A warm and friendly welcome awaits your arrival here on this wild and rugged west coast of Tasmania.
Hello. My name is Janelle. A 50 year single woman with a deep appreciation for life and people. I've lived here for 9 years, establishing a permaculture property on 1/2 acre. The front gate opens to the ocean, the back gate to the rain forest. It can get wickedly windy and wild as it's right in the path of the 'Roaring Forties'. Although it's a windy time, spring is simply breathtaking with huge storm surges battering the coastline. You will feel its energy and power under your feet.
There's a lot of little projects on the go and regular tasks that cater for a wide range of skilled or unskilled people. Some of the projects include: building and construction of raised wicker beds, shade house, chicken coop, paving, cob oven, fences, ponds and water features, outdoor kitchen, outdoor bath house, stone garden walls, paving, garden art, new berry beds, tiling, bathroom renovations, b... more inside

We need people with building/DIY experience all the time but most of all we need help with painting the exterior of our house in Campbell Town.
We are sisters, Ned and Leny. We also have several pets, Yumi the greyhound, Dante the chihuahua, Mollie the lurcher (whippet/border collie) and Guy the cat. We also have chooks and ducks.

Ned is a digital artist and Leny is a jack of all trades. We moved to Tassie in 2014 and we absolutely love it.
We have two houses, one in Launceston and one in Campbell Town and at the moment we really need help with our house and garden in Campbell Town.

We usually live in a beautiful 1920's "arts & crafts" house 3km south of Launceston city centre. It is quite a big house with a lovely garden and we always need help maintaining it.

We also have a house (and a house truck) right in the centre of Campbell Town, a small historic town very conveniently located on the highway 67km from Launceston and 134 km from Hobart. We are a few doors down ... more inside

We operate Huon Bush Retreats, an eco-tourism village with cabins, tipees and campground. The surrounding habitat reserve consists of 1000ha of varied forest types and habitat, heaps of birds, wildlife and bushwalks. Self contained cabins with compost toilets, neutral water systems, solar energy etc. Most of the help is at our tourist resort, (search "Huon Bush Retreats" for details) but might also be at other locations. We are 50mins south of Hobart.

Please note we require helpers to also register with the Wwoof program to cover insurance. Every helper MUST be a fully registered Wwoofer. We can explain how to join Wwoof.

We provide Helpers with a caravan for sleeping and you share our living and kitchen. Note that the caravan has no heating so can be cold in winter, but we do supply plenty of warm bedding. Helpers become part of our household and we generally spend the evenings together as well as the work periods.

Brad, myself (laura) and Malu our beautiful daughter have been living for two years on our bush block here in Tassie. We have built a shack and shed from recyled materials and made some progress with orchards and veggie gardens. The land itself has a dam, a spring and an old quarry, a north facing aspect and beautiful surrounding views. The bush is 20 yo regrowth as the farm used to run cattle.

Our vision is an organic, sustainable farm/community to grow old on with our friends and family. We are into natural/alternative building and permaculture. One of our major aims is to reduce our waste!

We are looking for 1-2 people/couple (numbers are negotiable) to help with all aspects of farm life. Building, clearing veggie gardens, domestic stuff, road maintenance etc and occasional child minding if you're into it. We need people who are flexible, family friendly and fun!You also need to be happy with an outdoor lifestyle as it can get pretty muddy when it rains.

We both work cas... more inside

Th weather is starting to warm up, so there are farm jobs to do. Allens Rivulet Farm is open for helpers from the start of spring and summer. We welcome you to our mostly organic/biodynamic old mixed farm last year with the help of many great helpers coming to stay we had a ball. Our farm is located in the idyllic Allens Rivulet region just south of Hobart - we have had loads of great HelpX workers helping out and partying in our old Appleshed at night. The farm is located 30 km's southwest of Hobart and is easily accessible via the Huon Highway (we can pick you up from the bus stop along the highway). At the moment there are plenty of preparation jobs to complete, plus some small renovations on old sheds. We also have horses (mine and others) and chickens to look after. There is plenty of work to do to keep the farm running. Summertime help is bringing in the hay and weeding, for the rest of the year it is random jobs to suit your skill base. You will stay in a small self contain... more inside
