My name is Victor and I have been teaching English to young people from my community for 8 years. I have a small school in downtown Tehuantepec near the market, banks, restaurants, and the tropical forest full of coconuts, bananas, and mangoes. Tehuantepec is located 20 minutes from the ocean beach community, Salina Cruz. I am located only a five minutes taxi ride from the local bus station.

I am looking for one person at a time to come and work with my students, which includes conversing with my students and teaching if you are able to. My students need more practice talking to people who speak fluent and clear english. I ask for five or six hours a day working with my students and in return I offer a place for you to sleep and one meal a day and a tour around the city to show you my local culture. You can stay for a minimum one week and a maximum of two weeks, but we can make a deal if it works out and you want to stay longer.
note; at the moment im just receiving couples ... more inside

I have a small non commercial organic farm in the state of Yucatan by the Gulf of Mexico near the fishing village of San Felipe. Having a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering I developed many ways to be self sufficient, from highly efficient 12 volt electrical devices to solectric cookers and a extremely efficient wood burning stove made from a galvanized bucket. The house is highly efficient in power consumption and only needs two 50 watt solar panels and one $80.00 lead acid car battery that lasts me 3 years. I mostly cook electricly with an insulated rice cooker or in a thermos bottle. At "Rancho Santa Maria" you can learn how to live in a civilized way on just a few dollars a day. I will show you how to mostly live off the Sun and how I build a concrete house for about the price of a car using my invention "Horsy". Let me also show you how to grow organic food, how to control weeds without chemicals, naturally fertilize the irrigation water and make almost any crop drou... more inside
