My uncle Jack is a dairy farmer (milks about 50 cows). He could do with a wwoofer to help with feeding his cattle who are in the barns for the winter. The main task is just to help him look after the animals. Chance to improve your language skills, get a taste for rural Ireland. Jack is a relaxed guy, good story teller. Definitely not too many guys like him around. I'm a 35 year old guy and live on a farm nearby with my girlfriend (can see his farm from mine about 1.5 km away). In terms of local attractions there is the impressive Glenstal abbey and Lough gur not too far away.

Can accept a helper during most of the year. Our farm is located just outside the town of Ballinasloe, County Galway we keep cows, sheep, horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, goats and poultry. We are looking for daily help with the feeding, the general care of animals and some chores in the household.Springtime is when the cows, sheep and horses give birth , so it's a busy time here. If you have experience with horses it is good too, there is always something to do here. In summertime we harvest some turf in the peat bog, help with that is always welcome too. We offer own room and most weekends off. Non smoking helpers only please. We have a 4 year old son and a 2 year daughter who helpers will get to know. Helpers are usually outside for most of the day so if inside is your thing then we probably are not for you. Please only contact if you are serious about coming and staying with us. We can only host one person at the moment. There is WiFI access.

Hi there I have a lovely peaceful, country home with an organic garden near the centre of Ireland and near the ancient and pagan Hill of Uisneach. People travelled from all over the world here in pre-Christian days, so you won't be the first! Its about 1.5hrs from Dublin, and from Galway. Looking for help with gardening and housework, free vegetarian food and bed plus some lifts if required. Look forward to hearing from You! Hoping it will be both fun and learning for all! Sorry no dogs as have 2 cats who wouldn't be impressed!

We took a break from Helpx for the last few years but we are hosting again! Surrounded by sea, lakes & mountains our mixed farm is in sync with nature and the seasons. Farming activities mostly with the sheep & ponies & working sheep dogs. We can host more than one helper at a time.
We provide very good food & accommodation in fair exchange for help.
Our farm awakens in the morning and we spend the day coming and going, to-ing and fro-ing, meeting the needs of our animals and general what-needs-to-be-done-tasks. Please be aware of the actual rough and tumble of living and being on a real life living animal farm...manual work...outdoors...sometimes wet...etc
(If anyone has some experience training ponies we would especially love to have you here. Our ponies are gentle and easily broken.)
In New Year we will plant trees and hedges on the farm and also repair stone walls and an old stone ruin on the farm. We welcome helpxers to stay for couple of weeks or couple of months. We als... more inside

Hello and Welcome to the Midlands of Ireland!

There is not much 'Helping' to do here. This is more about being here for when I have to travel to England for a few days every month to be with my Mother and I need someone to be here to look after my pets. There is some light housework. You need to be someone who likes animals in a quite rural atmosphere and can amuse themselves easily. There is a train station next to the cottage and you are free to go on trips whenever you like for a few days at a time as long as I am at home.

If you like to meet other travelers, I can also invite people to stay from 'Couchsurfing' to spend a few days at the cottage. You can also invite your own friends to stay here for a few days at a time.

You need to like dogs to stay here and will find that my "Paddy" is very friendly also!

Clara is a typical Irish town set in rural countryside. Staying here will suit you if you enjoy animals, reading, writing, studying, walking in the nature or... more inside

Thank you for reading our profile!

Since 2012, hundreds of people from all over the world have applied to volunteer with us and we already have people booking for next year! Many wonderful people have joined us and we are very grateful for their help. Some come for two or three weeks; most come for two or three months and some even stay for a year! Others have come back for a second or third visit. I like people to come for at least 2 months as this gives time for them to settle in and experience a lot more.

We live in a small traditional Irish village which has a theatre, sculpture centre, nice pubs and lots of sports clubs. There are lots of hill walks nearby and we are a 30 minute drive of from the Atlantic Ocean and there are lots of outdoor activities. Nearby as are three larger towns that have public transport (train or bus) to Dublin, Belfast, Londonderry and Galway. The closest international airport is 1 hour away with flights from Britain and Europe.

We have a small family run Riding School and Livery yard and dog boarding kennels in county Kildare near Dublin and we need help with our ponies and horses - we would be delighted if we could find someone who would help us with these animals and who is able to ride to a decent level/clean stables/groom horses/walk dogs..
We have some lovely well trained Horses for any horse enthusiast. From time to time we have Horses in to sell for clients. We also attend Horse Shows.
In the summer months we host foreign paying students aged 12-18 who are interested in Horse Riding also.
We would love someone who could do a bit of maintenance on the yard/farm,gardening,painting etc if asked. Working around Horses can be hard work but rewarding. I have bred Horses for over 40years and we are a fully insured and approved riding school so there is plenty of knowledge to be gained. We also have 2 large dogs.We have a beautiful large Georgian Home with mature gardens close to the university town of M... more inside

Special Note for anyone concerned by CO2 emissions from air travel and would consider travelling to Ireland by land:

Getting to Ireland by bus, train and ferry can be expensive and time consuming but if you're willing to consider doing so then I'd like to help with your train/ferry/bus tickets to get you to my farm. Sound good? :-) Please contact me in advance of booking your tickets.

Hi!

We're a family with two young children (Hazel -April 2010 and Serena - April 2013), living in East Clare.

I studied IT but came back to work on our family farm in 1999.
I am very interested in ecology, especially in bats, badgers and red squirrels. In August I carry out a yearly Daubenton's bat survey. (It's also around the time of year we check and clean the bat and bird boxes.)

General Note:
If you stay with us we will doing some gardening, general farm work and buildings maintenance during summer, but mostly woodland activities: maintaining a young woodland area ( shaping, p... more inside

I have an organic garden with poly-tunnel and an ornamental garden
Out in the country kind of life style
Experience self sufficiency here, and sustainable living, where food comes from, how water and the house is heated
I produce my own electricity from Solar panels and a water turbine
Main things to do are around the garden, weeding, transplanting, grass cutting and so on.
There is also wood chipping gathering and stacking wood. We go down to the sea nearby and collect seaweed.
Accommodation is in an another house near the main house, there is room upstairs for 2 people sharing. It does not have central heating but a masonry wood stove you can fire up once a day to keep the damp out. Also I have a caravan near the stream when there is a couple in the guest house
All meals are in the main house. Breakfast you make your self and we share lunch and dinner.
I have a keen interest in Self sufficiency and sustainable living

this means also turning off switches and... more inside

Six years an organic farm with 6 cows and followers and 22 early lambing ewes. Beef, lamb and bacon are regularly on the menu. Food is mainly from farm except bread and milk.
I live on my own on the farm and need a strong helper. Upcoming tasks are developing a 2 acre vegetable enterprise. Regular tasks include feeding animals (winter), fixing fences, and vegetable garden tasks including weeding, hoeing, sowing... and a bit of house painting sometimes...
From April to Sept I really need help around garden... no domestic type work. Usually I'll be with helper at most tasks. Maximum six hours/day, five days/week. I also work part time at a local organic garden. Single room available in the house for helper.Im a trained hiking guide and have maps of all the local area walks and hope to help the helper enjoy them ,by leaving you to start of walk and collecting at the end, I walk and organise walks once a month with a group ,also have an interest I photography.
