Our organization is a fully registered Cambodian NGO based in Siem Reap with connections all over Cambodia. Siem Reap is the home to Angkor Wat a world heritage site and other amazing temple complexes. Our primary concern is to care for young destitute children and orphans and provide them with free Khymer education and English language skills. We are also active in the educational sector with other local charitable groups, temples and the state who have established schools to help the poor and needy.

We are in need of voluntary staff to help us achieve our aims, one of which is to relocate our orphanage to the east side of Angkor Wat.in the long term. At the moment, we need teacher to teach languages at a small rural school in Prey Chor Village Kampong Chan Province

Help
You will be helping the students practice english by making conversations with the students and occasionally by leading classes. Your help would also be appreciated in other areas such as: business, marketing, development of the school grounds and of course our tours.
For the past one year, IFLS has been supported by volunteers, but this will by November 2016. This is why IFLS launched the bicycles. These can replace some of the lost income, meaning that IFLS is one step closer to becoming self-sufficient.
We understand that backpackers are often on limited budgets and as such, donations from volunteers are appreciated but not expected. As a volunteer, if you do not wish to donate money, you may prefer to consider any of the following items:
• School stationery
• Exercise books (blank)
• Materials for art projects
• Picture books
• Short and easy children’s books
• English workbooks (all levels)
• Materials for the teachers
• Board markers
Non-volunteers can help to... more inside

This is a registered charity based in the capital city of Cambodia, Phnom Penh and was setup by expats and run by Khmer staff and volunteers. We give support to the very poor or homeless Khmer people that have no land. Our prime objectives are health, education/vocational training and when necessary family aid, to keep the family living together with their children.

Please join us if you are looking for something rewarding to do whilst in Cambodia and would like to help us with kindergarten, teaching assistance or safe water deliveries to the rural villages we support. Perhaps help with games or serving meals to the children or teaching English or computers.

At our teaching centre, we have about 16 Windows PC computers/laptops, a projector and wifi. We have a few Raspberry Pi educational mini computers. We also have a few Android tablets and need someone to research and download more educational free apps.

We have recently started beekeeping and training local people this... more inside

Our school a non-governmental initiative founded by Mr. Chheun Rith and sponsored by Project Cambodia; an Australian organisation founded by Leon Pope. Together we utilise humanity and cultural curiosity in everyday travellers, and offer them a local insight in exchange for their time two hours per day to teach English to our students. Volunteers wishing to spend more time teaching, we are happy to make arrangements with the public school, to see where you’re able to assist. No experience is required, just passion and enthusiasm!

Mr. Rith has opened his home located in Ouressey Village outside Kratie Town, to support local children to learn English, which is not taught in the public school curriculum.

Our mission is to support the young community by teaching English, which is vastly becoming important throughout Cambodia. Learning from volunteers from all over the world gives the children a comprehensive understanding of the English language from a multitude of perspectives. ... more inside

In the 1970s, Cambodia’s brutal Khmer Rogue regime contributed to the mass extermination of two million people including intellectuals, thereby completely destroying education in the country. The country was left with nothing. Over time, Cambodia has been slowly developing again. Presently, it seems everything is back to normal, and a large number of schools have opened and continue to open.

Unfortunately, many of them do not provide appropriate progression to gain a better start in life for certain children. Problems mainly involve all disabled children, such as children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). These children are very sensitive, shy, and struggle in other areas, especially the ability to communicate and relate to others. However, they also have a unique set of skills, so they sometimes test in the average or above average range.

Additionally, children with intellectual disabilities have less ability than normal children of their age and often struggle in a regula... more inside

We are located in beautiful Saracen Bay, on Koh Rong Samloem island. Our business is renting bungalows to tourists, running a bar and we plan on opening a restaurant in a month or so.

My wife and I are working with both Khmers and western people, making our place lively and mixing with a lot of interesting people. It's never boring!

We are currently looking for various kinds of help:

* bartendering. We have quite an extensive cocktail menu which is very popular with our customers and we also sell fruit shakes and juices.

* cooking. Cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner for a staff of around 12 people

* gardening/landscaping. We have gardens around the bar and bungalows that need maintenance

But don't be shy and speak to us about any special talent you have that could be useful to us!

You will have the opportunity to live and explore our beautiful island.

And you'll live in the middle of a community, in this special atmosphere the island has. Make friends wi... more inside
