Hello everyone...
I'm Madi from Luwu, South Sulawesi Indonesia. I am an English teacher in a local school. Why I'm here now... I love teaching and my goal is to help people in my local area be able to speak English. I am also an organic farmer, and doing some recycling that's way I need your help to share what you can. I'm a big believer in "think globally, act locally".
I'm looking for volunteers excited to help local people learning English in my local students to improve their language skills.
it's about being a partner in speaking practice.
I can offer:
accommodation in a private traditional house next to my home sharing meals, i would show you traditional market of Belopa and would be nice to cook together while studying traditional food of Indonesia. I would also like to invite you to visit government schools in the mornings, where you can help me by talking with students there and promoting my after-school English program.
You can learn some of the local languages.... more inside

I run private English school for children aged between 10 and 19 years old in a small city in West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities in their lives.

I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to come assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and give them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom.

All the students are very welcoming and curious about my visitors and I am certain that you will have a great experience while interacting with them. You can expect answering all their curious questions, pose for pictures and be invited for lunches, snacks and dinners.

Classes in my school run from 2pm to 6pm and mostly consist of two lessons/classrooms per day. I would also like ... more inside

I just started a really budget English course for everyone (the rich and especially the poor) at my home in Sungai Penuh, Jambi, Indonesia. It's about 6 hours from Padang, West Sumatera. My mission is to make the students feel free of worrying about the cost because my course's cost is very cheap. We want to focus on speaking class since we realize that in Indonesia, there are a lot of people who good at Grammar but can't speak English at all! That's why we want to build their confidence first instead of learning too much grammar without any bravery to speak up. We build a class of fun, natural and 'hommy' to make students not afraid of learning anymore. We really need your help, volunteers from all over the world! In exchange, we will provide you foods (breakfast, lunch, dinner and also some local's snacks), my home to stay, and bring you to see the beauty of Kerinci, Jambi (you can google it). Kerinci is soooo beautiful with many places to visit such as Kerinci Lake, tea plantat... more inside

The Volunteer in Java Programme

The Volunteer In Java Programme was created in 2010 by a small group of English teachers who have been working for several years alongside Native Speakers. The reason that we created this programme is to help the local students and give them the opportunity to learn English with English speaking-people. Cianjur is a non-touristy place with few travellers, so meeting english-speaking people is particularly valued here.
In 2013, The Volunteer in Java Programme was recommended by The Lonely Planet Guide Book. The programme was founded by five locals; the team are enthusiastic and passionate about improving the local student’s English.
The team:
Irwan Kumis, who is fluent in English, has been teaching primary school English for 9 years, as well as working for several years as a guide for Western travellers. He previously worked for a German NGO, Forder-und Interessengemeinschaft, as a volunteer in post-Tsunami Reconstruction and Development on Sab... more inside

Farmer's Yard is a small community hostel located in the perimeters of Canggu on the south-western coast of the island Bali.
Bali is in need of a shift from the careless tourism that has been dominating the island for the last decades and our intention is to bring back the sense of responsibility among travelers and the local community.

I will be honest with you,
We are nothing like a typical Hostel, ours is not a business model but more of an excuse to bring travellers to visit the real side of Bali.
We farm using urban permaculture principals and strive to provide a safe base to bridge the locals to the westerners, work alongside communities by supporting their projects and inform travellers about the true culture of this island.

This is a small but precious start..

The exchange is available for a maximum of three people at the same time.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR COMMITTED AND HELPFUL VOLUNTEERS :)

• Electricians, Plumbers.

• Permaculture (organic, sustainable ... more inside
