We farm organically, much of it with horses and live sort of self-sufficient lifestyle in off grid home. Presently interested in moving toward permaculture concepts.

Farm/music clip on youtube is good introduction, see below or youtube link above. It is few years old, so family changing. Children growing /going and we lost my wife in 2010, so now only two children still on the farm. We are too short handed to continue as normal, so are scaling down, but trying 'work exchange' programs to have some extra hands around.

Located in beautiful central Kentucky, one hour north of music city USA (Nashville, TN). Lots of lakes, rivers and world's largest cave system. Mammoth Cave National Park. Also Great Smoky Mountain National Park, which is America most visited Park and is an easy drive. Check them both out on line.

We're not commercially farming now, just growing and preserving much of our own food and for our animals. We eat pretty healthy. Though we are not vegetarians, we ... more inside

Cintamani Dhama, Sanskrit for "Abode of Wish-Fulfilling Gems", is a 250 Acre Spiritual-Farm-Community. Located an hour South of Lexington, Kentucky, it is surrounded by gorgeous mountains being placed in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Our goal is not only to live a pure simple life, close to Mother Nature, but at the same time, attain the goal of human life, to become fully self-realized through the ancient science of Bhakti-Yoga.
At the farm, there is a spring-fed creek running throughout the entirety of the farm. There are multiple pure mountain springs that feed the houses on the property. We just built one "multiple tiered" pond near the garden and another one elsewhere on the property. We tend a currently 3/4 acre organic garden.
We are in the process of planting a fruit tree orchard as well as an "antique rose garden".
We have nine cows (two milking cows, one female calf, and six oxen). We protect cows, and do not kill them, as they are not only considered sacred but a... more inside

We are located in the Daniel Boone forest on the Cumberland platue in Kentucky. We are an all natural organic living community and Hardwood tree farm with both on and off grid facilities. Our tree farm resides on 20 acres of rocky hillside with clean river frontage and surrounded by hardwood forests and grazing angus. We are twenty miles from the town of Monticello, Ky where all shopping needs can be met.
Helping with the stewardship of our forest requires brush clearing, tree selection and harvest of dead timber. Other tasks include soil preparation, organic gardening and animal husbandry.
Our suggested length of stay would be a minimum of 2 weeks or preferably for a season.

Non-ag activities at our farm include running a hardwood arts studio, various construction projects, off-grid living, solar energy, water farming, gravel road maintenance and resource management.

Our expectations would be at the least 2 hours of daily chores associated with off-grid living plus 28 hou... more inside

Middle aged couple looking for someone to help on small farm (4 acres) in a small Amish community (we are not Amish) way out in the country. We would like help with our small organic garden, animals, (2 horses, two donkeys, three dogs 1 cat), and general chores around the farm and house. Plenty of free time! Average 10-12 work hours weekly. It is a very, very, quiet community. Would prefer someone who has experience living a quiet life. Older person fine as long as able to do the work. Beautiful large room in our farmhouse with a shared bathroom on first floor (our bedrooms are on the second floor. Television and cable in room, satellite internet. Some meals included. Could work out to be longer term.

My farm is nestled in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of southeast Kentucky. I live on a forested mountain with a pond, hiking opportunities, and fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. I have approximately one acre where I grow a wide variety of organic vegetables. I also maintain an herb garden and take advantage of any wild edible plants or fruit growing on the mountain. I am in the process of grafting old heritage varieties of apples and pears that do well without any spraying and hope to be planting blueberry bushes spring, 2013. I have a large asparagus bed that will be 3 years old this coming spring. In 2010 I became Certified Naturally Grown. I am totally committed to running my farm using organic, sustainable methods as well as incorporating biodynamic and permaculture methods. I sell produce at a farmers market in Tennessee, as well as a local market in Kentucky. I also sell to a small CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) consisting of local members. Experienced sailing couple with a baby on the way seeking long-term crew/aupair. Due to the bun in the oven we have sold our old boat and are in the process of designing a custom 33ft center cockpit (two seperate aft cabins) gaff cutter ketch which will be built in clinker ply. Expected launch time of spring 2014. The right person will be good with kids, generally compotent, and able to learn. Would like to find someone now who can help with the baby and building then stay for the long-term as crew once we launch. Unpaid position but all expenses covered and no contribution required.

Great opportunity for someone interested in getting their hands into building a boat and then setting to sea and building a lot of miles under the tutelage of Yachtmaster Ocean.

I am located in a beautiful historic home in the Highlands of Louisville, KY. This is a fun urban neighborhood and you can walk to everything you might need. Childcare experience is preferred. I need someone to look after my 3 year-old child an average of 2-3 nights a week. This will involve playing for about 2 hours then putting him to bed. You will also be asked to help out with cooking and other household stuff once in a while. In return you will get your own bedroom and whatever meals we cook at home.
