We live in a small town only 1 hour from Wellington City either by car or by train. There is a lot to see and do in this part of the country. We've got an acre of land with a house, a few trees and small gardens. We have a small vegetable garden and an orchard with a few fruit trees. We've got a small dog, a bigger dog and a few chickens. Paco and Diego, our Alpacas graze in our paddock. We enjoy being part of this scheme because we love meeting foreigners and speak a few languages between us. Food and cooking are a passion of mine so my guests must not be fussy eaters or have food limitations. We have one spare bedroom that is clean, comfortable and private. This is a fantastic way to get some help, meet people and learn more about other cultures. There is always home maintenance work to be done around here. Contact us if you're keen to experience life in South Wairarapa. We'll do our best to make this a memorable experience for you.

we are booked Mid Feb 2018. Some painting available at this time. Plus other farm jobs.
We only have one or a couple at any one time, so you are valued as helpers, not just people to get a job done. Variety of farm, house and garden work available at this time. Looking for non smoking helpers, preferably couples. Plenty of farm work/ stock work. Shearing drenching, weighing sheep and cattle. All that is required is enthusiasm and a desire to experience a working farm. This is not a lifestyle block. Please view our references and email us if interested. Pick up from bus in Dannevirke if needed. We are here for a good time but getting the jobs done is important. So a sense of humour and commitment is needed.Sorry, no vegetarians.
Also we have no cell phone reception, but we do have Wifi at the main house.

We are a 350ha sheep and beef farm located near to the town of Dannevirke in the Hawkes Bay region of the North Island.... more inside

We live in the Lower North Island - just 2kms from Manakau, Levin, in a 1900's style house on a small lifestyle block with a few cows, sheep, a couple of cats, and a teenager! We have a semi-organic vegetable garden and a small orchard. We love our life here and want to share it with others for a 2-3 day stay, a week (or longer...can be arranged). We have a large, comfortable in-house room (with 2 single beds and a queen size bed) for helpers to stay. Good hearty meals will be provided (whatever your diet) in exchange for help with gardening, weeding, splitting firewood, basic carpentry and a variety of other jobs (depending on your skill preference). We are located approx 10mins from Otaki, 15mins from Levin and 2mins from a small village (with pub, cafes, restaurant, deer museum and dairy). We are able to pick you up from Levin or Otaki, if you are travelling by train or bus. We love music, art and movies!

Functioning dairy farm based 10 minutes from Palmerston North, and 10 minutes from Himitangi Beach on the west coast of the North Island. Wellington is a 2 hour drive south. Very central location.

The farm house has 5 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. Loads of friendly pets around, and a couple of horses. It's a really handy location to town, so it's great for socialising when not helping out! You would have the choice of 2 double rooms, internet, sky, washing machine etc..

Looking for help with a wide range of jobs i.e farm jobs, cleaning, cooking, helping with the horses, and odd jobs around the house.

We are a young couple looking for some enthusiastic people to join us. We are very social, and would be happy to show you around the area, and introduce you to kiwi food and beer :)

Hey guys,
No one ever has lived on this piece of land before we've purchased it and we developing the land from scratch, so you could call us pioneers ;)
The property is 20acres and half of it is covered with beautiful native bush with a huge variety of native trees like Totara, Kaekatea, Matai, Rimu to name a few. The other half is mostly pines (weeds!) we are taking out at the moment and replacing them with natives. We also going to establish an orchard (fruits, nuts etc) and veggie gardens (all organic!) and have to build many structures, mostly earth buildings.
There is a stream and a decent size waterfall on our land also. The water we using comes from a clean spring. We are totally off the grid, producing our own power. We've got showers and composting toilets in place.
So far it's 5 of us on the land. My wife Ragna, our son Samson, our other son (name still to come), Hokee the cat and me, Alex :)
There are so many projects going on right now and we could need anybody wit... more inside

We are looking for help NOW for 1-2 weeks. We would prefer a couple with some experience.

There is always jobs to be done on a small farm, we have Chickens, Goats, Sheep, and Ducks which are fed daily and a large garden area that needs regular maintenance.

The sort of jobs that we need help with are:

VEGETABLE GARDEN - weeding, planting vegetables, watering, development and maintenance.

GENERAL GARDENING - clearing weeds, building garden beds, adding weed mat and bark mulch. Sometimes hard work but very rewarding to see the results when completed.

Transplanting small trees, planting new shelter plants.

Clearing up garden waste.

FIREWOOD - Chopping, stacking, and moving firewood into the shed.

HOUSEHOLD - help with meal preparation, dishes, keeping the kitchen clean and tidy and other basic housework. I have a back injury that makes cleaning floors painful for me so help with vacuuming and wooden floor washing is always welcome.

THISTLES - a classic f... more inside

Space available in February. If you are keen on being part of building a Straw Bale house or just helping out with our animals and gardening, this is the place for you. We are a down to earth kiwi family of five who live on a unique block of land just an hour north of our creative capital Wellington.

We run a local tourist attraction by the name of Loco. A 1/4 acre of miniature railway running through themed surroundings in lush gardens. There is also a newly developed petting zoo which is getting lots of smiles.

We also have an organic garden which we use for ourselves and trade for local produce. We have also just started building our strawbale house and we would love some help.

You'll be accomodated in a cute retro caravan located a comfortable distance from the main house with has spectacular views of the ranges. You are also welcome to use the house at all times.

Most of the work we would ask you to do is in the garden, general weeding and tidying, some firewood ... more inside
