The idea first came to a group of friends. Take privately owned land that was meant for commercial use, and return it to nature, while at the same time making it financially viable to do so, and support a team of people who live on site. Basically protecting nature, while yet ensuring financial sustainability. The result was the OurLand Nature Reserve, thailands first privately owned nature reserve, which was setup in late 2015. Currently a 5 member team lives on site full time.

The reserve covers an area of about 25 acres and is the last wildlife corridoor in the lower half of the Salakphra Wildlife Sanctuary (Kanchanaburi). Located next to an abandoned housing project, the area serves as a corridoor between the government owned wildlife sanctuary and a major river, that animals drink out of at night. Human Elephant Conflict in the area is one of the major issues that OurLand works with local villagers, as areas around the corridoor are full of sugarcane and tapioca farms and ... more inside

My name is Tamara. I am an Australian teacher living in Songkhla, Thailand. I started a rescue centre in 2012. My passion and mission is to vaccinate, sterilize, medicate, feed, adopt and love as many street dogs as possible. I have 12 dogs in my home and 37 dogs at one foster home and 15 at another foster home. Once the dogs are healed and healthy, I strive to find forever families for them. I also care for around 50 dogs on the streets, providing food and medical treatments.

The rescue is in a massive house with garden and the accommodation is at the rescue.

Three years ago, I made the big decision that my heart had been telling me to do for years. I sold or gave away most of my belongings, rented my house out, took leave from my teaching job and moved back to Thailand.

I know I can't save every dog, but for every dog I save, that is one dog that is better off. My belief is one dog at a time.

I hope you can help me help them.

An organic homestead set on the edge of the forest and river. Our goal is production of the majority of our food supply. We are electricity free (one solar panel that can usually charge phones when it is not cloudy). When the sun goes down we have only candles. We recommend you have a headlamp or flashlight and a battery pack if you use your phone a lot. Drinking is allowed but no partying. We want to share a relaxing atmosphere, best for people who want to be outside the city. We have fruit trees, vegetable garden, chickens and ducks. It is about twenty minutes by motorbike into the city. Our road is dirt (about 1km) so when it rains (it is rainy season now) it can be tough to drive. Only initial transportation is offered. There is a small village about ten minutes walking that has a store with food staples, drinks, treats etc.
We are offering a private house with own kitchen and bathroom, but no food or meals (to be counted on but will eat together sometimes), in exchange for... more inside

Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we will concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At the present we aim to help six public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai.

The first semester starts in mid-May until the end of September.

The second semester starts at around the 1st of November and lasts until end of February.

We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available near the beginning of November 2017. We are looking for volunteer English teachers who would stay at least eight weeks. We would love to have candidates who will stay for a whole semester or even a year, if possible. Couples are welcome too.

We provide the volunteers lodging and meals i... more inside

We are a social hostel that hosts nightly activities and that's where we could use your help!

We need helpers to take people out at night to do many things like pub crawls, bowl, watch Thai boxing, barbeque, and more :) For free of course!

In exchange for free activities and accommodation in a shared fan room with 2 other volunteers we ask that you help make beds for around 1/1.5 hrs in the morning and then lead the activities in the evening.. the role best suits someone who likes to drink, but as there are 2 other volunteers it doesn't have to be every night.

We offer at cost beers and at cost pricing for tours if you want to go see elephants, take a cooking class or do any other activities and etc.

While we don't offer food you eat for free on bbq nights and on other nights that we offer food, and we have a small kitchen you can feel free to use.

If you think you will like to work with us please let us know!

Cheers & Safe Travels!

My name is Fai and I run a small language center named Brainstorm and here we teach conversation skills to children that are ages 3-18 years old and adults. We realize the importance of English and having fun while learning. According to the area located in downtown, we have no tourists and very few foreigners.
