UPDATE: We are currently looking for volunteers for immediate start.

Looking for a person or two, who loves the outdoors and wants to be part of a very special and historic place in NZ. Must be ok with living in a remote place with VERY LIMITED internet.

We are looking for hardy, physically fit people to help out with general duties on our property. Tasks will vary and mainly include looking after the grounds of this historic property. There is weed control, landscape maintenance, gardening, firewood and other jobs that crop up. Most jobs are outside so you will need appropriate clothing. You will need to appreciate the outdoors and must have initiative! If you love animals that's a bonus as we have a number of pets about the place.

We would require approximately 4 hours work per day from each person in exchange for free accommodation & LUNCHES ONLY, You will be required to supply all other meals yourself.
The accommodation is a twin room with a seperate kitchenette ... more inside

We live in a 1880's 2 storied stone cottage with stables which was used for accommodation many years ago. We would like to be self sustaining, growing all our own fruit and vegetables. We have hens and several sheep, many fruit trees and 2 large glass houses and several other areas for veggie growing. There is much work still to be done.
Our property runs along side the mighty Clutha River, great fishing, hiking, biking, golf, and many other activities available in the area. Some of the most beautiful country in the world right at our back door.
We would also like to establish a retreat centre where people can come and have some time out to be refreshed and restored.
My wife and I both work part time outside the property and would ask helpers to work 4 hours each day. This is flexible to allow for trips away and we are happy to help you in any way possible. The work would be varied with gardening, harvesting, hoeing, wood chopping, general work that needs to be done around a sma... more inside

*vacancy available*

We have moved into the property 5 years ago and with the help of fantastic HelpX people and hard work of the toddler, we have a nice veggie garden which is in need of constant weeding and looking after. We have planted some fruit trees in our new developed "orchard" area which looks really great at the moment. We also appreciate help with daily house work and inside cleaning, help with dinners and cleaning up after.

Helpers should not mind a 4 1/2 year old toddler in the house.

no pets but plenty of birds (Tui, Kereru (NZ Wood Pigeon), Faintail, Silver Eye, etc) in the garden. And 4 chickens and 1 rooster who lay fresh organic eggs every day.

helpers sleep in double bed with their private bathroom downstairs

expected work 4-5hours a day plus help with cleaning up after dinner; please provide own drinks and snacks.

Internet on PC available, please keep your smartphone us to a minimum in the communal areas.

We live in a 100 year old farmhouse on 22 acres which we enjoy sharing and with too much to do for us to get to it all.

There's Taco the dog, Chester the miniature horse, the goats Gracie, Sandy and Billy the Kid as well as a dozen beef cattle to get to know besides your hosts - Hyram, Adrienne and Amélie.

We have a single bedroom as well as a lovely double bedroom for couples or friends willing to share a room so we can host up to three helpers in various combinations.

Work will involve whatever needs to be done - garden work, farm work, building and vehicle maintenance, housework, cooking, etc. If you have some special skills and experience we'll try to put them to use, if you don't, there will still be ways to help out.

We would like a good four hours of work per day on average in exchange for board.

Cell phone coverage is good, there is no TV reception and we have reasonable internet access. We do have indoor plumbing and hot and cold running water ;-)

We have a lovely, sunny, family home overlooking the water on Otago Peninsula. We are only a 12 minute drive to the centre of town but it feels like we live in the countryside. We have a large garden that we would love help with (mainly pulling weeds) in exchange for accommodation and meals.

We have a busy family with 3 children (8, 10 & 12) & 2 cats. So… you will need to be OK around kids and prepare yourself to be ignored by the cats!

We are looking for help mainly with weeding the garden and other work tidying the grounds. Maybe even light maintenance or housework by negotiation.

We are looking for people who want to join in with family life while you see a bit of this part of New Zealand. The spare room has a double bed, so it would suit 1 person or maybe a couple.

We would love to learn some things about your country and can tell you some things about ours. We often head out on outdoor adventures in the weekends into the Dunedin surrounds (including ... more inside
