Hello, We have on the coast of Maine a small 5 acre National Park vacation yurt rental and we need help maintaining, greeting guests, simple but regular housecleaning, getting in wood, and general managing. We specifically need help at the end of May to the beginning of October 2018. Our helpers work approx. 2 hours a day and have a little 13 ft. off-the-grid yurt to sleep in, and an outdoor kitchen and a shed to store personal belongings, as well. There is no electricity, no bathroom (only an outhouse)and showering is only available at the local YMCA for $2. The property is on a dirt road in a pretty residential neighborhood. We have a spectacular location for exploration of nature by bike or using the bus shuttle to and from Acadia National Park. No individuals under 18 and no drugs or smokers, please.. Dog welcome. Please let us know your situation, and we will see if we are a good match. Bruce & Melissa (owners)
And, Thank You!

Seeking helpers for October!

Welcome to our little homestead, an old farmhouse on a few acres of land bordering the Oromocto river. The capital city of Fredericton is just 15 minutes away by car, or one hour's bike ride on the nearby Trans-Canada Trail. There is a river in our backyard to enjoy, and a really nice sandbar beach just down the road from us.

We have many projects on the go, mainly around fixing up the house and growing more of our own organic food. During your visit, you might be looking after our small flock of happy chickens, maintaining our vegetable garden, planting fruit trees, building a greenhouse or gazebo, painting, and more. Experience is not required, but always welcomed.

We ask for 4 hours of help, 5 days per week. Then you have the rest of the day to relax with a book from our library, float on the river with a cool drink in hand, go swimming or for a canoe ride, go for a bike ride on the trail, play guitar, or just sit and watch the chickens scr... more inside

We are a cozy small self-sustaining family farm that seeks helpers. Located in south-eastern New Brunswick, on the shore of the Northumberland Strait. We are about an hour from Moncton NB, and Amherst NS, and Charlottetown PEI. 5 min from the Confederation Bridge. Also very close to fabulous beaches and natural attractions.
During the summer months we grow organic produce in 3 large gardens that we sell from our homestead. Also roaming around we have a small herd of tame cattle and lots of poultry.
We are a middle aged couple who also share our home with 3 dogs and 6 cats. We welcome you to be part of our family.
In the spring chores include: preparing the garden, fencing and taking care of the pasture lands as well as helping with the young chickens and turkeys. Hello,

We are a small farm that will be entering it's 6th year of production. However this year is our first year at our new permanent site!! Exciting!! We run a small CSA and go to the market once a week. We use organic practices, but are not certified. We are constantly learning and wanting to try all sorts of interesting techniques that will make our farm as sustainable and healthy as possible.

Together our passions include: food, farming, art, wild-crafting, the outdoors, brewing beer, fermenting stuff, building, music, windsurfing, canoing, biking, canning.

Martin is an artist and got taken on this farming journey by his partner Venessa. Venessa studied Agroecology and got taken on the farming journey, by wanting to add some practical skills to her degree, which led to a great desire to have her own farm, and here we are :)
As an artist, Martin paints, makes short films, builds, puts together cool things that we can use on the farm, he will make wonderfull things ou... more inside

This is a summer camp facility catering to the needs of children with chronic illnesses and other life challenges. Each of our camp sessions is condition-specific, meaning that our campers have the opportunity to meet other young people who have similar or shared life experience and have a chance to be free to be kids and have fun, rather than focus on the diagnosis they have. It is a transformative experience for our campers.

We are looking for individuals to help us out in the capacity of volunteers to assist our summer camp counsellors in giving our campers the experience of a lifetime.

We are looking for helpers from May to October to help in our market garden (planting, harvesting, weeding) and also to help around the house (cooking, cleaning, hanging out with kids)

Whether you want to come for the weekend or for a month, we will make things work. All ages are welcome to come learn with us as we grow!

We grow vegetables for a 30 member CSA (weekly veggie baskets) and for the market.

We are going to be doing many things throughout the season including: soil preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting, seed saving, drying, canning, and selling our veggies throughout the summer at the local farmer's market. We did some intense garden planning this winter and would be happy to show you how that was done. Some projects that we're excited about this summer, besides growing veggies, are building some small structures, making apple cider in the fall, and wild harvesting anything in season (fiddleheads, mushrooms, berries, etc). As long as you are willing to learn... more inside
