We live on our Hostel in quiet beach town with nice people and good surf.
La Paloma is 3 hours from the capital Montevideo so there is excellent sea fishing.
If you work well we ask for 4 hours help... BUT slow workers must expect to work longer to complete a REASONABLE days work.
During low season the tasks we will really appreciate help with are: tidying beds, collecting firewood, some general housework.
We like you to come for a week to ten days. You must share room with other custormers
Accommodation is available in the hostel - in the 6 beds room with shared bathroom.
This is a lifestyle hostel - so do be aware - the work is easy and you can share your free time with people from difrent cultures and use our bikes-

Hello, my name is Niek, Im dutch. After being longtime a helpXhost as well as a Wwoof-host in France, I changed my life and place for a nice property on the shores of Uruguay's largest river, where it is larger then 5 till 20 kms, with its own nice beach (for nice swims and sunbaths), nice trees, grassy slopes and my own eucaliptus-forest. Im working on a project for selling parcels of my property and to build houses. Work to be done is helping me with planting, maintaining the (little) farm of trees and shrubs, watering, cleaning of the beach, cutting trees, cutting grass, painting and many other small and bigger things to do. My location is 5kms away from Fray Bentos, there is no bus but IŽll go often to the village. Regular busservice between Montevideo and Fray Bentos. At 2 kms is a popular beach resort with in summer music, lots of people and shops. The Uruguayen people are nice and friendly, only few people speak English. Myself, Im learning to speak Spanish. Hope you will...

This is an Eco Hostel catering mainly for Uruguayan, Argentinian & Brazilian guests, however we have many other international visitors. We are situated about 500m from the beautiful beach of Punta Rubia which joins with La Pedrera beach. The walk to the beach passes some wonderful natural scenery & the bird life is prolific. There are huge sand dunes & big surfing waves. The town of la Pedrera has good night life, shops & bus depot.
I need people who can help me in the grounds with keeping the grass cut, weeding. I would like someone who can help with making or maintaining a vegetable garden. Also some painting. Some carpentry would be handy & just general handyman stuff.
Come & enjoy our beautiful slice of paradise on the Eastern Atlantic coast of Uruguay!!
We are about 3+ hours from Montevideo on the bus.

You can see, the old house is on the beach!
The garden is form by sand dunes :-) so it moves with the wind...
Spring time (oct to dec) after the ocean mades it's little winter work, again and again... who talked about Sisyphu's works?... we need to paint the shutters and doors and irons... take off all the sand that sometimes block some windows or the main entrance door... paint the walls... repair the water pipes... well, a lot of stuff.
After summer (april to june) we try to prepare the house the best we can for the winter (building dry docks for the sand... sometimes we are lucky and the dunes are several meters far away from the walls! :-), protecting the wake areas, etc.
By the way, the water pump (it's an old one, far-west movies style) needs a tune up...
I want six hours a day work, five days a week. Minimal stay: one week. I offer accommodation and three meals a day.
There is a regular daily bus service from Montevideo to Valizas all year round, severa...
