Hi there !
I am looking for a very special, responsible, creative, energetic volunteer to help me care for my 15 year old son (pictured right) who suffers from mental health problems.
He was diagnosed with schizophrenia about a year ago and as he is no longer in school I need someone who can help me to keep him occupied with art, sports, music, learning languages and any other activities you might be able to bring to our family!
He is not scary, dangerous or out of control, he is just a normal kid who is sick sometimes and stable most of the time with a secure routine and medication.
As well as keeping him occupied he also just needs to be accepted by people outside of the immediate family. In order to feel part of society and to feel "normal" he needs people other than his parents and brother to hang out with, I hope you can be one of those people.
Something else you might be able to help us with is in accessing international support by helping us with our English and tr... more inside

We are a a small non-profit organization located in the low income district of La Esperanza in Trujillo, Peru our mission is to improve the quality of children's life trough education and help dogs from the streets. Currently we have two projects running. the dogshelter and teaching english program.

TEACHING ENGLISH PROGRAM

Because public education in Peru significantly lacks funding, and the majority of the community cannot afford private schooling, the members of our community have very few opportunities for education. Thus, children are born into poverty and few are ever able to rise up and become empowered. Recognizing that many members of La Esperanza are born into this type of poverty and have few job opportunities, our organization's founders decided to broaden the horizons of our friends and neighbors through providing education.

There is no greater freedom than knowledge. This belief defines the philosophy at our organization which offers English classes complete... more inside

Quillabamba is called "the summer eternal city". We have sunshine most of the year, so if you love nature you will have the opportunity to travel in your free time around this beautiful part of Peru. We are sure you will enjoy your stay in this tropical place.

Here is a link to the highlights that Quillabamba has to offer: http://www.aboutcusco.com/en/towns/quillabamba/

I run a private English school in Quillabamba, Cusco. This is an institution that where our main goal is to provide English skills, since there are no English schools in the area. We are located 3 hours from Machupicchu and 4 hours from Cusco. The future economy of Quillabamba will incorporate tourism, fresh fruit and vegetables, chocolate and of course coffee.

I strongly believe that language skills help to provide better opportunities in people lives. We are looking for volunteers who would like to stay at least 1 month and we would love to have candidates who will stay longer.

This is a youth soccer academy, here in Huanchaco beach, Peru, for boys aged 7 to 16. The main goal of the club is to develop and place young talents on the U17 Peru National Team. The players are selected for their talent to form an elite team. The long-term plan is to help develop the players so that they can become professional players and play at the highest level. As well as focusing on technical development, we place great emphasis on inculcating them with positive values. We believe that being a good person is as important as being a good soccer player and that these skills can help them overcome the situations that they are often presented with. This is one of the major reasons why we are seeking volunteers. By creating a positive environment, our players can thrive. The success of this approach can be seen by the fact that the majority of our first generation of players (1998/99) are now playing at both the national and international level.

The academy is located in Hua... more inside

The project is a self-financed initiative that was born in March 2013 as a pilot in the annex of San Jose De Challaca, a small rural community in the department of Huancavelica about 4 hours from the city of Ica. A project full of dreams and a beautiful way to go.

Given the need for lack of intervention of organizations that help the development of these communities with high poverty rate, problems of family violence, alcoholism and the concentration of NGOs in the capital, in departments such as Cuzco, and the Amazon of our country, also the lack of intervention by local governments and after having touched many doors decide to do something on their own and believing in solidarity as a way of life

From 2013 to date it has been growing with many difficulties, but it has also been a path of much learning and the family has been growing with project coordinators, communities and volunteers. Now the project extends to the city of Ica where there are many people who have migrated ... more inside
