We are a family of 4, with a new baby on the way in Mid. January. My wife and I are from Canada's west coast and have settled down roots in the French Caribbean, creating on our little paradise/ vacation rentals.

We have empty apartments in low season, and never seem to catch up with all our projects. In High season (August and November through June) we have camp sites available for extra helpers if interested.

If you travel during low or high season, want to make new friends? Trying to keep your budget down and willing to pitch in a little work till noon, then you should contact us. In High season, if you like camping, or don't mind switching apartments if they are available, you should also contact us.

Also, if you have any project idea's you would like to propose, we are always interested in new ideas.

-Looking for help to catch up on many projects in our villa and in the yard/jungle and river-bed.

-Some gardening, yard-work (forest, river add under-story), house ... more inside

We live in a tropical, terraform farm in the beautiful, serene, rural mountains of Guayama, Puerto Rico. These sacred lands have been cultivated for generations, with our family working the earth for the past 20 years. Our farm is a lush, gorgeous landscape where we grow a myriad of fruits, vegetables and flowers (banana, papaya, plantains, coffee, passion fruit, legumes, oranges, noni, lettuce, squash, tomatoes, orchids, root vegetables…just to name a few). We believe and practice sustainable, terraform conservation farming in loving protection and in high respect of Mother Earth/Pachamama.

Work: We work Mon-Fri, 6am-2pm with a breakfast break followed by lunch at the end of the work day. The grounds always need our tender love and care in the form of seeding, planting, hoeing, weeding, weed-whacking, pruning, clearing, harvesting, etc. We also conduct additional farm-related projects such as construction, road building, small engine repair, etc. In addition to farm and construc... more inside

We started our farm in Martinique six years ago.

US :

Tommaso is agronomist, he grew up in Italy and worked in several African countries before arriving on this little island. Celine, an agriculture historian, grew up in Martinique and came back to make her dream of an organic farm come true.
We both had the opportunity to take a Permaculture Design Course (PDC) in Pai, Thailand, that inspired us a lot.
Macabou, Celine's parents land, offered us the opportunity to start this adventure.
The land is quite steep and is surrounded by a beautiful forest. In the middle of the forest a lake and beyond, the sea.

THE PROJECT :

The project takes shape. Many ideas are floating in our minds and step by step find their way on the land. At the same time we learn how to realize dreams.

A hudge orchard is growing and expanding presenting a high diversity of tropical fruits. Diversity and catastrophe resilience are our main goals. We expect to build a tropical food forest, here... more inside

OUR PROJECT : To transform a nicely running Bed & Breakfast hostel in an inspirating 4 elements camp. Everything should be inspired by the 4 ancient elements.

We're a small polyglot group of 5 partners (Austrian, German, Belgium and Dominican). English speaking is a must, Spanish speaking is a need, but could be part of the learning to practice your spanish basics.
The camp is administrated by a couple, which lives there. Actually (07-2017) we are in the transition period, we are looking for a new administration. we are in low season now, everything is open and goes on.

YOUR STAY :
We host minimum on a 2 weeks basis. But after the first 3 days both parties might decide differently. If everybody is happy we prefer long term stays. The longest stay we had until now has been of 6 months.

Hi, I'm Thierry. I live at the end of the world in Dominica (Commonwealth). My property is not to far from the beach with a large garden.
I would like to create a dry forest botanic garden and also an organic vegetable garden.
This Ecolodge is using solar electricity and harvesting of rain water.
I'm looking for volunteers to help with these projects, but also to assist in building the lodge.
There is gardening, landscaping, concrete, gardening, carpentry, tiling, gardening, electrical, painting, gardening, plumbing, swimming pool, diving, long chair, gardening, hammock, (the kitchen I often reserve except dishes;-)) and plenty of other things like .... gardening. You tell me what you like.
I'm only engineer (and in electronic), so when i created the "Kabane" it was Spartiate, efficient but not cosy.
Also I need help to paint or decorate the bungalows. You'll probably immediately tell me "ohh, with that there it will be nicer". That's what I mean "The Artistic Touch". If yo... more inside
