We are a rural lifestyle block only 6 km out of Whakatane. Although I choose to be organic where I can, particularly when it comes to growing veggies, we have used the occasional chemical on rogue brambles. We have a few animals; a cow, a goat, a few chickens and a cat, two dogs and a rat called Matilda! Single helpers or couples are welcome, although we only have a single room available so if there are are two people staying, it may be a little cramped. We need help with jobs in the garden, chopping wood, digging, painting, weeding and planting, pruning, harvesting, but some help in and around the house would also be great - cooking and cleaning. We have a large house on the hill with a river running at the end of our drive, (and a great swimming hole). We have 2 children; Izzy, 13 and Ned, 12. Accommodation is a single room with shared bathroom and toilet. Short term is better at the moment. A car would be an advantage, though not essential.

We are sorry we are unable to host any Helpers at this time.

If you are looking for a place near Rotorua join Margaret and Owen at Lake Tarawera in a 61 yr. old cottage with an unattached separate sleep out where you would stay. The sleep out has a double and single bed, toilet and shower.(Photo 4).

We are about a 25 minute drive from the closest shops at Rotorua, a thermal tourist area. Own transport is essential as there is no bus service out here. Make sure your fuel tank is near full.

Rotorua is on the 'Pacific Ring of Fire' making it an active geothermal area. There is an abundant list of outdoor activities available such as tramping, camping, kyaking to name a few. Adventure tourism is an added attraction for many. If you seek a night on the town there is that as well.

We live across the road from the lake. We started a organic community garden on the lake edge reserve growing vegetables, flowers and a community spirit. We live a simple laid back lifestyle offerin... more inside

Hi
I am located just out of Katikati on a 3 acre block which I share with kune kune pigs, chickens, roosters 3 dogs and 2 cats so someone who likes animals is a must. This is a no kill property.
Unlimited wifi.
The property has spray free limes, avocado, apple and fig trees.
There are plenty of great hikes around the area with hot pools minutes away.
Own transport would be ideal for you to be able to explore the area and near by beaches.

As I work full time while studying part time I need help to get the property in shape
At this stage I am looking for someone who would be happy to help around the house and help with the gardens

As I work in Tauranga I could pick you up after work if you don't have transport.
4 hours work per day for food and accommodation which is the spare room with a queen size bed in my house.

The dogs will love having someone to follow around during the day :)

Looking forward to meeting travelers and working with you :):)

We are moving out for 5 weeks to house sit for somebody for the month of May.

We would love helpers to come and house sit, look after the animals and do some building and yard work for us while we are not home.

We are house sitting close by so will still be in regular contact (daily) and make sure that you are comfortable while staying in our home.

We are a working couple who live on a small lifestyle block 15 minutes drive from Whakatane. We are in the final stages of building our first home. We also have pigs and a Norwegian Elk Hound named Cleo.

Autumn is upon us. The season for preserving fruits, making wine and preparing firewood for winter. We really need a couple of strong young guys to help us in the gardens and firewood block, where we have two standing dead gums to drop and cut into rounds and stack to dry for the winter's heating. it is autumn, and the living is about fresh salads, home raised meats, fresh vegetables and home made wine, beer and some of work now the gardens are reacting to recent rains.
The property is one of the best examples of self sufficiency you will have the opportunity to visit in NZ. Some nice worm farms have been re-constructed, solar PV panels and an electric car to see weeding and tending the animals and small projects to help us with. Also we are involved in organising a 300 Ha pest free zone in the Kaimai Mamaku SFP, so you get and insiders view on possum and rat control up the end of the road.

We live simply, majoring in self sufficiency and a gentle footprint on earth. We mostly... more inside

*** We are currently available ***

We are in our 30's & have two young children and live on a 8.5 acre lifestyle block which we purchased around 4 years ago.

It was very run down but we saw the potential to turn it into something amazing! We have put in a lot of hard work to get it to what it is today, but still have so much that we would like to achieve! We love living here and have absolutely amazing views! We have cats, a dog, chickens, goats, sheep and cows.

Duncan works full time and I am a stay at home Mum and have my own small successful sales business.

We are looking for preferably a male to give us a hand with outside work. We are renovating our home so need help with various tasks - building, painting, cleaning up etc. General house work.

Gardening (moving dirt, mulch & weeding) making a ponga retaining wall. Cutting and stacking gorse into piles, next winter's firewood. Digging post holes for new fences.

Also at times helping with the children. ... more inside

We are a family of five. As such, we could use some help with looking after the three girls (Alia 11, Elisa 9 and Mila 6) and the daily chores at the house.
At the moment we are looking for help in the garden. We have a big beautiful flower garden that needs lots of attention. Also the vegetable garden needs cleaning up after a abundant summer.
I m planning to do a spring clean of the house as well.
So there is a lot to do.
We are happy for you to work more one day and then have the next day off.
We are happy to have one person or couples (or 2 people travelling together) one could help in the garden while the other helps with the kids and the house work.

We live close to the sea, in Maketu.
Tauranga, Rotorua and Whakatane are all at our backyard.
You need to have your own transport.
One of us is Swiss and speaks Swiss German to the girls however will speak in English to you. The other is a born and bred Kiwi.

We are looking forward to meeting you!
