CURRENT NEWS:
Due to a cancellation we have a place for one or two helpers from Wednesday the 27th of June.

We will do the usual winter cleanups and weeding where we harvested the summer crops, prepare some beds for winter vegetables, do some firewood (which keeps you warm twice!), repairs to fences, some tree planting etc. We have some indoor work as well if it rains and a nice wood fire in the house to keep you warm. Please read our complete profile before applying and see if you think you would like it here.

GENERAL:
Our property is situated on a hill overlooking the sea, with many valleys with little creeks and small waterfalls, ponds, lots of beautiful bush and a few paddocks for our animals & gardens and orchards growing many unusual fruit and vegetables.
We can offer lots of practical experience & new skills to interested helpers. There are goats, miniature cows, kune-kune pigs and chickens which entertain us so much that we do NOT have tv or video and no wifi.

Hello! I'm an easy going kiwi guy looking for some help with my property. Its right beside the beach and I surf when its good. I would prefer someone with building or painting or with practical hands on experience. I work full time as an art teacher. You will have your own private room. There is a big supermarket 10 mins drive from the house. You can walk to the beach from my place. Any questions feel free to ask! :)
Thanks!
Also I eat meat and vegetables.

I would like help for 4 hours per day in exchange for accommodation and 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner...sometimes even desert!) We can also surf together.

NOTE # Please provide your own alcohol

Lets have a fun cultural exchange! The surf has been great!

*Short term helpers preferred*

Kia ora! We are a happy young family of 4 living in the small coastal village of Ngunguru - gateway to the magical Tutukaka Coast.

Our home is small and simple, but has lots of sunshine, laughter and yummy vegetarian food. David is a musical papa who manages a large community garden project in Whangarei; Miriam is a stay-at-home mama and vege-gardener extraordinaire; Nina (6) and Eloise (1) are our fun-loving beach babes.

We are looking to host travelers who genuinely enjoy being around small children and who possess a happy, adaptable, relaxed & positive outlook. As we have girls, we'd prefer female helpers :) We need help with childcare and general around-the-home duties, allowing Miriam to work on her home-based business.

We love having international visitors stay with us, and we are happy to show you around our beautiful coast. We have a bike and surfboard you can use, plus a kayak for cruising on the river. Accommodation is in a litt... more inside

Help needed straightaway!

We are looking for a kind, reliable, fun-loving person or couple to live with us on a lovely lifestyle block near Whangarei. We are a blended family with six charming children ranging in age from 1 to 17 years old. Our ten-year old son is special needs (developmental delay and epilepsy.) His language is primitive, but he is a cute and affectionate child.

At this time of year, we mostly need help with gardening. We run two businesses with long hours, so you must be relatively independent and happy to work on your own.

And there is always a big family dinner! We have lots of farm animals (goats, chickens, alpacas and more!) and we love to eat and cook.

Your accommodation is a private sleepout.

This is a temporary position suitable for travellers. Please be prepared to stay a minimum of 1 week.

Want to experience a slice of heaven? We are lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful spots in the world (well we think so anyway!) and we would love a bit of help.
We are a family of 4. The 7ha property, the sheep, cows, pigs, chickens and dog keep us busy but we always ensure we find the time to enjoy all that this amazing location has to offer.
We live right on the waters edge on the beautiful Taiharuru Estuary 25 minutes from Whangarei. With our own private beach at the bottom of the garden we enjoy sailing, kayaks, fishing and other water activities. The area boasts some great surf beaches and walks.
We need a bit of help with a variety of jobs including gardening, fencing, pruning, building a vegetable garden, looking after the animals, cooking and cleaning and generally just helping out. Some of the work will be hard so you will need to be physically fit and prepared to put in the effort.
Whilst you will have access to the house, the accommodation is a cabin on... more inside

We are an extended family in 2 houses on 17 acres. We currently have 9 sheep, 6 calves and a collection of chickens. We have quite a large vege garden. Whangarei is only 10 minutes away by car.
We would like mainly with the garden. There are 2 children, Jesse age 3 years and Elijah age 9 (disabled) and there may be some household tasks. Our expectation is that you would fit in with what needs to be done each day for approximately 4 hours. We would love to host a willing worker and include you in family activities. Your own car would be helpful but we are in and out into town often so you will be able to get rides. The photos show the sleepout we have for helpx. Please no late sleepers!!

Welcome! My name is Robert

I am hoping to find helpers to share and help create my home and garden.

I live in an old home in a quiet setting near the ocean, 7km to Waipu centre, which is 140km north of Auckland and 40km south of Whangarei.

I am very open-minded and respect all other diverse cultures and ways of life.

A huge backyard, with rural views, and lots of native bird life. 6 acres... Lots of space.
I enjoy the natural surroundings and "relish" in the garden.
Have a small vege patch and an abundance of fruit trees so the kitchen can be a little chaotic as fruit ripens. My best mate is Charlie (my dog).
I may not always have time to show you around, as I am usually busy working but you will enjoy the area's natural beauty anyways.
There are wonderful beaches nearby ... I can sometimes give you a lift to town or the beach. The home is idyllically secluded so the space is as free as you want it to be. Nearby ... swimming, surfing, bushwalking, tramping, c... more inside
