A simple life with high thoughts

We are a community composed by people of different ages who live a holistic life, we respect and live in harmony with the environment, in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere in order to reconnect with the creation and its origins through love, service and devotion.

We practice Bhakti Yoga, we value work as an opportunity to serve people and as an offer to supreme love. Our heart is full of love, compassion, tolerance and humility. By cooking, dancing, taking care of the earth, singing mantras and generating new alternatives we live in harmony with our environment. We are doing permaculture to meliorate the development of the community as well as the environment.

Greetings! I welcome you to my home and small organic business, a cafe where we serve delicious vegan and vegetarian foods. After nearly 15 years living in the jungle, close to nature and starting my own organic farm, I have moved into the charming town of Samaipata, Bolivia to start the cafe. It is located at the convergence of the Amazonian lowlands and the Andean Altiplano and is a very special place.

Here ate the cafe, we offer delicious vegan and vegetarian foods and all hand-crafted products made with love and a close connection to the earth. We are affiliated with other like-minded farms and artisans of healthy foods and products and sell their items in the cafe.

I live in harmony and integrity with my environment and invite you to share time with me, learning how to prepare wonderful food both in flavor and in health. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!

I am a sixty-six year old woman who lives alone with 4 dogs. Since 4 years I’m living in a house on a land of 1/2 hectare. I have a small vegetable garden, papayas, chirimoyas, maracuyas and acerolas. The house is finished, but some little thinks like painting, repairing or improving things always need to be done. So any handiness in that is always welcome, too.

The things I grow, I go and sell from house to house by bicycle in the village . Besides some vegetables and fruits, in the afternoon I also sell yoghurt, ice-cream, jams and cakes that I make myself.

Every Thursday afternoon, there is a ‘Rincon de lectura’ (Mini library) I’ve been able to gather a small library and educational board games. During the Rincon I’ll read stories to the children (age 6-12), teach them some basic English and play games with them. The children can borrow books to take home. Volunteers who are motivated to help here are very welcome.

I’m looking for volunteers that would help also wit... more inside

We're a Dutch migrated family, living on a piece of land on a hillslope, little bit outside of Tarija. Tarija, in southern Bolivia, has a nice climate, laid back people and know for it's wines. We have still quite a piece of land of no use that can be improved.

We offer you a choice of tasks that can be done, depending on your length of stay, capabilities and interests. For the longer stayers (at least a week), we can offer complete new “projects” which you can start and finish, so you can go on travelling with a lot of satisfaction, as we will be also. To list a few (some will also depend on our financial situation to buy materials):
- Clearing and fencing of a piece of land that we bought some 5 km further
- Terracing the hillslope back of our house to prepare it for agricultural production
- Building a new greenhouse
- Improving all electricity in and around our house, installing exterior lightning
- Repainting our house
- Catch a bee colony and start up honey production... more inside

We took our first steps in January 2012 acquiring a plot of 124 ac. which we named "Freedom"; a space that will be used as diagnostic observation center and wildlife rehabilitation area.

"Freedom" is located on the left bank of the Beni River between the Beni and La Paz Departments in the Bolivian Amazon. It is flanked by two important protected areas, the Madidi National Park and the Biosphere Reserve and Communal Lands “Pilón Lajas”, one of the areas with the greatest biodiversity of the planet. In addition, hosts territories of indigenous ethnic groups (mean, ese’ejja, chimane and moseten) that strive to maintain and safeguard their cultural roots.

At this early stage the contribution of volunteerism is focused on cleaning the areas that will house future buildings, conservation boundaries and trails, preparation of bio-vegetable garden, the orchard maintenance (one of the few of income sources) and operations and care needed to ensure the facilities continue to function pr... more inside

Mollesnejta - Research Institute of Conservation Practices in Andean Agriculture is a farm where we experiment with permaculture and agroforestry in the Andes to demonstrate alternatives to conventional agronomic production. We are producing without any agrochemicals, we do soil restoring (Terra Preta, Shipped wood) and water retention. In the last 16 years we have become almost a paradise producing fruits and vegetables, all in high-diversity-agroforestry systems. We want to show our results and we want to share our knowledge with interested people who are willing to help and even to create with us more things which demonstrate that a living in harmony with nature is possible (solar-oven, solar-warmth, solar-energy etc). The animals we have are checked for their suitability in agroforestry systems: dogs, cats, donkeys, lamas, geese, chicken).
In 2017 we have much dried wood from Pinus radiata, so we are looking for someone who is carpenter/joiner to build/make some furniture (noth... more inside

Our project's goal is to work together, constructing an alternative way of life, different from that of our current consumerist society. We strive to create a more harmonious relationship with our environment, working the land in an organic way, rearing animals as naturally as possible, recycling and reusing, looking for new modern and healthy technologies that we can adapt to the field.
To finance our project we host guests as a kind of rural tourism, tourists with who we share some of our activities. We also plan to implement an alternative education program for children.
To make real that dream we need people to help us to do it. People with knowledge about bio-construction, permaculture, renewable energies, organic agriculture, carpentry, and cooking. Also, we are just looking for people with similar wishes, who want to teach and to learn how to live in a more healthy and sustainable way.

We offer an independent room (single, twin or double). We also have a camping area nea... more inside
