Kia ora
Warm greetings!

We need a little help! We live in a piece of paradise overlooking the ocean at Waipu Cove. It's a humble little place, with electricity, an outdoor kitchen and composting toilet. The beach and the caves are not faraway, the cafes and the walks are great.

We have planted a lot of trees and summer has come upon us and we need to do some weeding. If you don't mind a simple life and some physical work come. We have sea kayaks and learner surfboards. Nightlife is sitting under the stars around the fire.We are currently building so Gary and Cole are on site during the day and Dougy is up 3 days a week so you have your choice of solitude or company! And I come at the weekends.

If we are not there we will buy food for you but just won't be there to cook it.

Us!
We are a creative couple in our 50s. I am an arts educator and Dougy restores houses and is a muso. We love to travel, surf and hanging out on our piece of land where we are developing a permacult... more inside

We are a easy going couple in our thirties who have a 16 acre farm that we brought nearly four years ago. As we now have a 2 year old gorgeous wee girl and my partner works long hours we could really do with some help on the farm to continue building our dream.
A friend of ours also lives here in his shack and is currently building a tiny house for himself on the property. We also have a couple of caravans and a cabin onsite.
We started on our property with only a caravan and a bare block. We now have built a shack around our caravan and have some other infrastructure in place like large chook coups, gardens, compost toilet and compost bins, dirt bike track, woodshed, yards and more.
We all follow similar ideas for the farm trying to maintain a chemical, spray free paradise for us, our child and family.
We would one day like to be in a position to supply all our friends and family with spray free produce and organic meat etc to make sure everyone has health and well bein... more inside

Want to experience a slice of heaven? We are lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful spots in the world (well we think so anyway!) and we would love a bit of help.
We are a family of 4. The 7ha property, the sheep, cows, pigs, chickens and dog keep us busy but we always ensure we find the time to enjoy all that this amazing location has to offer.
We live right on the waters edge on the beautiful Taiharuru Estuary 25 minutes from Whangarei. With our own private beach at the bottom of the garden we enjoy sailing, kayaks, fishing and other water activities. The area boasts some great surf beaches and walks.
We need a bit of help with a variety of jobs including gardening, fencing, pruning, building a vegetable garden, looking after the animals, cooking and cleaning and generally just helping out. Some of the work will be hard so you will need to be physically fit and prepared to put in the effort.
Whilst you will have access to the house, the accommodation is a cabin o... more inside

Do you want to help for a few days near Whangarei?

We are looking for a non-smoking couple, with your own transport, wanting to stay for a few days to help (at this time, mainly spreading fertilisers, planting of seedlings and other gardening help). Please apply by email link, telling us about your skills.

Our horticultural property is about 20km from Whangarei, with no public transport available. For this reason you will require your own transport.

A little over 2 hours drive from Auckland City, Whangarei area has much to offer - beautiful walks, beaches, glow worm caves, waterfalls, arts and crafts, clock museum, Packard museum, modern library, modern swimming complex, cafes, information centres. There are limited shopping opportunities - a small CBD, several supermarkets, and smaller shopping areas throughout the region.

We offer generous free time to explore Whangarei and surrounding areas, therefore having your own transport is advantageous. The Bay of Island... more inside

We are a busy family of 5 with an additional 2 people also living in a self contained flat - Nana and Poppa.
3 children aged between 7 - 13 a small dog and a boat.

We are hoping that in exchange for a place to stay and sharing dinner with us that you will help out with gardening work around the property. Stays can be from 1-2 nights up to a few weeks depending on visitors requests. Gardening work would involve pruning flax and weeding gardens, trimming small trees and hedges. This isn't difficult work and most capable people could perform these tasks.

We love going to the beach and doing all the fun beach things like diving swimming and fishing in summer months weather permitting.
