Welcome! My name is Robert

I am hoping to find helpers to share and help create my home and garden.

I live in an old home in a quiet setting near the ocean, 7km to Waipu centre, which is 140km north of Auckland and 40km south of Whangarei.

I am very open-minded and respect all other diverse cultures and ways of life.

A huge backyard, with rural views, and lots of native bird life. 6 acres... Lots of space.
I enjoy the natural surroundings and "relish" in the garden.
Have a small vege patch and an abundance of fruit trees so the kitchen can be a little chaotic as fruit ripens. My best mate is Charlie (my dog).
I may not always have time to show you around, as I am usually busy working but you will enjoy the area's natural beauty anyways.
There are wonderful beaches nearby ... I can sometimes give you a lift to town or the beach. The home is idyllically secluded so the space is as free as you want it to be. Nearby ... swimming, surfing, bushwalking, tramping, cyc... more inside

We are a busy family of 5 with an additional 2 people also living in a self contained flat - Nana and Poppa.
3 children aged between 7 - 13 a small dog and a boat.

We are hoping that in exchange for a place to stay and sharing dinner with us that you will help out with gardening work around the property. Stays can be from 1-2 nights up to a few weeks depending on visitors requests. Gardening work would involve pruning flax and weeding gardens, trimming small trees and hedges. This isn't difficult work and most capable people could perform these tasks.

We love going to the beach and doing all the fun beach things like diving swimming and fishing in summer months weather permitting.

One daughter also lives here and we are a non smoking family, there is also Molly the cat, Ella and Rusty the dogs, bees and tropical fish breeding.
There are greenhouses growing a variety of vegetables as well as outdoor crops of fruit and veg. While we do not have Organic status we do our best to grow in a natural and sustainable way.
Help is needed with crop maintenance in the greenhouse as well as all sorts of other outdoor garden, maintenance and household chores. Do you want to help for a few days near Whangarei?

We are looking for a non-smoking couple, preferably with your own transport, wanting to stay for a few days to help. Please apply by email link, telling us about your skills.

Our horticultural property is about 20km from Whangarei, with no public transport available. For this reason having your own transport allows you more freedom to explore.

There are limited shopping opportunities - a small CBD, several supermarkets, and smaller shopping areas throughout the region.

We offer generous free time to explore Whangarei and surrounding areas, therefore having your own transport is advantageous. The Bay of Islands is a drive of less than 1 hours from our property, Ka... more inside

Hi, Steve and Joanne here. We live on a pretty quiet 7.3 acre lifestyle block in Ruatangata, about 25 minutes north of Whangarei.

We are currently setting up a proper free range egg farm on our lifestyle block, so there's 400 chooks (far away from the house) along with some goats, a fat lazy cat, rabbits, sheep, calves, ducks, Kune kune pigs and our small two year old human.

It's just beside a kiwi reserve so you can sometimes hear them at night. No noise pollution and views of the stars are amazing.

We are pretty easy going, and just looking for some help really!

For those that are interested in farming I can teach you how to do basics stuff like fencing and anything else I can.

At the very least you'll definitely learn how to look after some animals!

Lots of jobs to do, mostly cleaning outside, tidying, moving stuff, maybe spraying weeds, maybe painting or planting, making nesting boxes for chooks and getting our sleepout ready for habitation!

It is almos... more inside
