I'm living in a large old Art Deco commercial building in Central Napier, and I am gradually converting the upstairs into an apartment, and host regular small intimate concerts in the building.

I need help with a variety of things, so if you are interested, let me know and tell me about your skills!

We are a family of four (Bonnie, Pete, Finn (6ys)and Angus (3yrs)) looking for some help around home and the chance for our kids to meet different people from around the world. We live on "The Hill" surrounded by trees and with a bit a of a sea view. We have a great pool that helpers would be welcome to use in summer. It is an easy walk into town (10 - 15 minutes) - a taxi costs less than $10 to town. The botanical gardens are just down the road and its is also a 15 minute walk to Ahuriri and the sea.

We have a large home with a flat downstairs that we rent out short term. If it is vacant you would be able to use this, So if you stay with us you can have your own space as well as share our home. If the flat is rented we have other nice bedrooms with their own access.

We are looking for general help around our home and property. We have a lot of gardens that we struggle to keep up with so most of the help would initially be gardening type work. As we are a working fam... more inside

A family home with a self contained seperate studio on the premise. The home is situated on an acre property in the middle of Havelock North village. The serene grounds include a pool, lawns and paths that weave through native bush. A 2 min drive or 10 min walk into the lovely village of Havelock North and a great base for exploring the Hawkes Bay offerings - vineyards, dining experiences, cycle tracks, walks and beaches.

We are an organically based beekeeping and honey processing company adhering to Rudolf Steiner principles of natural living. Processing our own product allows us to supply an unheated product, ensuring an undamaged enzyme count with botanicals and a complex flavour to the pallet.

The volunteer work will involve a variety of cleaning up hive gear, helping to jar & process honey, labelling, making beeswax candles, propolis creams, preparing the bee gear, building and (in the right season) visiting the hives.

Our work exchange is 24 hours a week for full board and 3 healthy meals a day. We have a vegetable garden that you can harvest from for meals.

Very relaxed and easy going environment/people, great food and good company. Only a short bus or car ride into town, not too far to bike but probably a little too far to walk. We have 4 bicycles available to use. Around the Hawkes Bay are 168 kilometers of bike trails, many right along the beautiful coastline.

We prefer couples,... more inside

Paul and I live on a small farm. Our 5 children are all grown and living overseas and in Hawkes Bay.Our combined interests include surfing (anything to do with the sea) travel, hiking, conservation and the environment,gardening...
We farm cattle and have a few sheep on our property, which is east of our nearest town, Waipawa (approx 20 km)in Central Hawkes Bay. We have expansive rural views and great outlook to the west over the ranges.
Only 10 minutes drive (15km) to the closest beach or the river - good summertime swimming, surfing and fishing. There are some lovely tramping / walking tracks in the eastern Ruahine forest Park 45 - 60 minute drive to access.

General farm jobs, lots of gardening, house work and odd jobs. We are currently refurbishing main house so wall paper stripping is on the agenda. Also needing some housesitting during February.

Pets include 2 dogs and 3 cats and too many chooks and ducks.
We offer self contained wool shed studio accommodation and sh... more inside

We need help from the middle of March until 9th April.
We are one of New Zealand's premier alpaca breeders and we export our livestock to the EU and Uk. We have 150 alpacas and work with our animals on a daily basis. A helper would be involved in halter training young alpacas ready for the show ring, care and maintenance of our paddocks, removal of manure from paddocks using a large vacuum cleaner towed behind quad bike. Fencing, thistle removal and general pasture maintenance. There are a variety of other jobs involving our four labrador dogs, chickens and our cats.
The helpers will have their own room with their own bathroom. They will be fed meals three times each day and will be included in the family home.
Why not come to lovely Hawkes Bay and enjoy the warm sunny climate on the east coast of the north island? Read our feedback from other helpx guests. We have had very happy exchanges.
