We are taking on helpers all year. They are staying in a separate two-bedroom cottage which has a heat pump and is only 30m from our house so our door is always open for a chat and or advice. We try to give couples their own room and the single helpers will be sharing the other room. We are looking for helpers that can stay two weeks or more with us.
The helpers are asked to help four hours for every night they are staying with us. Some of our helpers will have the opportunity to come with us on Saturdays to the markets and help us sell our produce and for this you will get a day off during the week.

We live on a 4ha orchard on which we are growing plums, strawberries, garlic, feijoas and also vegetables for the local market. So the work our helpers are doing is mainly weeding, picking and pruning.

We are working mainly outside, sometimes it's wet and it is important that you can bring wet weather gear. We will provide gumboots and gloves if needed. The work is in gener... more inside

We live with on an orchard 12 minutes north of Kerikeri, in the Bay of Islands, growing blueberries, raspberries and grapes. We would love help in the orchard now that the picking season has finished. You are very welcome to stay for a week or maybe longer.

Our helpers have their own separate accommodation, with a kitchen, bathroom/laundry and small lounge.

We ask for 4 hours work a day in exchange for accommodation and 3 meals a day. Please bring wet weather gear in case it rains. Free Wifi is also available. You MUST HAVE YOUR OWN CAR, as we live out of town with no public transport.

We offer friendly hospitality, have travelled overseas ourselves, love meeting people from other cultures and enjoy sport. We are a Christian family and do not work on Sundays, so ask that you organise your own meals that day. Murray works on the orchard, and Sue teaches English.

Our family home is by the beach in Paihia, an easy beach walk to town. Part of my life is spend on maintenance and gardening and part of the time overseas using my skills for others. In recent years I have been on volunteer assignments in Papua New Guinea, Bougainville and the Solomon Islands and this year I have just returned from looking after pangolins in Central African Republic, last year I spent a month cycling through Laos. I enjoy meeting people like you on your travels too.

Our home has a great location - panoramic sea views just by a sandy beach. It is an easy beach walk or 2 min drive to Paihia wharf and cafes and the Russell ferry, while a 1 hr coastal walk leads to the port of Opua.
I welcome you to help in a range of property maintenance, housework, gardening (and possibly boat-building) tasks. My preference is for two people travelling together who have good practical skills. Come for 4-5 days or longer.
I offer your own comfortable room, free WiFi, and b... more inside

We are a busy couple who live on a 10 acre plot of land close to the sea in Northland.

Our plot of land allows us to practice self sufficiency with a vegetable garden, orchard, cattle, sheep, chooks, ducks, a dog and cats. Our meals are home grown, we eat what we grow.

Each week (weather permitting) we fish commercially for flounder.

The work we require help with is our garden, orchard, fishing, net making, general farm work, everyday chores, repairs and maintenance both on the land and on the boat. We need 2 people for some tasks so couples or friends are what we prefer.

We also have a beautiful yacht which we enjoy sailing and relaxing on.

There is a stunning DOC walking track that starts on our boundary and there are lots of beautiful beaches within a 50km radius, and a beautiful surf beach - Taupo Bay 25 minutes away. We also have kayaks for your use.

We look forward to hearing from you.
Anne and Doug
