Come and join our family and experience a real kiwi dairy farm!!

We are a family of 6 (between 53 and 1) living on a dairy farm in rural North Taranaki. The 230 hectare property is situated in the Uruti valley, but also has terraces at the top with lovely views to the mountain, sea and New Plymouth. We are located 45km north of New Plymouth on the main road, so are easily accessible (only 40 min to New Plymouth). The farm is a working dairy farm with dry stock, forestry and native bush.
There is always plenty to do and we will find a task for anybody depending on their skills. tasks can range from weed control, cleaning, fencing, over painting, general maintenance tasks to firewood.
General rule of thumb is 4 hours of help per day for accommodation, lunch and dinner as well as wifi at the main house.
The current accommodation is about 100m from the main house on the other side of the road. It is an adventurous shedding light, power and toilet as well as fridge, small basic ... more inside

KIA ORA / GREETINGS .... Yes, I am currently able to host helpers ....
So - If you are keen - Let me know your skills. The 'help' is varied and depends on what projects I am working on ...

I would like help sealing and painting the outside of a water tank. I am also painting the outside of The Cottage.

A bit of water blasting.

I am re building the property's gasometer .. a bit of cunning engineering is needed here.

I am also needing to sort my library and catalogue my art books. But, firstly - I am re painting the book shelves.

I am always doing some gardening - weather dependent - and inside cleaning.
The garden beds always need a weed and also there is some lawns to mow.

A Helper/s with some I.T. experience / knowledge would be wonderful.

In exchange for a full day off to explore Mt. Taranaki, I kindly ask that Helpers complete a simple Track Report to provide feedback on the track. I also ask that Helpers share a few of their photos from the walk. Feed... more inside

There is the local privately run Tawhiti museum a must see don't let the word museum put you off visiting this amazing experience created by an ex art teacher. Also a 10 minute drive to our local Ohawe beach which is a surf Beach on the surf highway. An interesting drive to take is the forgotten world highway to call into the Whangamogama hotel and get yourself a passport from the self claimed republic:-) . Climb the local 100 year old water Tower.lake Rotokare as described by one guest "it was like going into Jurassic Park" to explore. Dam dropping a hit so far with most of the helpers that have been here, with some just happy to watch and not take the plunge(on colder days you would need a wet suit.) New Plymouth city is only an hour away and in Dec and Jan there is the fe... more inside

We need an active person to assist with some gardening and au-pair work while I work part time offsite two or three days per week.Mid January 2018 on...

Having a vehicle is useful. We have good bikes. We are near the coast in a warm energy efficient off grid home with a large garden. Non smokers only. We often enjoy the ocean, surfing; and take part in events around Taranaki region which you can join us in.

A small but regular amount of au pair and gardening work by responsible person(s) in exchange for accommodation with regular paid work assisting with getting my daughter to school. Prefer an active good learner with an understanding or keenness to learn about sustainability and rural skills. We do enjoy ourselves! Piano in house.
Women preferred (my daughter Bella-13 lives with me). Beaches, mountain and cafe's not far away. Working horses.Prefer someone able to stay a few weeks and able to explore and enjoy the region.

Cheers, steve and Bella.

We have a vacancy from 15 February 2018.

We have a warm, sunny single bedroom that would suit a person interested in being close to the New Plymouth city centre, near Brooklands Park and the stunning Pukekura Park. We live very close to public transport links as well as you are welcome to use our mountain bikes to cycle within the city boundaries.

There is free wifi.

We need around 3 hours enthusiastic help per day. We are looking for someone to help with laundry, house cleaning, looking after the dog and weeding in the garden.

The bed is a king single.

Our lovely, friendly large dog enjoys company and we would appreciate you being able to play and interact with her in a happy positive manner.

We have 4 adult children, only one at home and he is in high school. He is independent and capable of looking after himself and is around the home during the holidays.

If you are a independent, hardworking person, non-smoker then we would love to hear from you. ... more inside
