My name is Robert. Over the years I spent quite a bit of time in Berlin, yet my true home has always been the picturesque village of Loviste at the Adriatic, north of Dubrovnik, in Croatia.
In 2011, I finally said farewell to the ‘big city’ and since then my focus has been on helping my family to run the pension & restaurant ‘GARDINA’, to work on our ecologically oriented farm, to provide the restaurant with fresh fish that needs to be caught daily and to do all maintenance work needed around the ground, farm and olive grove.
Loviste is a beautiful place and I would like to invite you to come here and work & share with us. In exchange you will get fresh seafood, delicious meals, clean comfortable accommodation and plenty of free time to relax & explore.

a couple of years ago we moved from germany.

we are amateur farmers who are eager to learn by ‘doing’ & sharing with others,
learning as we go, requiring advice from people who are more qualified/experienced than ourselves.

on our "farm" you will find a lot of animals.
donkeys, goats, chicken and goose.

also straydogs and cats. we privatly have a shelter for this poor animals.

the cats and some dogs are in the house !!
and a lot of them in the yard.

so absolutely required is to like animals.

help is needed with the animals, mostly with the dogs, the garden and surroundings.
it always depends on the time of the year, whats more ore less to do.It is difficult to say how many hours you will work per day as it depends on what needs doing, the weather and how fast you are! :-) :-), but the minimum is 5hours per day.
In general you will work from about 8am until lunchtime and in the afternoon we need help with feeding the animals ( what don´t takes too long)and ... more inside

This is a permaculture family homestead on the top of a hill in inland Croatia, surrounded by forests.
We use permaculture principles to develop our terrain and our life. We care for the earth, for the people around us and we like to share our abundance.

We live a simple, mostly self sufficient life off the land. We eat mostly vegetarian (not vegan!); meat only once or twice a week. We make our own (sourdough) bread, crackers, cookies, fruitwines, jams, syrups, sauerkraut, yoghurt, kimchi & kefir.
We collect various herbs for tea, tinctures and oils, and for the kitchen.
We live with quite some animals: 3 cats (mouse & squirrel catchers), 3 dogs (as doorbel & guard), rabbits (lawn mowers, for manure and meat) and chickens (composters, bug hunters, for eggs & meat), and soon sheep & goats (terrain cleaners for milk and meat).

The homestead is slowly turning into a permaculture nut farm where people can camp for a holiday in nature.

Volunteers stay for at least 3 weeks to ... more inside

October is olive harvest time! Learn about olive trees, picking olives and making oil. We have open positions now for 15 October 2017. The harvest lasts 2 to 3 weeks. Welcome to Croatia!

********

We are looking for volunteers who like to be part of our olive harvest experience this fall. Our farm and trees are located on the island of Korcula in Croatia, one of the places to visit this year according to the NY Times. The harvest takes place in the second half of October and is a very special happening. The whole island is taken over by olive fever, olives are all people talk about. As this is a special time, we work hard, but also reward ourselves with things like even better home cooked food than usual and outdoor movie nights.

********

We, Franka and Marcus, started this farm in the fall of 2014. We are still developing every day, turning more forest into farm land. We grow our own vegetables, we have 200 olive trees, some fruit trees and a vinyard. The farm is 15 minu... more inside

Hostel Dalmatia is looking for a individual or couple that would like to keep the hostel open during the off-season. We do not anticipate any guest but we do have a dog and cat we would like someone to look after. We are looking for this person/persons to start at the first to middle of October. This can be a few month position or long term if we all want it. We plan to start traveling at the end of October so this position is for a person that does not mind being alone in the Village community on the sea of Croatia. This is not a paid position we are only covering the utilities and a free place to sleep. Our hostel had its first year of operation this last year and was really successful with a great Vibe. If you would like to join our team email us to set up a time Where we can video chat. HostileDalmatia.com is our website if you want to know more about our location. Steffi and Dean

Greetings, Helpers!

Myself and my soon to be wife Ava, both welcome you to Dalmatia county and invite you to join our humble project to convert an old greenhouse to a hydroponic garden, you will be provided with accommodation and the very basic food throughout your stay.
We live in an old dalmatian stone house next to a forest in a small town called Srinjine, located between two very popular tourist cities in Croatia, the city of Split and Omiš. Both cities are extremely beautiful places to visit despite them being very touristy, they have numerous hidden gems and local attractions which we always happily reveal to our guests.

Even though us and yourself/s will be staying in Srinjine and will periodically work/clean around the house, the focus of our project will be in a tiny village of Ostrvica located near Omiš, where we will with your help revive an old inactive greenhouse, and grow diverse crops of vegetables in the near future, which will feed both us and our future pro... more inside

Help needed with learning German (beginner) or Italian (intermediate) in Split. Native speakers only! We also need help with cleaning the house (a MUST!) and gardening. The helper should provide 3 hours work per day, Sunday a day off.
We can provide accommodation only (own room, shared bathroom and kitchen, free internet). We have a nice 2 bedroom apartment. We could make a cooking arrangement or the helper could use the kitchen.
We are an easy-going married couple Renata (45) and Bango (57) living in Stobrec near Split. Bango works and I don't work. We've been married for 22 years. Our house is 10 min walk from the beach. The climate is very nice with lots of "spring" days during winter. The area is ideal for hiking, running, swimming, diving etc. We are hikers and spend most weekends hiking (but not in summer, it's too hot).Split is a 1700 year old city (on the UNESCO's list of protected heritage) that offers all in one - beautiful nature, night life, museums, entertainment an... more inside

FALL 2017

I’ll be accepting helpers on the following SATURDAYS:

OCTOBER 7, 14, 21 and 28 (take the 11 a.m. ferry from Split, arriving on Vis at 1:20 p.m.)

The fall work season ends on Saturday November 4, so all helpers need to leave by that date.

I do NOT provide food: just drinking water, camping gas and a tent if you don't have your own. There are no lights at night, so please bring a good headlamp or flashlight. You'll also need your own camping mat and sleeping bag.

The reason I only accept new helpers on Saturdays is so that we can all walk up the hill together, you can set up camp and get to know one another, then explore the island a bit before the work week starts. It’s best when a team sticks together through the whole work week, rather than people coming and going whenever.

IMPORTANT: please be on the 11 a.m. ferry from Split! I only make the trek up the hill once a week to show new people the way, and if you miss the boat you create a huge inconvenience... more inside
