Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we will concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help six public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai.

The first semester starts in mid-May until the end of September.

The second semester starts at around the 1st of November and lasts until the end of February.

We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available near the end of May 2018. We are looking for volunteers to teach English only and are available to stay at least eight weeks. We would love to have candidates who will stay for a whole semester or even a year, if possible. Couples are welcome as well.

NOTE: We do not charge volunteers ... more inside

We are urgently looking for helpers all year.
Teach English and travel in Chaingmai and Uthaithani.
P.S.

My name is Fai and I run a small language center and here we teach conversation skills to children that are ages 3-18. We also do lessons with adults. We realize the importance of English and having fun while learning. We are about 15 minutes drive from town so we have no tourists and very few foreigners. The students have no opportunities to use English in conversation so we love for volunteers to come and help them practice speaking out loud with games and activities while learning new material. Generally, the studentsí level of spoken English is beginner or intermediate level. Some of them are developed by volunteers and reach an advanced level..........

Note:
If you are not a native speaker but you have experience in teaching English or are confident that you can teach, you are still very welcome. We can offer guidance on what to teach and how to teach it if you nee... more inside

If everybody makes a difference, the world will be different - Owen Geiger

Our Project is located outside a little village in the northeast of Thailand. Well off the beaten track of tourism we offer an opportunity for everybody to join in a fascinating project where we combine vipassana meditation, yoga, natural building and ecological gardening (especially permaculture) to a system of personal growth and care for nature. We want to show that the path inside and sustainable living can be very lively, joyful and fun. We rock the garden!

Our project is deeply rooted in the Thai community, so you can experience an authentic insight into Thai culture and really be part of it. Our teacher is the Abbot of a Monastery in the nearest city and as such, living mindfully and observing the Buddha's teaching is very much at the heart of this project. We have a deep connection with the village monastery and the Buddhist community and enjoy sharing in ceremonies and festivals together. Each... more inside

Need advices and hands from knowledgeable helpers to start my farm stay.

The garden will have several kinds of fruits mostly, but due to monkeys attacking sometimes, I do not plant any vegetable till I know how to prevent them. Helpers can stay in dorm or tent for work exchange, making or buying your own food. Anyway I try to store something in kitchen for you, but it might not enough. Also there is a local restaurant nearby open 8am-5pm. I have a bicycle for you, but I think you may rent a scooter for sight seeing sometimes. Or you may borrow my scooter when it is available. You should be able to be independent, stay quiet closed to nature and find insight of youself.

You may work about 3-4 hours a day in your convinient time, besides it is your free time. The work is to build , coat oil, watering trees, cutting weeds and to shape the farm with DIY. So far I stay in another place about 10 km away and have time in late afternoon, after my job, to work in the farm ,... more inside

The idea first came to two friends. Take privately owned land that was meant for commercial use, and return it to nature, while at the same time making it financially viable to do so, and support a team of people who live on site. Basically protecting nature, while yet ensuring financial sustainability. The result was the OurLand Nature Reserve, thailands first privately owned nature reserve, which was setup in late 2015. Currently a small 4 member team lives on site full time, along with volunteers who come stay for short periods.

The reserve covers an area of about 15 acres and is the last wildlife corridoor in the lower half of the Salakphra Wildlife Sanctuary (Kanchanaburi). Located next to an abandoned housing project, the area serves as a corridoor between the government owned wildlife sanctuary and a major river, that animals drink out of at night. Human Elephant Conflict in the area is one of the major issues that OurLand works with local villagers, as areas around ... more inside
