledo District in Belize and helping them achieve not only recycling goals, but the goal of building a recycling plant in Toledo, 3) other grassroots organizations. Furthermore, we're seeking volunteers to help start a survival adventure course. We need volunteers with experience and those without - those with medical experience, and other applicable training. Please let us know if you are qualified in a particular field. Knowing what you're trained in or good at will help us know which project we will place you in. All are welcome...

We are a remote site located in the jungle in the foothills of the Mountain Pine Ridge, western Belize. For 8 years we operated a hostel here called Barton Creek Outpost. Today the Outpost is next door and we simply live here, operate a tropical plant and palm nursery as well as a seasonal citrus grove. Periodically we host adventure groups, volunteer groups and chirch mission groups. Our volunteers assist in these endeavors.
We are looking for volunteers to work around the property. People with mechanical, handyman or building skills would receive priority consideration.
Volunteers work in a beautiful environment, off the grid in the Belizean jungle, with our family. We require a minimum commitment of 30 days but we prefer longer if it proves to be a win/win situation. Many volunteers have stayed with us for multiple months.
Your time with us usually consists of 5- 6 hour workdays and helping with evening meal preparations/cleanup in the course of a 6 day workweek. We ...

My name is Suzi. We moved to Belize from Texas about 2 years ago. WE own a farm in Bullet Tree Falls, Cayo. We are reclaiming an existing fruit farm from the bush. So far we have been able to remain organic as far as our fruit and veggies go. Along with many fruit trees, we are extending our garden, landscaping, and chopping bush. There is also work to be done in and around the barn. We shipped in Quarter Horses and have a great horse trainer on staff. We have "A LOT" of dogs and a few goats along with chickens. We are in the process of constructing buildings and will also need volunteers willing to help with that as well. Everyone shares in daily chores. We work as a team here. Non- smokers ONLY! Tent accommodation and meals are available. "If you have a special diet this may not be the place for you. Volunteers eat what we eat."

Self sufficient activities at the backpackers hostel and farming with the local farmers on their family farm in Sarteneja, traditional village between jungle and sea. Make a positive contribution to Belize and come to help and learn from old local farmers. We make the link between helpers and farmers from Sarteneja. You will not work for the backpackers hostel itself. For every half day of work with a local farmer, the backpackers offers one big meal a day, and a free access to its communal kitchen and Internet. Camping is available at the hostel for $US3 a night, cabins for $US12 a night More info see our blog link above.
