We have an oceanside villa on N'gor, on the coast of northern Dakar, and run our own permaculture consultancy that does work locally and in the Sahel. We're looking for people to help out with our local work and also help around the house.

Dakar is an amazing spot to explore West Africa from, and a great place for Africa newbies. It's safe, easy and cheap to get around in, and the variety and types of fresh local food available are astounding.

We have a guest bedroom available with an en-suite bathroom. We'd be looking for someone to stay for a week or two -- long enough to complete a short project or two and enjoy the awesome area where we live (hint: there is surfing).

We're looking for:

* Permaculture designers: People who have experience in permaculture design, especially in food systems, earthworks, water harvesting and drylands ecosystems.

* French tutors: We are looking to practice our French, so please be ready to work with us 90 minutes in the morning and 90 ... more inside

Its a small workshop in the village of Medina Thioub near the Lac Rose, Senegal and the housing is comfortable for African standards. Helpers are needed to help organize the production and installation of ropepumps in the area and be willing to participate in all the work.
Meal costs are usually shared by all, if possible.
We're not far from the great polluted city of Dakar but life is easygoing in the village still, and there are many more places to discover inside the country including our organic garden project in the CASAMANCE. There however you should bring your own tent or make a hut of palmleaves or something more sophisticated if you decided to stay and participate in recreating Eden.
Here also, food cost are participated, but strictly vegetarian food is prepared.Welcome.
