Hello. We're Kezz & Nathalie, a late 30's business partnership and couple with a very large under managed woodland to reinstate. We work the forest to source timber from which we produce firewood, charcoal, and speciality pieces all of which we sell locally. We're a bit alternative, and although we run a forest woodland based business which we love and have worked tremendously hard for, we're also both free spirited creative types and enjoy much that life can offer. Nathalie also works as a dancer and model and Kezz writes music for recording artistes and bands. We've recently completed our self built off grid timber and straw bale house, and are now finding this has also provided new working opportunities.

We live 3 miles outside a small village on the Northumberland coast, surrounded by sea, moors, forests and hills. It is a truly beautiful area and suits people who thrive in and are inspired by the great outdoors. Running, yoga, painting, surfing, music and many other fundam... more inside

The Presbytery is an old vicarage now used as our home with a large garden, tennis court, field and some woodland. We - Penny (now retired from working in our National Health Service) and Frank (retired from working in education) - are an older but active couple and we will welcome anyone to help us maintain the property (outside and inside). The garden and outside areas - especially around the tennis court (which may be used) and field need clearing of undergrowth and adjacent trees pruned back and needs general upkeep. Inside the house needs some decorating and other general maintenance work. Penny has some health issues and cannot tolerate cigarette smoke, so there cannot be smoking anywhere in the house.

The Presbytery is in the East Sussex countryside (classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty) and public transport is quite limited. However, we do have two bicycles that can be borrowed and there are beautiful walks nearby. We can reach the railway station in about... more inside

Hello helpers

Welcome to our listing page.

We are looking for a couple of people at the moment:

1/ Someone to do carpentry, simple building work or gardening now.

1/ A woman who could come any time from now and help us with cleaning, cooking healthy food and gardening. We are looking for someone able to look after a home well as well as live and work independently and who is happy to explore and make use of the many wonderful things happening in the area.

A bit about us: We are a family of 3 and 2 cats. We are living in a beautiful part of Devon, at the edge of fields and stunning views but very close to Totnes, one of the most alternative towns in the UK. We are involved in holistic work with families, from pregnancy onwards, running a small computer business and offering accommodation (mostly in the summer).

We offer two different kinds of exchanges:
one for 15 hours work in exchange for comfortable warm accommodation in your own room in a wooden cabin an... more inside

Hi, I'm looking for positive, enthusiastic people who enjoy work and want to experience boat life, by staying on the boat, helping with boat trips, maybe walking tours and talking to tourists in the town.

Bath is a fantastic (small) historic and picturesque city to be based, going back to Roman times. It's only a few minutes away from Bristol, one of the best cities in the UK for arts and music.

You will need a good basic knowledge of conversational English, show an interest in working and living on a boat and be able to talk to tourists in the town centre about out trips. Helpers enjoyed being in the town centre with the buskers and their music!

It has been a great opportunity for those wanting to improve their English. Helpers last year made local connections and friends and explored the history and culture of Bath. We have had great feedback !

We will all be living and working on a small boat which is very different to staying in a family home. You wi... more inside

Hello!

I'm looking for someone for about 10 days / two weeks from mid November to mid December 2017. Ideally you would have good I.T. skills and be creative and proactive.

Hoping for help in lots of different areas: My work - helping with marketing my small psychotherapy business - website / social media updates; basic accounts / helping me develop weekends / groups / retreats.

Also help around the house - tidying / cooking

We also have a very gorgeous, friendly dog so taking him for walks sometimes (there are some beautiful places to walk) would also be helpful.

About Us:
We are a family of 3 (2 kids, aged 13 & 11) and Eddie the dog. We are a lively (a bit loud at times), friendly, chatty household and all of us are really into music which we play fairly frequently so we would probably not be suitable for someone who likes peace and quiet all the time!

We eat healthily, with fresh, home-cooked meals everyday (if you love to cook, we'd love to be intr... more inside

** We currently need help building a timber workshop: heavy lifting, cutting, nailing etc. **
We are a fifties-ish couple, we have a few chickens plus Eva dog and Eric the cat. We have a large garden with a bit of a vegetable plot. We enjoy life: working hard, meeting new people and cycling around the South West, especially if it involves a good Somerset pub... We need help with carpentry and building projects, gardening, dog-walking.

We are happy to help people learn English and suggest ways to discover our area. We can lend bikes for helpers to get around and explore the countryside. Our village is small and quiet and the area is very beautiful. Somerset is a county with many contrasts: hills, moors, coast and towns.

Now looking for someone for a few weeks from late November.

We are Anna, Angelo and Lucy. We live in a large Edwardian house in a leafy suburb of Manchester with a good sized garden where we grow fruit and veg. We both work in horticulture and have a very busy couple of weeks coming up before Christmas, so we'd welcome some help picking up Lucy from school . We have already hosted several wonderful helpxers over the last 3 years. You need to be warm, outgoing, considerate, and to like kids. If you can cook, or drive in the UK, that would be a bonus. You need good enough English to communicate well with 9 year old Lucy. We ask for 5 hours per week day of help with childcare, housework, gardening and DIY. In return we would offer you your own room and bathroom, Internet access and family meals. Non smokers and female helpers only please. We both speak several languages so would be happy to help improve your English if required. On days off you would be within easy reach of... more inside

Richard Glyn Foundation - Gaunt's House

Set in acres of beautiful land with a Georgian/ Edwardian period house built in the 18th Century by Sir Richard Glyn. The Foundation (a charity) was set up to offer opportunities for profound learning and seeks to instil values of community, honesty and openness.

We host national and international groups that facilitate learning in a range of personal and spiritual development subjects such as yoga, meditation, gongs/drumming, Zen meditation.

Based on a small country estate, we have a Victorian walled garden, which is being developed over time into an oasis of food production and a wildlife haven. We have inherited a much neglected garden and a lot of the work this year is in restoration, as well as trying to build new areas and grow new things in a more natural, sustainable and friendly manner - including permaculture concepts.

We consider this to be a long term and exciting project. We have spent much of the time improving the... more inside
