Hola, Hello,

We are a cosy and charming hostel in the beautiful colonial city of Granada in Nicaragua.
Located by Lake Nicaragua, 2nd largest lake in Latin America, Granada is one of the first city of Central America. Only 1h30 from Managua's airport, it's also a perfect base to explore Nicaragua where you'll find some beautiful volcanoes, colorful markets and breathtaking beaches.

Our hostel is situated in the beating heart of Granada, just next to the nice Iglesia de la Merced (last picture)

We have a capacity of less than 60 people which means 7 dorms and 6 private rooms, a nice patio with a lot of plants (banana tree, grapes, fig tree, mango tree, avocado tree, plus a lot of exotic flowers...), also an open kitchen in the garden, hammocks, a book exchange, a bar with homemade cocktails and a roof top to chill.
We host mainly backpackers from all around the world travelling across America.

The Nicaraguan highlands are known for some of the world’s best coffee plants.

The coffee farm is now being further developed in a diversified farm (coffee, other food crop and animals) and shaped into a platform for exchange of knowledge and cultural values between the native people and individual travelers from around the world.

With this platform we want to improve the local economy and quality of life. Furthermore we strive to maintain Nicaragua’s cultural values in times of growing tourism.

A space where travelers can learn and live the culture and also give some of their own experience and individual values to the local people. It’s about give and take.
You’ll be living in the same conditions as the farm workers: you’ll have a roof above your head, a mattress, running water and electricity. Food will be supplied three times per day.

Based on our values we believe that every person has an individual way of how to approach a new culture. May be through music, meet... more inside

Are you on a long trip and looking to spend some time at a chilled out, nature focused, eco-hostel with great food?
We are looking for fun loving social people to help out in a guest facing role in our hostel. You will help with breakfasts, check-ins, check outs, the family style dinner, working the bar and most importantly creating a great atmosphere for the guest. There is plenty of down time during the day to swim, lounge in hammocks, and just relax. As a volunteer we'll provide a bed in the dorm or a hammock if the dorm is full, limited breakfast, and a family style dinner on the nights you work. On your days off if you join us for dinner it will be 50% off and all drinks are discounted. You do have access to the kitchen to cook for yourself as well. Ideally you will work with another volunteer as a pair and you work 4 days on 3 days off but this depends on the current number of volunteers. ********Update - We are now looking for volunteers from September 2017 onwards for a number of projects running to December 2017. We are particularly looking for people with experience and skills in cooking for small groups (healthy but tasty food) and building repairs (particularly building carpentry and framing).

Our lodge is located directly on the beach of the Pacific Ocean, on a nearly deserted island, yet only 20 minutes from the historic city of Leon, Nicaragua and a 5 minute boat ride from the beach town of Poneloya. We are the only Island solar powered hostel on Nicaragua's Pacific Coast.

The lodge includes a restaurant, swing bar & lounge, surf school, yoga, massage and other activities.

Volunteers are asked to work 35 hours a week, morning, afternoon and evening shifts. Work includes running the bar, serving guests, running volleyball tournaments everyday, running events and games, making sure customers are happy, renting out equipment and overall making Surfing Turtle Lodge the best place to be in Nicaragua. Volunteers mustn't be shy and must be able to deal with big groups.

Our volunteers receive a bed in their own dormitory and three meals a day/free water on working days. They are also allowed to use equipment and participate in activities, like horseback riding, yog... more inside

UPDATED 5/27/17

This is a beautiful, authentic, little hotel run by a lovely Nicaraguan family. The owner Carlos is a key member of the community and is actively involved in helping in many ways (you can help also if you would like!). Here we are all about unity and helping each other for the greater good.

We are located in a very laid back place with tranquil surroundings. Jiquilillo is undiscovered by tourism at the moment and has a really chill vibe. Think - waking up and falling asleep to the crashing of the waves, laying in the hammocks or on the beach with a good book, interacting with the local kids and families, watching the fisherman bring their boats onto shore in the morning (or going out fishing with them!), surfing, kayaking the mangroves, and much more.

At the moment our staff consist of Carlos and his family. His includes his wife Mercedes, who is an amazing cook and a beautiful human, and his children whom are all equally as lovely as well. Additionally we... more inside
