Yule Blessings :-)

For someone interested in dogs, dog training and behaviour rehabilitation.

Stay in a farmhouse and help to look after trained Sled dogs and Sheep dogs. You can also learn about dog training, handling, grooming and sometimes helping to raise puppies, in your spare time.

The work is basic, cleaning out the kennels, refreshing water bowls, carrying buckets, walking the dogs 2 times a day ( First thing in the morning, and again in the afternoon ), and then letting the dogs out again last thing each night just before bedtime, and a little help around the farm and in the house if needed, sawing or carrying logs to the house for the fire, washing up etc.

4 hours of work a day maximum - 2 hours in the morning, & 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon and 1/2 hour last thing to put the dogs to bed for the night.
In exchange for Brunch and evening meal, mostly vegetarian. Tea available all day :-)
Your own bedroom in the house and use of WiFi, washing machine.

Rural community of around 12 permanent members managing about 8 of our 35 hectares. Help needed with gardens, forestry, from planting to on-site timber production, animals, construction and general help around the farm including some cooking, preserving and other kitchen and domestic tasks. We usually ask for around six hours a day, five days a week, however this is flexible. Some tasks are quite physically demanding. We tend to work shorter hours at these. Lighter tasks are always available if you feel it is too much for you.
We prefer that you plan on staying with us a full two weeks if you have no relevant experience. This is to ensure that both us and you gain from your stay. Shorter stays are fine if you have relevant previous experience.
All our work on the land is organic, permaculture used as our basic method.
We also have workshops on site where we do our own maintenance and fabrication.
We host events and camping in the summer months.
There are several small busin... more inside

we are a hill farm in a beautifull part of North East Wales. We are looking for an extra pair of hands over the lambing period, also to help with some housework and gardening. We like our helpers to feel at home and get a good balance of helping in the house , garden and the farm, which could also depend on the helper's interest.
We also like our helpers to get enough time to relax and enjoy this beautiful part of the country. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested or have any questions.

We have a lovely small holding which is half broadleaved woodland, half pasture, with a stream running right by the house, 2 ponds, large veggie garden, orchard, greenhouse, small herd of rare breed cattle, sheep, dogs and bees! (See photos below of a 2011 help-xer with one of our lambs and 2013 help-xers cleaning out the pond!)

We would like help with looking after the animals including our active dogs, woodland management, gardening, preparation and maintenance of grazing land, weeding, planting, harvesting, general maintenance, perhaps light decorating, ironing when it's raining....and whatever crops up! We expect some help around the house such as washing up after dinner and perhaps cooking the occasional meal.

We offer accommodation in a refurbished 16th century cottage which is connected to the main house (see photo of room below). This will mean help-xers have their own sleeping & bathroom area tho' occasionally we may have other guests staying. You will see f... more inside

Hallo and Welcome! S'mae a chroeso!

**Taking bookings now for next year!**
Volunteers welcome from mid-January onwards

Current residents include sheep, cattle, several chickens, ducks and geese, two Welsh Cobs, two cats and one or two humans...

There is also loads of wildlife including buzzards, foxes - and of course slugs...

Lots to do!

Currently need help to:
- fence around young fruit trees so they are protected from livestock
- clean out and restore old sheep run
- fix guttering on barn (needs someone with a head for heights!)
- repair dry stone walls (great skill to learn)

Also it's now time to start coppicing and restoring a small overgrown woodland. Some of the branches can then be used to protect hedgebanks with 'dead-hedging'.

Ok, now for more details....

The farm has been grazed heavily for many years as one large field. I took over nearly two years ago and am working hard reinstate the old walls and hedges, and am adding shelter belts and orc... more inside

This is a quirky B&B set in a 19th century church in the mountain village of Capel Curig in Snowdonia National Park.

Travellers can enjoy fantastic hiking, climbing and mountain biking in the surrounding countryside and when at home they can chill in a lovely space and occasionally go in the hot tub or play table tennis or pool beneath a fabulous 19th century mosaic ceiling? The church is right in the middle of the Snowdonia's mountains so is a great place to stay in exchange for help!

I am looking for someone to help out approx 30 hours per week; the main jobs will be in the B&B cooking breakfast and doing rooms, ironing, washing, cleaning etc.. but my partner is a photographer and occasionally needs an assistant on a job. If you are a very competent rider and can jump about a 1m then you might be able to occasionally ride.

The church is often full at the weekend with self catering guests and then we go away to a flat near the sea. The flat is very basic but the location... more inside
