Are you available from mid April for a month or so? Have you got some gardening and DIY skills and do you like dogs/cats? Is your English of intermediate level or above? I am looking for a disciplined and hard-working person to help with the following: Taking care of animals occasionally, housework, cleaning, some cooking, running occasional Air BnB and various other jobs around the house and garden. Dog and cat are part of the family - so you need to like animals, not have any allergies etc. In return I can offer a nice environment, good, home-cooked food and help with your English as I am an English teacher. If you are preparing for an English exam or need better English for job applications, this could be a good opportunity for you. You would need to provide references either from the HelpX website or elsewhere. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a live aboard a house boat owner on Thames river in SW London, having designed built them myself with many reused windows e.g. double glazing and kitchens. As its in water we are all here at our own risk. My four house Barges (House boats) have young mixed sex tenants, ages 18 to 35 in SW London. That is my business renting cabins. they are currently on Thames near, Walton, Hampton Court and Kingston, you might cycle between them and stay on different barges so come with a back pack not suitcase! I am direct (do not take it personally), chatty, opinionated, interesting, fun, single with children that live with their wonderful mums, that do not visit often as they are dispersed sadly. Originally from rugged New Zealand, Aotearoa, land of the long white cloud, kiwi fruit, All Blacks, Alpes, volcanoes, deserted beaches, lakes earthquakes and a whole lot else! I like exercise, boating, cycling, rugby, history, parks, going to movies, pubs. You will learn much off grid living knowle... more inside

We are very lucky to live on a farm in the beautiful Lake District, just on the edge of the National Park in Cumbria. The farm dates back to the late 1600's and it has been in our family for the last 100yrs. Over the years parts of it have been renovated and added to and some parts are looking very sorry for themselves!
My mother, myself, my sister and her 6yr old son live and work on the farm running a small bed & breakfast and equestrian business. We have big plans for the place in the future, however for now we could do with a little help with day-to-day tasks. We are on the outskirts of the lovely village of Cartmel which is home to a small racecourse, several very good restaurants and it is famous for it's Sticky Toffee Pudding. You can walk into the village from the farm in just under 20 minutes or a 2 minute drive and there is a local grocery store and several pubs where you can meet friendly locals and visitors from all over the world. The nearest town is Kendal which is a... more inside

We are an environmental education project located in the Forest of Dean that provides a space for people to connect with nature and learn more about it. We provide fantastic opportunities for volunteers to take their own initiative, be creative and learn more about community living and our impact on the environment, as well as taking personal introspective time to listen to our own inner landscapes.

We are currently looking for long term people who are interested in being a part of a live-in community and the EarthHeart vision. For people who want to be engaged in meaningful work and be a part of the change so many of us feel passionate to see happen. EarthHeart provides this as well as a space / context for people to develop their own passions and gifts to the world. In this regard there is opportunity to create extra income for yourself and develop your own purpose and business. Hi, Iím Fred. Iím 38 years old and Iíve been studying several foreign languages for a few years. I have low intermediate Spanish, French and Italian, and lower Russian.

Iíll happily host native speakers of these languages for 1-4 weeks at a time, in exchange for a few hours language practice per day. I can only host 1 person at any time.

I'm looking for easy-going, sociable, happy and open people who want to experience cultural Liverpool and who will want to get to know whoever is living in the house at the time.

You must be a native speaker of Russian, Spanish, French or Italian. If you're a speaker of Russian, you'll need to have a high level of English. If you're a speaker of Spanish, French or Italian, it's not so important.

Helpers will be required to help me with learning their mother tongue, but you will have plenty of free time. Language practice will be for approximately 2-3 hours each day. Even when we're not practising, I would prefer to communicate in your ... more inside

A bustling place with lots going on! Two to four of us live here, and there are volunteers who live locally. We run a residential centre for courses and learning holidays, there's a weekly community cafe, and a Yoga studio. We have 3 acres of garden, outbuildings and paddocks. Hens, ducks, Kune kune pigs, and a few sheep. Vegetables grown on raised beds and in a polytunnel. Would appreciate volunteers with building maintenance skills to help mend leaky roofs, make gates etc! Work is in the vegetable garden, early morning animal feeding, and mucking out. We often need help baking for our cafe. Help is also with general catering, cleaning, and other domestic duties. Always lots of washing up.

We can take helpers for short or long visits (if they are the right person/people!) We also have working weekends about once a month. We invite potential volunteers to look at our website before applying, and tell us why they have chosen us in particular.

I bought this lovely but run down farm 3 years ago and am in the process of giving it the love and care it deserves to bring it back to life.
I am hoping to convert the barn into my forever home and renovate the existing farmhouse to fund it.

There are many jobs to do on the land, outbuildings and house such as fencing, wood chopping, gardening, spraying, reseeding etc. The big projects at the moment (weather permitting) are erecting an extension to a steel framed barn, building new chicken/poultry enclosures (the fox has been visiting) and preparing the brick barn for conversion into a house.
I also have an assortment of vintage farm vehicles which always require some TLC.

An extra pair of hands to help with any of these projects and the animals would be amazing.

In return I can provide accomodation in a self contained flat, food can either be provided for you to cook or we can share meals...its a peaceful rural lifestyle in a friendly community, theres horse riding, fa... more inside
