Hi there!!
We have a small life style property in the sunny sunny Wairarapa consisting of paddocks, gardens, fruit trees, and lawns etc...
The living spaces are very tranquil - spacious gardens and pool area - can be quite a bit to maintain sometimes.
There are a few animals here as well as many on surrounding farms.
The property has two dwellings, as well as an art studio, plus sheds and other farm buildings.
Help is always going to be very appreciated with the maintenance as well as the ongoing creation and construction of the garden areas etc.

The Wairarapa is situated just an hour north of Wellington and we are located 15 minutes from the wine region centre of Martinborough where some of NZ's great wines are produced
There are many cafes, restaurants and vineyards
The property location is quiet and peaceful, located amongst farmland on the river with its own private swimming spots.
Generally the area is mostly farming and grape growing, the climate is hot and dry - a... more inside

We live in a river valley just outside Palmerston North, in the Manawatu area, and we are about 15km from town. We have a large family home (which we are still building) on a small 'lifestyle' farm with sheep, cows, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, cats, tree frogs & a goat. There is a lovely swimming hole just below the house and we make our own power.
Our extended family & friends live near by.
There are almost always farming, fencing, building, home made power, organic gardening, weeding & tree planting activities to be done...and music making. We love talking to you and trying your cooking, and Sue loves to paint & draw and make music with you :-)

Kia Ora Koutou

We are YOUNG couple in our early 40s with four children aged 16, 14, 11 and 10. We manage a large sheep and cattle station on the Coast of the lower North Island with 20,000 stock units of sheep and beef cattle. Check out the station facebook page "owahanga station" for more information.

We are looking for helpers to come and stay with us and help out with farm tasks, gardening, farm maintenance and general tasks around the home. There is lots of variation in the types of jobs that we need help with and anyone with practical skills and experience would be super. Working with livestock does require skills and experience so sometimes it is not possible for helpers to work with the stock much but that is not always the case and at certain times of the year, there will be plenty of work with stock to do. However, there are plenty of other tasks to do like cutting and stacking wood, painting, weed spraying and the like if there isn't much happening with stock.

Hello! We are looking for help with gardening, bush track maintenance, firewood, painting and house cleaning. Or if you have skills in building or tree felling, there is help needed there too!

Ideally a stay of 3 days minimum, up to a week or two is great. Transport to and from the Palmerston North bus or train station can be arranged if needed.

About your hosts - John is the property owner and lives in the main part of the house, while Kate lives in a side flat and home-schools her two daughters (10 & 16). We enjoy meeting people from all cultures and sharing stories & time together. In the evenings we may watch films, practice yoga, play board/card games, do crafting etc or just relax and read - you are welcome to join us! Also residing on the property are a collection of cats, chickens, ducks and bees.

Single or double bedroom accommodation is offered in the large homestead, with a guest bathroom. All linen is provided, and wifi is available. The main evening meal can b... more inside

The next space is from 24th May 2018.

we believe staying with a family you can learn more about the new zealand culture. Then we can try explain a few aspects of farming if you are interested. We have 23 great reviews of past help x people. We can sometimes say yes to arriving tommorow.

You can come for between 10 days and 16 days. just give me dates and we are fairly flexible unless i have a help x booked in. Once you have dates confirmed from Rachel that space is yours. Having girls that get upset when some of our help x friends leave it is too difficult for us. That is why we say maximum 16 nights. There is always a chance some of our longer stay help x may change their length of stay which may create a place to stay. After doing help x for 5 years we have decided that after a few situations with help x and our girls that we are going to ask that you are 25 years or older. For example If you are a couple we will say yes if one person is aged 26 and the other 23 ... more inside

Hey guys,
No one ever has lived on this piece of land before we've purchased it and we developing the land from scratch, so you could call us pioneers ;)
The property is 20acres and half of it is covered with beautiful native bush with a huge variety of native trees like Totara, Kaekatea, Matai, Rimu to name a few. The other half is mostly pines (weeds!) we are taking out at the moment and replacing them with natives. We also going to establish an orchard (fruits, nuts etc) and veggie gardens (all organic!) and have to build many structures, mostly earth buildings.
There is a stream and a decent size waterfall on our land also. The water we using comes from our clean spring. We are totally off the grid, producing our own power. We've got showers and composting toilets in place.
So far it's 5 of us on the land. My wife Ragna, our son Samson, our other son Maximilian, Hokee the cat and me, Alex :)
There are so many projects going on right now and we could need anybody with a good... more inside
