The helper I had lined up for November hasn't made it to NZ yet so I will most likely be looking for someone from around 5th November. George the puppy is now 6 months old, still growing fast, and has reached the bouncy stage. He now doesn't need the constant vigilance for toilet/house training that he did when he was little and can be left for periods of time every day. On that basis I am also asking the helper to cook a couple of nights a week, and to work on a small outside project while you are here.

There will be plenty of time to hang outside in my garden, go for your own walks, watch Netflix, or work on your own projects!

I have a lot more reviews via Workaway.

I live in lovely Wellington city in the sunny (and quirky) suburb of Newtown / Berhampore in a pretty double-bay wooden villa. I am a single (very social) woman who runs a successful design and technology company. I enjoy having guests and the opportunity to share my ... more inside

Dear friends,
We are a small Yoga Ashram near the beach and have two meditation huts in the garden available for someone to stay in, who would like to experience living in this environment. An ashram is a place for working on self-development and social harmony, through practising various kinds of yoga, including the exercises, relaxation & breathing techniques, meditation, selfless service (Karma Yoga), chanting and prayers. You would be able to benefit from all of these practices in exchange for a few hours of daily household duties such as cooking (vegetarian), gardening, cleaning, office work, and other simple tasks which may arise day to day. Also some building work if you have skills. We are looking for 1 or 2 people possibly for up to 1 month of staying here.
The food is included, but only twice a day and during weekends we ask everyone to participate on preparations of meals.
We also sk everyone to follow the vegetarian (no eggs) diet while being at our ashram.
We are... more inside

We live on Wellington's wild South Coast but have been described as "city farmers" as we have a garden and keep bees, make honey mead and have a Meadery complete with a freshwater spring, 10 minutes from the centre of Wellington city.
Although we are based in Houghton Bay, Wellington, we need help harvesting and preparing firewood in Otaki an hour north of Wellington but still in the region. Also we need help in the house and garden, so a couple who are keen to contribute these activities would be suitable and welcome!
We are happy for you to stay 5 nights and will provide dinner and accommodation in exchange for 4 hours work per day.
If you want to explore the area and have a camper van or bus, there is plenty of room to park up while you stay.
We would like you be non-smoking and animal friendly; and to have references. Thank-you

I am German and have lived in New Zealand for almost 20 years. My two children live here half the week (3yr and 14yr), which tends to be the more social half of the week (other half I work a lot), and we have a Kiwi dog, 6 kiwi chickens and a Kiwi guinea pig.

Only five minutes drive from Hutt city, or 20 min to Wellington by train.

We live amidst a very beautiful native bush setting with a small stream running through the property, lots of Fantail, Kererus, Tui and other native birds. Enjoy unlimited access to the bush via walking tracks which go right to the top of the hills above Wainuiomata via fire breaks, or take a quick 20-minute loop walk to work up an appetite before dinner.

Right now I am looking for someone mainly for painting, gardening work and some cleaning. Anyone with woods skills would also be very handy. If you can handle a chainsaw let me know! You must be happy to work if it's raining as most work is outdoors.

The suggested arrangement is for you... more inside

I have a charming, sunny, comfortable home with a lovely garden and a view over the harbour and mountains. It is very central, well connected to transport, with big parks and green belt very close.
In return for two hours work in the house and garden per day, I will provide free accommodation and breakfast. I speak fluent Spanish and can help with someone learning English.
I have a sociable lifestyle with many friends, and helpers are welcome to join in on some dinners. But I do need Helpxers who are independent too, since there will be times when I am very busy and not around much. If you're good at cleaning, gardening and doing small repairs around the house, that would be great. And I love good food, so good cooks are always welcome!

Update on 17th October. We are fully booked for hosting until after the 15th November 2017.

We are a couple in our early 50's who are "empty nesters" - that is our children have all left home. We are both employed in Management Positions and have varied interests.

Our preference is to host couples or two people travelling together as friends. We do not host those travelling on their own as the assistance we often require will need two people.

Andrews passion is fishing and diving. We both enjoy meeting people from differing cultures and we would describe ourselves as easy going and relaxed.

Our property is located 2 minutes walk to Paraparaumu Beach where, in the warmer months, you can enjoy swimming, collecting pipi (shellfish) and fishing.

We are located just 10 minutes walk to Shops and also the Kapiti Boat Club where the trips to the well known Kapiti Island Nature Reserve leave from. There are also a number of great places to walk in the area. We have mountain ... more inside

Hi, I have a small room available in a beautiful home in Karori, Wellington. The home has a huge deck and amazing views and it has good access to the city by bus (although you have to walk back up the hill to get here), or you can get a ride in with me in the morning. Free wifi of course!

I am a solo mother of lovely twin 7 year old boys and am looking for a bit of help every now and then from someone who might be looking to stay in Wellington for a few days or a few weeks. Main duties would be some childcare (evenings or weekends), mild gardening/outdoor cleaning, spring cleaning of the house and garage to get rid of junk, and general tidying and cooking. The boys are in school and I have an after school helper during the week -- although perhaps could help during school holidays.

There is a small room available with a single bed (in picture), so more suitable for one person, but it could accommodate another if they don't mind sleeping on an air mattress.
