This is a suburban home with a large garden in a small rural Wairarapa town called Featherston (1 hour from Wellington).

We're specifically looking for help to paint our house.

Featherston is the gateway to the Wairarapa. And is a good point for day-tripping to places such as the Pinnacles, Ngawi or Cape Palliser.

The accommodation is a small sleepout/garden house and has one queen sized bed in it.

A train runs from Wellington to Featherston and we're happy to pick people up from the station (which is about 1km from our house).

Hi

We welcome Helpers over the summer - home most of the time. The hens are laying properly again (eggs for breakfast?) - though there can be a bit of detective work needed to find the eggs!

We are a semi-retired couple living close to Greytown in the Wairarapa. We have a modern house (double glazing, solar water heating, wood fires) on 2.2 hectares. We have our own hens and the neighbours’ sheep, and a large vegetable garden and orchard. We are NOT vegetarian or organic though we try to be conservationists. We have a pizza oven which we enjoy lighting up for visitors, and a spa pool.

We are halfway between Woodside railway station (one hour from Wellington) and Greytown – walking distance into the town. We can collect you from the train or bus in Greytown if you do not have your own transport.

We have a variety of accommodation to offer, in the main house or, if preferred, in a self-contained separate building. We can accommodate 1 to 2 helpers at a time for ... more inside

Hi My name is Beth and I live in a 3 bedroom house in suburban Palmerston North where I have planted lots of trees -natives at the front and fruit at the back. In the vegie garden I am in need of help with weeding mulching pruning.

Inside I would enjoy help with house work, spring cleaning, meal preparation

Food wise I am happy to provide vegetarian food or cater for special diets e.g gluten free. Access to WiFi is available while staying with me.

I am 45 minutes walk from the centre of town and there is a bus stop 200m from my house. I would be pleased to pick a helper up from a bus plane or train. Palmerston North is a university city 2 hours from Wellington

Lifestyle property farming dorper sheep and white Galloway cattle. Also 4 horses, pigs, poultry. Early 20th Century renovated villa with two guest rooms. Friendly dog and wary farm cats. Handy to train going to Wellington or Masterton and half hour walk to Featherston itself. Helpers will not be worked too hard - just odd jobs that might be things like handing me some gear while trimming sheep feet, or being the "huntaway" dog at the rear of mobs that need moving. Otherwise tidying, light gardening, lawn-mowing. And if you are a very good horse rider then you can spend your work hours on horseback!
Your own transport preferred. Food supplied but best you cook your own as I am always outside!

We live on a sheep and beef farm 20 minute east of masterton. Life is super busy for us! At the moment we are looking for some reliable people to look after our domestic animals so we can go away for a few days. It would be from about the 27th December until about the 5th of January. If this sounds good to you flick me a message! Thanks

Gemma, Andy, Maddi and Jett.

I live in Palmerston North City in the Manawatu. I am a single working mother with 2 small boys aged 2 and 4 years. I have a pet dog and cat and a 4 bedroom house with plenty of room for One or 2 helpers. I am a school teacher and would love help with gardening, house work and general maintenance and it would be awesome if you enjoyed being around children as my boys love to play games and ride bikes and chat to people from other countries. For 4 hours work you would receive a bed, food and wifi.
We enjoy having people in our house and feel free to share you specialty cooking skills at anytime. We are also a part of a lovely communal organic garden with pigs and chickens and lots of animals which we visit once or twice a week.
We are close to river with lovely walks which you are able to access easily as well as being 2 to 3 minutes from town.

We are a family of 4 living on the property.

We are interested in organics, biodynamics and healthy living. Couples and solo travellers are welcome, however couples are preferred. My husband works at the local Maori University and I am working as a social worker at a local college.

Jobs on the property include, work in the gardens, property/house maintenance and household chores. Most jobs here are very physical so a good level of strength and fitness is required.

We live 15 minutes cycle from the beach and 10 minutes drive from the hills. So walking, swimming, biking and surfing are things we like to do and can try to help facilitate visitors to do also.

We all enjoy having visitors from around the world to our place as we have not yet travelled. It is great for our teenagers to meet people with different backgrounds than our own. We prefer you stay at least 2 weeks as it takes time to learn our routines.
