Hello!

I am in the middle stages of multiple sclerosis. I just need help taking care of the garden and keeping the house tidy in exchange for accommodation and food. You will have your own room (depending on how many other people will be here), running water, a hot shower, warm living room, and fresh veggies to cook with. My property is located in the beautiful Springs Junction with lots of tracks to walk through around, and it's very easy to hitch out if needed because it is close to the main highway.

I have a car but am unable to drive it now, so it would be good if you had a valid drivers license or some sort of car.I cannot pick you up from Springs Junction and it is a 15 km walk to get here, very isolated. So a car is vital to get here:-)

Enjoy the natural beauty of the West Coast while you help us out in our 24 unit motel. Fox Glacier is a beautiful area, with mountains, temperate rain forest and our stunning Lake Matheson, as well as the glacier, which is just 5km from our friendly little town.
We often need a bit of extra help with tasks ranging from housekeeping work to laundry or yard work. We will give accommodation in our staff house, which is 1km from the motel. This is a 4 bedroom house with all furnishings, cooking facilities and utensils, bedding, etc. The house is shared by our staff: no more than 6 people live there at one time and no more than 2 people to a bedroom (no bunks). There is a big, comfortable lounge and dining area.
The work usually starts in the morning at 9am, so by afternoon you are free to explore the area, or pick up other work at the local restaurants and bars.
We expect 3 hours work per day in exchange for 1 night's accommodation. If you work more hours we will give you a day off ... more inside

Hi my name is Stu. I am a dairy farmer and breeder of Jersey cows living in the peaceful Waitaha Valley on the West Coast of the South Island, NZ. My farm is situated 1 1/2 hours drive north of Franz Joseph Glacier or 40 minutes south of Hokitika. The busy calving season will begin early August when the herd of 210 jersey cows will give birth to their baby calves during August and September. The next few months will be busy milking the herd twice daily and rearing young calves. If you are interested I can offer a 'real life' experience on my farm where I am always happy to teach you to milk cows if you are interested. We all work as a team on the farm and also in the house. Comfortable accommodation, food, work clothes and boots are supplied. Having a sense of humour is a real advantage on this farm. Preference will be given to a person who is motivated and willing to learn. If you enjoy this lifestyle I am happy for you to stay for several weeks or longer. Please phone m... more inside

Hi, I prefer a Vegetarian, non smoker, a lover of animals and nature.
Looking for a jack of all trades including gardening, particularly a builder.
I live off grid and very back to nature. Enjoy an evening fire bath on a beautiful piece of land with sea and mountain views. Walking distance to the river and the sea.
Prefer 30 year olds plus, i can provide certain amounts of food and accommodation for 4 hours work per day.

I feel it would be more enjoyable to have travelers from 1st December to 30th April, daylight savings offers more adventurous time and the weather should be more enjoyable during these times.

We run a beef cattle stud of about 400 Herefords 50km south of Fox Glacier. A lot of stock work is done on horseback.
The family also operate a coffee cart at the Bruce Bay beach just down the road.
Close to the sea, mountains, river and lakes. Good fishing and hunting at the back door. Help around the house and garden is always appreciated, as well as help with all other general farm tasks.
I would like to point out that this is farm producing livestock primarily for meat. We are also a largely carnivorous household.
We would prefer your first contact with us to be by e mail. You have seen our listing ,we would like to see yours.
Current tasks : Branding and tattooing calves.Still some silage to be made . Horse riding experience would be an advantage.
We always have fences to repair.
Also the routine stock shifting and general farm work.
And there is always the need to shoot another deer for fresh meat.
