We are an essential oil plantation and plant a type of eucalyptus tree to steam distill the leaves for a lemon fragrant oil that is exported. We also grow and produce lemongrass, rose geranium and other minor oils (all organic although not certified) and run an out growers scheme with local communities to buy back biomass. We have a small primary school with 40 children and provide resources and materials. We have a guest house that we are also promoting and 100ha of natural indigenous forest that we are exploring for ecotourism opportunities. We have many wild animals across the plantation and beautiful nature.
We especially welcome hard working people who are particularly good at general maintenance, mechanics and carpentry.

This is a unique community set on the shores of Lake Malawi. We are involved in numerous community projects ourselves; nursery schools, youth club, internet and media centre, womens groups, special needs group, permaculture gardens at surrounding schools, radio group, amongst others and we try and encourage other people to come and volunteer in the community here. Some of these projects are on site and some are in the surrounding area, but Nkhata Bay is a bustly port town, though further away from town is remote and village like. Myself and Alice live on site as well and it has a unique vibe.

We are offering people who can offer something to the lodge itself a chance to come and stay on site and help us with our projects. Things like building, carpentry, gardening, or landscaping, as well as potentially tourism, community development or project management skills are all things that we could find useful. as we are busy plenty of the time we would expect people to be able to ... more inside

We are a company in the north of Malawi producing essential oils (lemon Eucalytpus oil, Rose geranium, lemongrass and citronella oil) in the middle of the beautiful Viphya Forest Reserve.

Our oils are used in a range of products in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, and ultimately in natural insect repellents like Mosiguard Natural, that contain no chemicals whatsoever and are effective for upto 10 hours.

CPL is in one of the most beautiful places imaginable and is very committed to its social development in the north through its activities with charity, Expand.

We are now in the fourth year of operations and its still moving along! By January 2012 we would have planted 600ha of Corymbria citriodora to produce our core product, a lemon fragrant Oil that is exported, refined and used in products such as natural insect repellents.

Our distillation plant is up and running and is capable of distilling 5tons of biomass at any one time making us the biggest in the s... more inside
