I support and organize holistic, arts, and culture events at my home in El Pinar, Uruguay a pleasant dune paradise near the sea, river, and city (Montevideo). I host a variety of activities including yoga, african dance, music, massages, karate, tesmescal, family consulting, and much more. I am 28 years old and have a 6 year old son, Sahel, who lives with me. This is a unique opportunity for builders to learn how to construct in an environmentally conscious way (design, materials, etc.). We will have a lead architect with 30 years of experience in ecological architecture providing weekly classes and building assistance to the helpers. This is perfect for builders who also wish to enrich their constructions skills by learning the design process from an expert architect. We are Andrew and Flora - a young couple from Scotland and Hungary. We purchased this property in 2017 from Steve, who established the Ecopark seven years ago. We are excited to take on this fantastic project and further the goals of teaching others about organic gardening, sustainability and healthy living. Steve has moved to the USA to work in nature conservancy, but we are pleased to say, for those who have known Steve, that he will continue to visit and help on future projects.

This riverside wonderland lies just south of Aguas Corrientes, Canelones – an hour north of Montevideo by car. This quiet, peaceful and eco-friendly oasis was a botanical reserve and tourist destination in the past.

We have a large organic garden and harvest guayabas, wild berries from the forest. The property has five houses, a salon, a stream, a little lake, a bamboo forest, eucalyptus groves, ancient pines, palms, armadillos, rabbits, foxes, giant lizards, and a seemingly endless variety of bi... more inside

PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE WRITE ME!
I bought a wooden cabin whose construction should be completed. I live in Buenos Aires,
Argentina, but I cross to Uruguay for periods 7-10 days in spring/summer to work in there.
(see below next date).

The cabin have a finished bathroom, hot water, a BBQ, fresh water from line, fridge, microwave.
Jobs to do are to put ground in level, some gardening, to isolate walls/roof with foam panels...
Location is Guazuvirá, a very small village 1hr at East of Montevideo.
There are nice pine forests and the cabin is located 100 mts from a very wide beach.

I will be glad to offer accommodation + breakfast to ONE person in change for 3hs/day help.
You can cook your own meals, or we can share expenses and cook together. There are basic shops
and also there is a bigger town (San Luis) at walking distance by the beach.

I'm a very skillful retired engineer. If you come, surely you'll learn many tricks.
Also I can recommend places to visit in... more inside

Our farm is located just ten minutes north of Colonia del Sacramento, a charming colonial port town on the Rio de la Plata. The previous owner and visionary of this place, a few years back established an almond plantation, the only one of its kind in the whole area. The farm has also several fruit trees including lemon, lime, grapefruit, guava, nispero, membrillo, pitanga, peach, apple and avocado. There is also a small forest (eucalyptus, ligustro, fresno) where we harvest our own wood for winter and basic building purposes. There is a vegetable garden, next to a bigger plot where we are planting corn, squash and garlic. Our animal crew, at the moment has chickens, 5 dogs, 2 cats, 2 and half horses (one is a pony!) and a cow and her calf that will eventually suply our own dairy basics. We also have our own bee hives. Daily tasks range from weeding, planting, harvesting, digging up post holes, watering, fixing up things, basic building projects, feeding the animals, etc, etc. In add... more inside

I'm a 26 year old Uruguayan girl. I work as an English teacher in a school and in a language Institute. I've just moved into my own house and there are a lot of improvements I need to make but I don't have the time to do it alone. I love hosting people from other countries and cultures (if possible). I've always done it through couch surfing and airbnb. I also love travelling, biking, playig football, singing and drinking good beer.I'm looking for someone to host who can help me with the house improvements from 2 to 4 hours a day. It's nothing like heavy work, just like cleaning some ceramics or move some furniture around or paint a wall. Nothing hard or exhaustIng.
Then you're free to go around the city or hang out with me and my friends. It's only until the 23rd of July when a girl from Germany is coming on a student exchange.
The house has 2 bedrooms, a small front yard and a big independent but exclusive back yard with a barbecue and a studio apartment. I also have a washing m... more inside

We are about half an hour from the ocean and fifteen minutes from a pond. There's a small pond close to the house.
We need tenacious people that can help us in a responsible way, cleaning up after work, not leaving tools or debris in the field, cleaning after meals and keeping a certain order. We are always open to suggestions and discussions, but we make the final decisions. There are main rutines that can be repetitious and extremely simple.
Firing up the oven, gathering firewood, sorting trash and compost, picking manure, pine cones and needles, recycling, feeding cats and dogs, horse and chickens, watering vegetables, weeding and keeping kitchen/dining room clean after cooking. etc.
We expect people to get involved in the things that need to be done. Some times there's a lot, some times less.
It's okay to smoke outdoors as long as it doesn't ruin work, it isn't a fire danger and filters are not left on the floor.
We have experimented growing many things with diverse luck. ... more inside

Hey. I am in charge of hostel in Colonia. It is located in a residential neighborhood 2 blocks from the station and the ferry port . Very touristic area.
You can enjoy the old city and the beach. It is a place surrounded by de la plata river and lots of nature. Colonia is 1 hour from the city of Buenos Aires. (by ferry) from here you can travel very easy to Montevideo.
If you work well we ask for 4 hours help... BUT slow workers must expect to work longer to complete a REASONABLE days work.

During low season the tasks we will really appreciate help with are: tidying beds, collecting firewood, some general housework.

We like you to come for a week to ten days. You must share room with other customers

Accommodation is available in the hostel - in the 6 beds room with shared bathroom.

This is a lifestyle hostel - so do be aware - the work is easy and you can share your free time with people from different cultures and use our bikes-
